Eebee's Corner Bar completely nails the aesthetic if you are looking for that classic dive bar or tavern feel. It is a great neighborhood spot to hang out. Food-wise, the burger was definitely a highlight. The bun really shines, and the patty had a great crispy crust to it, though adding a house signature burger sauce would easily take it to the next level. The Caesar salad was super cheesy with crisp lettuce, though the greens felt a little wet like they weren't fully dried after washing. The fries weren't quite my style, they lacked crispiness and had more of a shallow or flash-fried texture. For drinks, the Espresso Martinis were definitely a strong pour. They were a bit stiffer than my personal preference, but well-made overall and I won't hold the extra booze against them! The Guinness came in a true pint glass and drank smooth with a nice moderate malt flavor, even if it wasn't the creamiest pour I've ever had. The hype that caused hour+ long waits has finally died down, or at least it seemed that way at opening (5 PM) on a Thursday. The bar is well-decorated and has a cozy atmosphere, but the music was wayyy too loud - so loud that my friends and I could barely hear each other, the servers couldn't hear us, and we couldn't hear them. It would be one thing if it was 8 PM or later, but at 5 PM on a weekday it was just too much. I asked if they could turn down the music and one server said she'd ask her manager, but never followed up. At one point it got so bad that our ears hurt and we decided we'd ask to be seated outside, but they informed us there was only one table outside that could seat 3-4 and it had just been taken (though they said we could move to the drink railing seating). They did turn down the music a tad, but because of the sound mixing, it didn't make that much of a difference depending on the song (base-heavy songs really came through). As for the food...unfortunately disappointing. We ordered the mozzarella sticks, crab & artichoke dip, a grilled cheese sandwich with a side of onion rings, and a brownie sundae. The mozzarella sticks and marinara sauce were fine. The crab & artichoke dip did have a fair amount of crab, and they do bring you extra fried saltines if they notice you've run low, but definitely needed more flavor (they give you ketchup and hot sauce before you order, which was nice). I noticed another table had old bay so I requested that as well, and it helped. The grilled cheese was fine. The onion rings were good, as was their special sauce. I'm really disappointed in the sundae - the description is as follows: "A brownie we put our whole hearts into. HOT FUDGE, house-made whippped cream (brownie served warm of course) & vanilla ice cream." While it was delicious (it would be a feat to mess up a brownie sundae), they used a big glass dish and a ton of whipped cream to cover up a very small brownie and a tiny scoop of ice cream. At $14 I hoped for so much more (literally and figuratively). The cherry on top (pun intended) was that the service was meh. I found Eebee's a very so-so experience, with hits and misses. You leave your name and number and then leave until they message. We came around 5:30 on a Friday and had just over an hour wait, but the text came right on schedule. One bright spot - they gave away a free hot dog on 4th of July weekend with purchase of a drink, which is the kind of patriotism we need more of. The dog was delicious, I would have been happy with it even if I had paid. However, the staff seemed confused and overwhelmed by everything. One person gave us water and checked on us throughout our stay, but a different person took our order, a third person brought out drinks, and a fourth person brought out food. The result was the person checking on us didn't know what had come and what hadn't. It quickly became clear that the burger and fries, which come with lots of hype, was forgotten or delivered to the wrong table. She tried taking our plates before it came and I had to tell her we hadn't gotten food yet. In the end, we needed to ask for an update to 3 different people and waiting over an hour before it finally arrived. The water was apologetic in the end and gave a free dessert, which was nice and top notch customer service, but they could benefit from a more straightforward system and less division of labor. The burger seriously disappoints. At any price point, it is not worth ordering. You could easily find a 10/10 burger at Lucky Buns, Joia Burger, or Juneberry Garage, and those are all significantly cheaper. It was not seasoned well at all and had way too little flavor. The side of fries hit the spot, though. For drinks, I love that they offer pops and shots. A $5 pop of Montenegro? You're not finding that anywhere else. I ordered the light and dark, a fun nod to New York's legendary McSorely's, which comes with two 10 oz mugs of beer for just $8. What a steal. Even better, these beers are a cut above, even better than what you'll find in NY. The light is a pale from Schilling, and the dark as of our visit was the Grave Shift dark lager from local legends Lost Generation brewing. Love that they put a local twist on it. The menu has a large martini section, too, which is where my wife ventured, but she said the gin martini (her standard order at every new bar we try) was one of the worst she's ever had. I had to sample, and I agreed, it had an extremely unpleasant and overpowering saltiness that I have never experienced in a martini, even ones that came extra dirty. It was just not well balanced at all. The vibe is nice, and for a hot dog and beer/shot it would be a great neighborhood spot if it were more chill, but given the long wait for a spot, it just doesn't have a neighborhood feel, at least not now. read more

