I have a home warranty with AHS and Efficient Air was assigned to the project. AHS is not always ready to do what you contract says, so it takes time. Mark and his team worked to get exactly what was needed to fix out unit. When technicians come out, they have you between a rock and hard place if you don't have an understanding of how these units work.. Ours is 20 years old, and they could have told us, you need a new unit, and several companies did... Mark and his team, no you don't, you need a few parts to. upgrade what is faltering. I'm grateful beyond words for these men that came here with great integrity to do what was needed.. There are many companies, even family owned ones, that only think of the bottom line.. This team looked at us, knowing full well we were at their mercy, and they did a job that could have only been done by people with integrity... It's easy to complain when we don't get what we want. But most hardly take the time to lift up when a good or great job is done. read more

Some months ago we had a problem. I frankly don't remember what it was, but it was a problem with our air conditioning. Someone came out quickly and solved the problem quickly and told us what we could do to make the system operate efficiently. EDIT: OWNER STILL HASNT BOTHERED TO REACH OUT OR COMPLETE WORK ORDER LEAVING US HANGING WITH WARRANTY COMPANY. YET HE HAS TIME TO TRY AND LIE TO COVER HIS REPUTATION. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!! Bobby was very unprofessional and rude. We explained our issue to him. He left without even looking at the unit and completed the order without doing anything at all. We have had this company come out 4 times. Each time, they were assigned via American Home Sheild warranty company. To replace a compressor. Again, 2 months after, to fix a weld. And still having issues a year later. Still leaking refrigerant and without air conditioning! The work they "complete" always seems to leave us with a non working unit or another problem. Then having to find other companies to do the work correctly behind them. Whats the point of a warranty company if the companies they send out make problems worse. Leaving us to pay out of pocket to make correct repairs. The office staff has always been kind and professional. Too bad the work they sell is not up to par for what they are being paid to do. If you are assigned this company via your warranty company, beware and avoid at all costs. The technicians do not know what they are doing! Edit post owners response with actual facts: Bobby did not arrive today and do any inspection of my unit. How can it be optimal working order when the technician did not hook anything up to the system or even view said problem. He walked in my front door at 830 and completed the work order with home warranty company at 835. I have video evidence via house cameras that he did no such thing. 2nd: just like last year the company that diagnosed the issue was who we use for yearly monitoring of said unit. Obviously if there is any issues of higher priced repairs we would go through warranty company. Your company infact did not diagnose the compressor issue last year. Our service contract company did and advised us to go through our home warranty company which lead to you. Before you respond and make matters worse for your reputation maybe you sir should make sure your technician is honest and does his job! We expected you guys to do your job and check things properly. My home warranty company sent this company out and I had a great experience with a technician named Casey. He was on time, friendly, and professional. He clearly explained what the issue was (clogged AC drain) and walked me through how he was resolving it as I watched and learned. read more

I had a TV advertise A/C company to come over an give me an assessment of repairs, they told me I needed a new system which would have cost thousands. Efficient A/C Systems sent their tech to look at my A/C unit and told me it was only a compressor that was bad. I only spent a few hundred dollars and My system is back up and running great! This company works through American Home Shield and I used them because they are who the company sent. I have since dropped American Home Shield largely because of my experience with this company. Over a period of 3 months during the hottest months of the summer I dealt with this company. As far as being polite the office workers and the staff that came out were all polite, but the problem is during this time I figured out what they were doing. If I was not working through the warranty company a normal HVAC company would have gone in and replaced my entire system and called it a day. I'm certain American Home Shield wouldn't cover the entire amount, but I was willing to pay the difference. I made my first call and every call from then on in was based on that call. Meaning I only paid one fee because my air never worked for more than a month from that initial call. So my out of pocket costs were actually low, so my problem was that my air wasn't fixed. This company having to replace part after part each time they came out. The final straw came with the last part install. After they left I turned on my air and it got hotter. I called another air service company and they said the system had no freon (none as in bone dry) now either they knew there was no freon in the system or the system was leaking freon and 6 hours after they left it was bone dry. At that point I did not trust the company to do the work. After all of this I called a few more companies and got estimates for the system to be replaced. Working with a company like this-- you are not the customer the warranty company is. They are playing games with the warranty company and you as the home owner are essentially a innocent victim. Understanding that I spent most of the summer dealing with this when the system should have been replaced. Also the parts that they were using are subpar. My personal advice is don't use Efficient Air systems or American Home shield. read more

Steer clear of this company. I was forced to use them as part of American Home Shield warranty call. This company will write up the work order to AHS then try to cut corners leaving the homeowner with incomplete work. The service manager Mark is unreasonable and does not know how to talk with customers. I do not recommend this provider under any circumstances. There are many choices in the Richmond area to choose from and Efficient Air Systems, Inc. needs to be off your list, the multiple low ratings by others speak volumes. read more

I had a service call through my home warranty plan and Efficient Air System was assigned to me as a contractor. They responded quick to set up the appointment. The technician(s) arrived in the given time frame. They diagnosed the issue with my heat pump system very quick. Lucky me it was only a blown fuse, easy to fix. Bottom line, they performed as expected, nothing extraordinary or above and beyond. That's why I give four stars. read more

Worse company ever. Had a tech to install motor blower an did not install correctly. Had to contact another company as I had smoke coming up from vents. Other company fixed the issue. I contacted manager of Efficient Air System (Mark Barnett) who is very unprofessional an told me it couldn't have been his tech as the guy that came out was a senior tech. No compassion or concern as my house could have caught fire an I have my elderly dad at my house. I advise noone to have them service you. If something goes wrong, the manager will back them up. I have read so many bad reviews about this company. They were sent to me by America Home Shield. Also tech that installed blower came in without a mask an we are under a pandemic. read more

Rating: BELOW ZERO; like the temperature on Saturday Oh my GOODNESS, this is the ABSOLUTE WORSE COMPANY. I agree with the other reviews about their performance. I had been referred to them by my Home warranty company too. I called on a Saturday morning for service and was told that they would be contacting me within 24 hours and I did not receive a call for 3 days. My heater was malfunctioning and the temperature was below zero; the coldest day in Richmond history. I was calling them every hour on the hour leaving messages. When the company finally called me back, she asked "do you still need service"? As if to say, I know that you have found someone by now. I looked at the phone and told her I no longer required her services. She then told me to call my Home warranty and tell them, I said that I certainly would tell them. If I could give zero stars. . . DO NOT USE this company. We were sent to Efficient Air Systems because of our Home Warranty. They completely define incompetence and terrible customer service. We had issues with our AC they came out 4 times and charged us $315 for unnecessary parts and Freon. After all that, still didn't work. Call them back to tell them it still wasn't working and they told me they could come back out 4 days later! When I told them that was unacceptable, the owner of the company hung up on me. I am not surprised by the other reviews of bad technicians because obviously it comes from the top! After all that we said forget the Home Warranty and just decided to call a company on our own. We should have much sooner. The other company came out the same day and repaired the AC in 45 minutes for under $100. Finally our AC was fixed and we were finally on our way to be cool, no thanks to Efficient Air Systems or the wasted $315 dollars with them! read more
