We hosted our holiday party here and it was such a nice time! They had awesome decor and allowed us to provide some live music. The buffet spread they put out was also really tasty, that was one of the best brownies I've had in a long time. And the Caesar salad was very filling!

This review is purely just for this beast of a hotdog, OVER a foot in length, with chili and cheese, with tots or fries. It was insane and 48 hours later I'm still digesting it.

Dark and stormy for the trivia night

We were looking for places to play Trivia on Tuesday night and found this place online. I called them to confirm if they had it still going on. My husband and I went with a couple of our friends. Happy hour ends at 7 and trivia starts at 7. Great drink prices during their happy hour. It's a big place with various styles of seating arrangements for larger groups as well as smaller groups. They also have 3 nice pool tables and I heard that they host APA travel league here. There were many teams for the trivia night. Almost 40 teams. We came 18th. Not bad as I such at trivia. Absolutely looking forward to going back again.

2.5 The venue itself is pretty cool, huge inside with a modern rustic feel. There's a long bar against one side of the bar, with the food options across the way. I was there for a party and our group was occupying a back space in the hall. I was impressed with the beer selection and went with a delightful sour. I had a nice interaction with the bartender, so the 2.5 stars were for this. Once I had a drink in hand, I went in pursuit of food. I ordered the hotdogs, which came with fries, and the fried pickles. I was unhappy to find the hotdogs were already dressed with ketchup, mustard, and onions, when I collected my food. I don't like ketchup on hotdogs. So I had to scrape off most of that. The fries were ok when they were warm but absolutely useless if they cooled down at all. Fried pickles were decent. I rarely frequent DC, so it's unlikely I'll be visiting here again or often, but if I did, it would be to drink, not to eat.

Came here to watch an Arsenal game (Go Gunners!) and it did not disappoint! First I want to talk about the organization of the facility. I love how they have the bar where you can order but if you want food you can also order at a separate window. They also have buzzers for food and it makes things so much easier to manage. The environment was so fun! The drinks and food were good! And staff was always coming around collecting cups and trash so it was very clean. Will definitely be going back!

Great sports bar. Many TVs and they have a pool table. The wings were baked, which aren't my favorite. The mozzarella sticks had a great cheesy pull. I'd come back here if I need to watch any sports games. Staff will turn on TVs for you.

This is a great bar to watch Sunday night football, tons of seating unlike some other places in the area. Food is also pretty tasty, lots of different dipping sauces available which I appreciate. They also have games available to "check out", just leave your ID with the bouncer. Ordered the grilled chicken BLT, with a side of Tater tots. Tater tots so good we got a couple side orders for the table! I have already been here a couple times and will continue to do so!

a real lively place, went for my friend's grad party and had a lovely time !! as far as beer halls go, this one is pretty standard, but much larger than you'd think. they have a rotating beer menu they keep updated via digital screen which is excellent and very clear (even categorized the beers, thank heavens). seems like a place ppl go to watch some kind of sports game, keep that in mind. just as a heads up, the restrooms are gender neutral and single stall !

    Private side room

Came here on a Thursday night around 7 PM for a private party and the bar was completely full with no open tables when we had entered. There was a separate room for the private party that had beer tables, TVs, a separate bar and bartender. The private room was super spacious so definitely great for a large party. They had catered pretzel bites with cheese, brussels sprouts (amazing!), Cheeseburgers, chicken, wings, chicken tenders, chicken sandwiches, veggie wraps, and all of that was 10/10. Fingers crossed that it's on the regular menu as well. Has a pretty great beer selection, I had ordered the Mustang mango passionfruit sour which I haven't seen around before so definitely worth a try. Overall had a great time, will likely be back if I'm in the area, but I'm sure if it'll be as enjoyable with such a fully packed bar.

I visited as part of the full experience -- dinner downstairs at Birch & Barley, then up to Churchkey for drinks -- and honestly, it's one of the best evenings I've had in DC. Churchkey itself is everything a great bar should be. The beer selection is absolutely unreal -- hundreds of carefully curated labels spanning every style, region, and flavor profile you can imagine. What sets it apart is that the staff actually knows the menu. Our server walked us through a few options based on what we liked and landed us on perfect picks both times. That kind of genuine expertise is rare. The tavern pizzas from the wood-fired oven were a wonderful surprise -- thin, crispy, and the perfect companion to a cold draft. The smash burger also deserves a mention: simple, well-executed, and hits the spot. The vibe is warm and lively without being overwhelming. Great for a date, a group, or even just sitting at the bar solo with a good beer and good conversation with the bartender. My date found this gem on TikTok and it became the second stop on my birthday celebration. We left Daru and a short drive later we were on the hunt. Hidden in an alley behind Henceforth we stopped to ask someone working at a nearby spot for directions. We found the alley, spotted the blue light, and rang the bell. The door opened and we were whisked inside. Up the stairs a hallway lined with smaller parlor style rooms set the tone before we even reached the bar. Velvet fabric draped the ceiling over a grand bar decked out with bottles and dim lighting. Bar seating up front and high top tables arranged along the wall. We had not even ordered yet and the atmosphere had already delivered. To our surprise our escort to our seats was also one of the bartenders. Around 10pm there was only one other gentleman at the bar. No drink menu so we went with a staple old fashioned. Watching the bartender chisel ice and lower it into the glass with with a bar spoon was a talent worth watching. It was so memorable it made me want to chisel ice myself. The old fashioned was great. The no photography rule was listed and we followed it without question. No one around us had their phones out taking pictures and my date and I were not about to be the ones to break the code. A party of women came in looking incredible, clearly there to celebrate something special. Black girl magic was fully in the building!! The couple seated at the high top to our right came in after us and we quickly became their guides. They lucked up on this place as first timers just like us and we balanced the experience together comparing drinks and sharing what we had learned. That kind of spontaneous connection is always the best part of a new space. And that is the honest note worth sharing. The bartender was clearly more in tune with the creation of drinks than creating an experience for guests. For a new visitor on a birthday celebration that gap was felt. We never even got to share what we were celebrating. It may have been an off night, but we can see how given the right inviting bartender those in the space would engage more, which feels like exactly the vibe they are going for. For a cocktail experience that elevates the night or a chance to extend it somewhere unexpected this place delivers. We would certainly go back with a group and a more inviting bartender to show us the ropes. Next time we may start at the Henceforth before coming over. The Unforgiving Minute is a gathering place worth coming back to.

The beer selection is incredible, vibes are solid - it is pretty old world and upscale for a beer joint - but if you are looking for a full meal vegetarians should go elsewhere. They *have* vegetarian options but it's one of those things where they do the bare minimum because they have to and your choices are like...the one thing. Which leads me to the one vegetarian entree, the risotto. It was fine. Not mindblowing. Small portion for the price - small portions all around, frankly. See my pic. Our server, who was impressively attentive/efficient given that he was the only person making the rounds to all of the tables in the upstairs room, which were packed because of the World Cup, recommended getting.the brussels sprouts small plate without bacon, so I did. I did not like it. It came with pomegranate seeds and a sauce that were sweet but then had parmesan and savory flavors that did not go. I suspect the salty, fatty bacon was important to balancing out these flavors. People I was with got house pickles, fries and meatballs which all appeared solid. The portions for the fries and meatballs were pretty teeny for the price IMO. Like I said, beer selection is out of this world. Not mad at the prices or portions there, especially given that it's largely imported. Is this personally a place I would make a go to? No. Only if I am taking out a friend who is super into beer tasting. But if I were super into French and Belgian beer and or really liked that kind of food (eg mussels and very meaty Northern European dishes) ? Maybe.