They have great flavor and are fried well. Nice and crunchy and cheese is melted on the inside. The burger has great flavor from the dry aging that you can taste. It was perfectly cooked to medium rare. The chips that came with it were good and nicely fried. Service was nice and friendly I sat at the bar they are very busy with drink orders but were nice and checked throughout my meal if everything was good. It's a dive bar with great food. Eebee's deserves every bit of hype it's getting. This location on the corner of 6th & FL has had its share of turnover over the years, but this finally feels like a restaurant that's here to stay. They don't take reservations, so plan ahead and expect a wait...we were quoted three hours and ended up waiting closer to 1.5! Pro tip: grab a drink nearby while you wait (Shaws, 600T, ECA, ...). The staff makes it easy, taking your name and number and texting when your table's ready. Inside, the vibe hits immediately: dark, moody, and effortlessly cool. It has that dive bar feel, but it's brand new, which somehow works perfectly. Casual, lively, and comfortable all at once. The menu is small, but in the best way. They're clearly focused on doing a few things really well. The Caesar salad was unreal, loaded with parmesan. The mozzarella sticks were massive and tasted homemade (because they are). And the burger? Worth the hype. Perfectly cooked, topped with a big crispy onion, smothered in cheese, and served with beef tallow fries. Unreal. I wish I had room for the banana split and the turkey club... guess I'll just have to come back. Service was excellent across the board. I've been sitting on this review for quite a long time, mostly because I feel it was going to be controversial or against the grain. I first off want to start and say it's so exciting to see a place get so much buzz and so much recognition all over all of the platforms. I think that in itself, is so impressive. I also think that because of all the hype, maybe my expectations were too high? We came in on a Saturday afternoon and were lucky to snag some seats in the back. We started with the mozzarella sticks. These were yummy and crispy and cheesy, but nothing out of this world if we are being honest. Still, it was a good start to our meal and I'm glad we tried them. Next, we each did the burger. I'm not a cheese gal so maybe that was my downfall here, but the burger for me was just fine. I feel like the concept is great in theory, but even as juicy as the meat is, I feel a special sauce might add a bit more flavor. My friend who ordered the burger with the cheese even felt something was missing. Again, the food was fine, but nothing out of this world. And that's okay! I just don't understand the hype, at the risk of sounding like a hater. Could it be the aesthetic and the vibe of a neighborhood bar? Perhaps?? But if we are being honest about the food, I think that's a separate conversation. I love a good bar menu and a good bar burger but this one just doesn't stand out to me. The chef recommends it medium rare, but as a former vegetarian, I couldn't do it. I ordered mine medium and it was still tasty. The cheese wraps around most of the thick patty. It comes on a house-made sesame bun. The fries are unique and crispy on the outside and softer on the inside. Not sure how I missed when this spot first opened -- that's what I get for being too lazy to take that walk down Florida past my usual spots, haha. A friend had mentioned it to me and then I saw it and was like "oh, that's the place!" I was just casually exploring the neighborhood and decided to stop in, and I immediately loved the vibe of the place. I grabbed a seat at the bar and got an almost immediate greeting from the bartenders. I got a Rusty Nail, a classic cocktail that I've actually never had before... it's whiskey and drambuie. I loved it. I did want to continue my evening exploring so that was all I got, and then I was on my way. I heard I need to return for a burger, so that'll be happening soon. Is this bar really as good as everyone says? Yes. The place, the service, the food, the drink, the vibes -- all A+. I visited on a Monday at 5:30 PM and about half the bar was full. My party had a baby in a stroller, which we fit in at a back table, but I wouldn't do it during more crowded times. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Among other staff, Emily (the owner) stopped by twice to check in on us. I had the Light and Dark ($8) which was delicious. I preferred the light beer (Schilling Alexandr) to the dark beer (Lost Gen Grave Shift). Then I tried the Immaculate Whip house beer ($7 for can) which was also great. The large mozzarella sticks (3 for $10) were awesome, and I'm not a big fan of mozzarella sticks. They were large, perfectly fried, very tasty. Then I had the cheeseburger with cottage fries ($25). I was skeptical it could live up to the hype. Yeah, it did. I took one bite and it was like eating a burger for the first time. The beefy, umami flavor, the crunchy onion, every ingredient balanced and delicious -- just amazing. The cottage fries were also very good, thanks to frying in beef tallow. I had never had this type of fry before, and I still prefer the shoestring format, but they were good. My friends also got a burger and a turkey club and were similarly impressed. We did have a few minor service hiccups, which staff more than made up for. The waiter spilled some of the beer can while opening it, so brought me a full one plus the remains of the first. Then, my friend ordered her burger well done but it came medium, which they acknowledged and prepared a new one, gave us some extra fries while we waited, and comp'd it at the end. (this was all more than necessary and we tipped well) In the following days, I kept thinking about Eebee's and that burger. Got to check out Eebee's recently on a Tuesday after several previous attempts and being met with something like a three hour wait lol. That aside once you're inside, the vibe is certainly meant to be that of your local friendly neighborhood bar. All the servers were attentive and nice. And Emily (owner) herself made the rounds welcoming and chatting with people. Food came out fast as was great. I know the burger is supposed to be the star of Eebee's but I would say go with the club. It was sooooooo yummy. I will for sure be including Eebee's into my regular spots to frequent.... Stopped by on a Friday around 4:50pm and there was already a line forming, which