In all I went in about 12 times for different tests or followups. Never really got answers. The equipment in the office is faulty. Stress test didn't work, and when they took my blood pressure a couple of different times it was off the charts, one time it errored out, and caused bruises, but when they checked manually it was good. (I don't have high blood pressure), the tech said "oh do you have a blood clot in the other arm?" What? Insinuating that I had a blood clot and that is what caused the error. The office staff is probably the worst I have ever encountered. They can't answer questions, and will literally lie with excuses. When I finally found a new cardiologist, (only because I needed clearance for a hip surgery) he was shocked at the amount of testing that was done. The only meds I am on is one aspirin a day and she told me exercise and eat healthy. Racked up alot of bills, because it was so excessive the insurance quit covering it. She also charges to talk to you on the phone. And will charge twice in one day, if you use the at home heart monitor. I think the dr is very knowledgeable and if I had actually had a problem maybe she would have helped me. But the staff and faulty equipment make the experience awful.

Complicated because they only do each test on certain days of the week (so stress tests only on Tuesdays, echo's only on Wednesdays, etc.). After the three tests, Dr. Farah didn't go over the results. She only told me there was an abnormality, and I needed two more tests. I was terrified. When the front office scheduled those tests for 6 weeks later, I wondered if I needed to go to the ER since I might die in the next 6 weeks from this abnormality. After those tests, Dr. Farah said "low risk" but recommended more tests. After the next test, I watched her write "mild" in her notes, but then she recommended a medication that would dramatically change my lifestyle (she also undersold the side effects as I later learned). I sought a second opinion. He said all of my results were what he'd expect for an average 50 year old who cycles a lot (he took the time to know that I bicycle 5,000-10,000 miles a year; she ignored that when I volunteered the information). I will never go back to Dr. Farah. I wasted $500 in copays and a lot of my time.

Recently, my mom, suffering from dementia, had a cough, non-COVID, after testing, and when we called to get her an appointment, we were told they are not allowing sick patients into the office and perhaps they could call in some antibiotics for her and scheduling a video visit. First, you're a doctor's office not allowing for sick patients to come in? Ridiculous! Second, prescribing antibiotics without seeing your patients is not only stupid, you may end of killing someone. Third, a video visit won't work as my mom, even before her dementia, wasn't technically astute for a video call. Phone messages left to ask about getting a doctor's order for needed imaging often go unanswered and when you do get someone on the line, instead of professional courtesy, one often faces what can only be described as an attitude on their part. It's a customer-service industry, and if you can't be nice on the phone to people who are sick in need of a doctor's care, or their families who are just trying to help, you are in the wrong profession.

Just so happens the office called me today with results of some scheduled lab work that I had done; when I asked about why no one has called me back, the young woman (Alyssia) just laughed stating "well it wasn't me" and when I told her that it was not a laughing matter, she stated that she would check. Of course, the other staff members stated that there was not a message left. Well, I am not crazy and I documented the times I called, yet she still for some reason found it humorous. A doctors visit is just that, the friendly nurses taking vitals and making sure everything is up-to-date, and then allowing the doctor the time to spend with the patients following up on past issues and listening to what the patients have to say in an honest way. My biggest compliment is that Dr. Cochrum seems like an expert on various medications, and maybe more importantly the interactions between medications.
