And with the 1st order they totally forgot my almond cookies. On the order the next day, they did send the cookies, but went and billed me an extra $4.47 because I requested sweet & sour sauce to go along with the 2 orders of Chinese fried chicken sticks that I had paid for. I was thinking I'd be receiving a container of their homemade sweet & sour sauce (they advertise this on the menu for $4), that's why I didnt make a biggie about it. But then I get the bag and inside there's like 10 of those generic packs of sweet sour sauce. Like WTH! These should have automatically came with chicken sticks. Shouldn't have to pay almost $5 extra dollars for those. And both of their soups, the chicken noodle & wonton was near the spoiling stage & not very good at all. And $9 for a quart of soup when it was mostly noodles. Oh c'mon on. The Almond cookies where they used to give 5, for like $1.25, now you only get 2 of them for a whopping $2.50. What is going on? And they were soft and wet, with a strange texture. They used to be flavorful and crispy. Just ashame that a once great Chinese take-out has succumbed to this low level. One redeeming quality that they do possess, is whoever answers their phones (I've spoken with a man and a lady) are really patient, polite and nice. And that does go a long way when running a restaurant. I'll give them an extra star for that. However, I just can't get past my last experience & won't be ordering again.

I thought today that I would visit my old friend and even though I have been around the world with the menu that dam general Taos chicken dinner combination is my favorite. The general Taos chicken combination comes with chicken fried rice and an egg roll. The chicken is always big moist chunks of tender velveted chicken which I can't tell if it's white or dark meat because of the velveting process but I like it. The egg roll isn't the tiny ones that became the norm over the years and it's super average like 95 % of Asian restaurants now, not like years past when the egg roll was a signature staple in Asian restaurants and they made really good ones. The combination chicken fried rice is that kind you find on most combination menus, not the main dish dark fried rice full of meat and veggies but just enough to accompany the main dish. Overall it's tasty enough and better than the average neighborhood Chinese restaurant and for a dinner combination that was 2 1/2 pounds of food for $13.50, price vs quality vs taste it's a winner.

Our normal go to stop was closed for New Year's so we decided to give LK's a try as they were open, far closer, and allowed for online ordering (a big plus!). We went with an order of Sesame Chicken, a piece of Chinese Fried Chicken, and an order of Chicken Fried Rice. The Sesame Chicken is softer, so you may not like it if you're more into the crispy version of this dish, but the sauce is good and the rice was fresh. I normally do not like Chicken Fried Rice because there's too much other crap in it, but I really enjoyed this CFR. My husband had the Chinese Fried Chicken and he said it was good. We live about 5 minutes away and the food was ready when we pulled up; while it wasn't very busy at 5 pm on New Year's Day, I was still impressed with the turnaround and the accuracy of the order was spot on as well. The restaurant itself is really nothing to look at, so I would recommend taking your food to go, as it tasted quite good at home!

I should have eaten at Sze Chuan ages ago. I was told it was amazing. I even lived very near to it…read morein the past. It's been on my list, but I didn't go. That was an error. The restaurant is in a tucked away strip mall and is modest in size and decor. The strip mall also contains hidden treasures like a Chinese bakery/BBQ and an Asian store. We went early on a Saturday evening with friends. The service was excellent, although with some staff there were language hurdles. No matter - everyone made it work and we were left with an abundance of amazing food at a reasonable price. Wine and beers are served, as well as smoothies and other non-alcoholic drinks. BF ordered crab rangoon as a starter, which was good. He liked it more than I did, but it was nice and crispy. I just didn't think it compared to other dishes. My vegetable egg roll was very good as well, but nothing terribly unique. He went bold on the entree and ordered the pork intestine and blood cake dish. He really enjoyed it and said it was quite spicy. The portions are generous and he did bring a lot home. I ordered the homestyle tofu, which normally has pork. I got it without to make it vegetarian friendly. The textures were very good and the sauce was intensely flavorful, but mild. I also ordered a supplementary dish of braised mushrooms and Shanghai greens. Everyone at the table enjoyed this dish, particularly the greens, which are a variety of bok choy, called pac choy. The mushrooms were wonderful, with the texture of wood ears. I also had plenty of leftovers to eat the next day. Our friends ordered the Szechuan spicy pork dumplings and they got rave reviews. My cousin did say they were not overly spicy. She went on to order the sizzling black pepper beef, which she said was good, but not nearly as unique or deeply flavored as the other dishes. Her husband ordered the pork intestine with clear noodles, which he enjoyed but said was extremely spicy. He did leave a lot of sauce behind since it was so hot. He also had the ox tendon and maw in spicy sauce, which came with chopped peanuts on top. He seemed really pleased with that dish. We agreed that we would happily go back to explore the menu more. Everything was excellent and I thought the prices were generally quite reasonable, especially for the quantity of food. I do wish the menu had more descriptive text, so I could familiarize myself with the dishes. The choices are many and overwhelming and the menu is huge. I'd also love to see a symbol for vegetarian options since it's very hard to know otherwise and many of the vegetable dishes included pork or other meat. As we left the restaurant was getting increasingly busy with people waiting by the door for seats. This is a popular place for good reason.

The Spicy Pork Dumplings have become my go-to appetizer, and the fried spring rolls are also very good. On a most recent visit, we ordered hot pot. Our server brought us the sheet to make our selections. You can choose from mild broth, spicy broth, or half tray of each. The spicy is pretty hot with lots of red chili peppers soaking in it, so I scooped out the chili peppers to keep rhe flavor but lessen the impact on my palate. For 2 guests, I recommend choosing 3 items from the list, maybe 2 protein and one veggie or 2 veggie and one protein to start. You can order more if you finish and need more. This is in addition to the two appetizers you will choose, which is included with rhe hot pot dinner. It's a great value! Sze Chuan remains on my short list of go-to's for Chinese dining, and I look forward to my next visit, whenever that may be.