is always a good sign. The space is intimate, with a front bar, back bar, and the kitchen in between. The interior has a unique, well-thought-out design. There's a solid variety of drink options, and the food came out impressively fast. The menu leans creative--cottage fries were especially unique, and the crab dip was solid. I ordered a burger and a turkey club. The turkey club was fine, but the burger really stood out--so good that I didn't feel the need to add ketchup, mustard, mayo, or even touch the pickle. The Caesar salad was also well done and nicely dressed. One thing to note: there's a slight break between 6:00-6:30pm to allow for turnover from the initial rush. There's not much I can add to this spot as it has quickly become a neighborhood favorite in Shaw in a short period of time. The hype is real -- I was only able to get into this place because a friend of mine had a reservation and one of our buddies backed out! The atmosphere is *very* Brooklyn inspired: happy to see a cozy hipster bar open up in a part of town that has grown increasingly pedestrian post-pandemic. The menu? Basic, but that's on purpose. The standouts were definitely the burger which takes clear inspiration from JG Melon in NYC right down to the cottage fries served with it. Simplicity is key here and it's a slam dunk. The mozzarella sticks are vital for a reason and the cheese pull was even more impressive and satisfying in person. That said, if you're lactose intolerant, these will put you in a coma (complimentary). The cocktail menu was solid, but I opted for a Dr. Brown's soda because of nostalgia. Plenty of fun, fizzy, non-alcoholic options here for my fellow sober folx. Now here's the reality... this place is NOT cheap and it's bound to be busy for the foreseeable future. So if you're looking for a quiet place to have an intimate meal or a cheap spot for a quick bite, this ain't it. Legitimately the best burger in DC and it's not even close. Eebee's has been getting a lot of attention since they opened recently, and I think rightfully so. They do not currently do reservations and there is limited space inside, so prepare for a wait, but it is absolutely worth it. The interior is cozy and eclectic with a kinda warm classic pub feel. The service was on point and our drinks and food all came out super quick despite how busy they were. Food-wise, everything was excellent. We started with the large mozzarella sticks and Caesar salad. The caesar was great and the mozzarella sticks had a great crunch, though I generally prefer firmer and saltier mozzarella. For the entree I had the cheeseburger, which is a thick 1/2 lb pub-style patty cooked to your liking with some raw onion and a combo of American and cheddar cheese on a toasted sesame seed bun. This is by far the best burger I have had in DC, and I hope marks a shift in trends away from the smash burgers that have become ubiquitous. Overall, Eebee's is a great addition to Shaw that has already made a name for themselves serving up amazing drinks and food for a reasonable price. I can't wait for my next visit. read more

I came here the other night with my friends and it was a nice afternoon drink spot. I got a kir royale (which came in a martini glass? not bad, but not what I'm used to) which was good. My friend got an espresso martini, which I didn't get a chance to try, but it looked perfect - a good amount of foam and opaque through and through, none of that watery cold brew concentrate nonsense. I didn't get anything to eat as I'd had a late lunch, but I had some of my friend's caesar salad which was amazing - absolutely smothered in parm and dressing. The absolute highlight were the bathrooms though!! I've been in some fun restaurant bathrooms, but these took the cake. One was decorated with Broadway playbills, played show tunes, and had a life-size cutout of Tim Curry as Dr. Frankenfurter staring at you as you were on the toilet - utterly fantastic. The other bathroom was covered with baseball pennants, baseball cards, actual baseballs on the ceiling, and had radio coverage of live games. We tried the Negroni, martini, daiquiri, and gin sour. I got my daiquiri half sweetened and thought that was the perfect about of simple. All the drinks were really great. We did not stick around for dinner, but I'm excited to try their burger. By ~7-7:30 pm the place was packed, with no seating available so fyi!! They don't offer a happy hour, but the cocktail prices were extremely reasonable ($13-16 on average I think). I am extremely excited to review Eebee's Corner Bar -- new spot in Shaw. This particular business space has struggled to hold a restaurant, and I think Eebee's is built to succeed. First off, the owner, who I learned is named Emily, greeted us as we walked in and told us it's open seating. She warned that as they are new they are still working on kinks on orders, etc, but doing their best. She thanked us no less than 5 times. She mentioned their Shirley Temple syrup was homemade so I ordered one (no alcohol) and white wine. The other member of my party got a martini she said was fantastic. The restaurant is lively, inviting, and was bustling when I was there. I recommend checking out the musical theater themed bathroom. Now for constructive feedback: early reviews say Eebee's has an amazing burger, but as a vegetarian their food menu is limited for now with no vegetarian entree. I split an order of onion rings which was a very very small order and not really splitable. Very delicious, however. I also would have preferred less syrup and more soda in the Shirley temple. Though I was forewarned about the service I didn't find it to be lacking, slow, or sub-par at all which is very impressive for day 5 of being open. In fact, I felt like it was very good and attentive service. I am giving this restaurant 5 stars because I could tell from speaking with Emily that she worked extremely hard to get Eebee's off the ground and is tackling opening a business as things come her way. We were skeptical, but the warm welcome, the personal attention, the shockingly good drinks and food -- it's all real.

