Now, these are things that can be fixed as a DIY project so we didn't think nothing of it, then we drove off the lot. On the 2nd day he discovered a massive oil leak issue. He drove it back up to the dealership and had them check it out. They said it was an oil filter issue. My friend, for some reason, felt like he made need legal advise and turned to some people he knew. Long story short, he was sold a truck that had 157K on the dash but 257K on the key tag. Turned out that the miles had been rolled back. The airbag had also been deployed which was not disclosed to him upon purchase which is grounds for a lawsuit. The overall appearance of this truck from this dealership made me sick because no pride was taken what so ever. These people here don't give a crap about who they sell to just as long as you are a sucker... I guess that's why when the owner holds up a peace sign when he takes a picture with you after your purchase, almost as if he is saying "peace out, not my problem no more sucker." Because of that, I didn't have the $500 in time. I reached out, but they ignored my messages. Instead, they used the missed payment as an excuse to repossess the car. They kept my car for over a month with very little to no communication. I constantly had to reach out just to get updates. Instead of communicating directly with the dealership, I was told to deal only with the mechanic that was chosen by the owner, Shawn. I found this unusual since I purchased the vehicle from the dealership, not the mechanic. To make matters worse, I didn't receive my title until the end of April. Every time I asked to speak with Shawn, I was given the runaround. I eventually found his contact information myself, but after I reached out, I was blocked. When I finally picked up my car, there were loose parts sitting in the trunk, and the odometer had only increased by 31 miles after my car had been in their possession for over a month. Based on everything they claimed had been repaired, that didn't make sense to me. I attempted to drive the car home, it still wasn't fixed, and new warning lights appeared on the dashboard. I had to turn around. When the mechanic was trying to show me how to "drive" it home, he had to floor the gas pedal and sometimes pumping it just so it can accelerate, which is the same issue I had before but it was worse. The mechanic told me this was "normal" and that I would be fine. After being without my car for over a month, I had little choice but to take it. It was obvious the job wasn't gonna be done correctly, so I towed my car home. The car has now been sitting since this so called repair. I recently had the vehicle inspected by another mechanic, who told me the transmission did not appear to have been replaced and that only the transmission fluid and filter had been changed. After trying to contact both the dealership and the mechanic again, my calls and messages went unanswered. Another concern was that when I picked up my vehicle, the mechanic did not provide an invoice detailing the work that had supposedly been performed. He said he had to create one. Overall, this was an extremely frustrating and unprofessional experience. I understand I bought the car as-is but my thing is if they had no intention of properly repairing my vehicle, they should not have promised to do so. I am now pursuing my legal options. Last week, my truck would not start. I had roadside, so I called to have it towed. It was too far away to get it towed to James Wood, so I took it to a repair shop local to me. The initial claim on the warranty was denied. I called the warranty company & got a run around. Said run-around included being told that if my mechanic had lied to them, they could have covered the claim. That is when I picked up the phone to call the dealership. Bob answered the phone & listened while I explained my frustration with the warranty people. He said he needed to make a call. Less than an hour later, he called me back to let me know that they made sure the warranty would be covered. I'm sure that is not always going to be the case, but I feel like they honored their reputation and took care of a customer...rather than allowing a pencil-pusher to deny a claim on a minor technicality.
