My family and I come here often for breakfast. The food is good, lots of variety in the menu, and the wait staff is pleasant. I don't think the prices are unreasonable either. They have a nice environment that is family friendly. The reason I didn't give this place five stars is because of my experience on Father's Day. It's the cashier that was the problem. Egg Cited was very busy which is to be expected. The food was great, the waitress was super nice. However, after the meal I went to pay our bill and the woman at the cash register took my receipt, ran my card, and said I was good. It was a very quick, abrupt, transaction. I asked about the tip and she said it was already included. I didn't get a copy of my receipt. I just stood there for another second and the cashier said, "You're good." So I left. Seemed like I was getting told to get the heck out of here and I'm done with you. I got into my vehicle and felt pretty bad about the checkout process. I didn't know how much tip I left for the waitress and I wanted to make sure the amount was right so I went back inside Egg Cited to see the cashier. I waited. When she looked at me and realized I had already been there before, she seemed annoyed. I asked her for a copy of the receipt and I asked her for the tip amount. She said it was 18%. I said I wanted to do 20% because the waitress was really nice. The cashier seemed surprised, ripped out the receipt from the machine and said, "Here you go. Why didn't you just ask for it before?" My reply was, "Because you were being curt and you didn't give me a chance!" 1. Shame on Egg Cited for automatically adding 18% and not telling their customers. I know some people don't want to do 18%, they want to do less. But, some people want to do more than 18% believe it or not. So, not cool to potentially screw your waitstaff over. Possibly denying some of your really great staff some extra money. 2. To the cashier, yeah you're busy, I get it. But, you should be glad people are coming to eat here and the business is generating revenue. If you're not happy with your job, find a new one? Maybe try not to be so unpleasant and like you're running operations, pounding those receipts out like a disgruntled worker. You don't smile, you don't say thank you, and you're not every approachable. Not sure when I'll be coming back again. I might have to find a new breakfast place because I don't think I want to spend my money here anymore because of this lady. Might need to take a break from breakfast here since I'm no longer Egg Cited to come back. Sorry for the rest of the team that is being misrepresented because of the cashier's poor attitude! There is currently a tent set up for covered outdoor dining, as well as indoor seating available. They are enforcing social distancing, and all servers are wearing masks. The service is great, and our server was very thorough in bringing everything we wanted/needed at once, so we didn't have to keep asking for it. The food was good, with large portions pretty similar to other breakfast places in the area. This is a safe bet to go if you're craving a decent breakfast/lunch. I had the 3 meat skillet. It comes with 2 eggs and 2 pancakes. It was served perfectly and plentiful. Could easily split it with someone that likes the same thing or take 1/2 home for later. Rude employees. No customer service at all. There was an Asian lady in the front who was extremely rude. Our total was $42, we gave her $45 and she only gave us $1 back with no comment at all. Would give this ZERO stars (customer service). My wife planned to have our families over for Mother's Day breakfast and to place a take out order from EggCited. We called several days in advance to try to place an order ahead of time. We were told we could place an order but had to be on the same day about 45 minutes before we needed the order. We reconfirmed the day before just to be sure since we had everyone coming to our house. Mother's Day came and we called about 50-55 minutes ahead of our desired pick-up time and were told to call back in 20 minutes. Tried calling back and line was busy. Tried for 10 minutes before getting through and were told they were too busy and could not take any orders (dine in only). Thanks for ruining my wife's Mother's Day not to mention my Mother and Mother-in-Law's. While I understand Mother's Day is special and all restaurants are busy we tried everything in our power to make sure we didn't have an issue the day of. EggCited should take a lesson from Bavarian Lodge who had a very organized method of ordering take out orders for Thanksgiving and blocks of advance pickup order times that you could make days in advance. Once a block filled up, you could not place an order so the kitchen was not overwhelmed. Even if we got shut out of our desired pick up time we would have known well in advance and could make alternate plans. Needless to say we are less than EggCited about our experience. read more

We made a pickup order for their blueberry pancakes and choco banana waffle. At first glance the food looked great but it wasn't even close to being warm. We got there as soon as they told us to pick it up so I'm not sure how in 12 minutes from restaurant to home could make fresh food be cold to the touch. The blueberries in the pancakes were incredibly sour and the chocolate on the waffles felt like it was just for show. My friends and I used to go to family square in Bolingbrook but since it closed down we were looking for a new place. I had a skillet and it was good but unfortunately the coffee there is too strong. They have a French vanilla latte that was very good but it's $5.00 and no refills. They say fresh rolls but they are made in the morning and sealed for the day. If you get a soup a few hours later they are no longer warm and fresh. We miss the fresh warm rolls and cream of chicken soup available every day from Family square. I will go back because the pancakes and skillet were very good but will unfortunately have to pay $5.00 for latte because of their strong coffee. We were not egg cited! My husband and I went here for breakfast today. It was a busy place so we figured the food had to be good, right? Not. Hubby ordered a skillet - usually this means eggs mixed with whatever else the skillet had. In this case, the meat skillet, the meat is all at the bottom, topped with cheese and then whatever type of eggs he wanted on top. That's not a skillet. I ordered original eggs benedict. That's my litmus test for many restaurants. In this case, it was a big fail. The hollandaise sauce was bland. I believe it would have tasted better had a packaged mix been used. The poached eggs, which should have had runny yolks, were nearly as solid as boiled eggs. Very disappointing. No one - not the waitress, not the manager at the register - bothered to ask us how our meal was. We would have told them. We weren't offered a receipt until I asked about it and the manager told us they didn't give out receipts unless they were asked. Most establishments with that policy as least let you know about it! This was my 1st time here, I will say it is definitely a popular spot. With it being Black Friday and later in the morning it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I was seated immediately, that was good. I could tell either they are short staffed or choose to run with a tight staff. All the workers were scrambling and everywhere. There were no bussers in sight, tables were being sat without being properly cleaned. Workers all just seemed rushed. The food was good, I ordered the Stuffed French Toast with 3 cups of coffee. My friends and I love Eggcited. We used to go to the Tasty Biscuit but they have gone downhill and we will drive to go to this place. Eggcited is such a warm and friendly place. Wendy the new manage is so wonderful and Kristen who has been the hostess is like a staple and we love her.