After months of friends telling me how much they love Eebee's I finally stopped by. Unfortunately, I was so disappointed by my experience. For the most part, it just felt like a standard pub like atmosphere. Ran into lots of people I knew, and hung out in the back bar area for a bit to grab a drink. When last call took place, we promptly closed out and began to gather our stuff after finishing our drinks. That's when a loud bouncer type of figure came in and started to yell at everyone even though it was clear people were finishing up to head out. It was so aggressive and obnoxious that it just felt so unwelcoming. We got up to call our Lyfts and as we waited by the door another guy starts yelling at all of us, telling us we can't wait by the door inside and that everyone had to wait for their cars outside. Temps were jn the low 20s and we hadn't been lingering at all prior. There were about a dozen others that had all closed out and were also waiting, but they could have cared less. What made it worse was really how obnoxious the people yelling at everyone were - so unnecessary for that level of rudeness towards customer s that were all clearly trying to oblige with their prompts at every moment prior. My main complaint about Eebee's is that they don't take reservations. A friend and I had been wanting to try it for a while, so we planned our entire Friday night around dinner here. We arrived right when they opened at 5 and joined a short queue to check in. Even though we were among the first in line, we were still quoted a 1.5-hour wait. We expected some wait, so we headed to Dacha for a drink in the meantime. About an hour or so later, we got a text and hurried back to Eebee's, where we were quickly seated in the back room. We both started with martinis, which were excellent. The fried saltines with cheddar cheese were the star of the night, so simple, yet absolutely delicious. We also shared the burger, which was enjoyable, and the Caesar salad, which leans heavily on the cheese (in a good way). For dessert, we had the banana split, which was a fun way to end the meal. Service was solid, and the vibe is casual but lively and busy. While we really enjoyed the food, I'm hesitant to return given the consistently long wait times, even during off-hours. read more

ITS A BURGER! A simple cheese burger but it was beyond well seasoned. Super T H I C K and moist. This mouth watering mammoth was really tasty. My only down fall is it doesn't come with condiments; lettuce, and tomato was extra. That was weird but not as awkward as the fry-chips. I thought it was so cute. A great way to create a topic or differentiate the pub fry. I asked for ranch which they didn't carry but instead was given a really great house made dipping sauce which is just all traditional condiments mixed. It wasn't as creamy as the _ _ _ _ -fil-a place but I liked it better because of the zing. As a visitor I was baffled at the price but it was exceptionally executed so, ehhh. It's definitely worth the wait if you didn't come early like us. I can see this being the neighborhood chill spot. read more

I finally came to Eebee's for an afternoon cocktail and burger! It's a really cozy tavern-styled bar in Shaw. After the previous restaurant didn't succeed, I was blown away to see how successful Eebee's has been. Maybe because the owner has experience with bars and what makes people happy. For example, the burger--she made me happy! While I don't have enough burger cred in dc to make any definitive statements, this was a delicious meal. The burger automatically only comes with onions which is the only topping I like on burgers anyways. Our drinks were delicious and the wait staff were super friendly. My bartender (I believe her name was Maya?) asked me if I wanted another drink and I said no. She then surprised me with one, which I thought was nice since the kitchen got my order wrong. However, when the check came she had charged me for both drinks. Didn't feel like arguing about it but deft wasn't cool :/ such a shame bc overall I've had pleasant experiences here in the past. read more
