We often go to Egg Roll House, but we go to the one on the East side of Cedar Rapids. The lady behind the counter knows here customers!! We go in there and she knows exactly what we're going to order. I love the garlic beef but I hold the celery and add mushrooms to it. Mom loves the szechwan beef and hold the broccoli and dad gets the hot braised white chicken. I'm always so suprised when we go in and she remembers what we want and I've heard her do that with other customers too!! I love Egg Roll House! Go get the lunch specials! Awful. We ordered delivery from this restaurant a few weeks ago. The vegetables were not fresh, the sauces were weird. The rice was a really poor quality. It was ridiculously overpriced. We paid $40 for four of us and my kids wouldn't touch it. One reviewer said it's like most other fast food Chinese. I don't agree--you can easily find fast Chinese food in Cedar Rapids that is a much higher quality for a similar or lower cost. read more

Please note I justified my review by taking pictures. To the people that rate this place highly please take pictures of your food and post. How can anyone give this 5 stars. I come and visit CR frequently and I felt like Chinese this time but didn't want to drive so I got it for delivery. If you say they have good egg rolls lol. I got two egg rolls and they were the size of a sauce pack. The sesame sauce was runny. How they breaded and fried the chicken was awful. Some was not crispy but mushy. Some was over fried. And tuff. WTF! This goes right up there with my other bad Chinese restaurant review. And the price. Way over priced!!! If you think this is good Chinese food. Then you have not had many places to compare too. If you are in CR and on the south west side. I would highly recommend you go to Hy-Vee grocery store and get there Chinese. It's above average, the servings are a good size. And it is not over priced. I have had there Chinese food at least ten times and it has always been good. Oh and the wontons sucked too! read more

This food is terrible. There's no other way to put it. I was passing through Cedar Rapids and I had this delivered to my hotel room. It was convenient and I was tired. Fast service, lunch price has gone up over the years but so has everywhere else. Call in your order during lunch (takes 10 minutes) otherwise be prepared to wait for awhile. Well regardless of what you read on here about food quality and delivery I must say we have ordered from the egg roll house at least 6 times and have had delivery done. they have always been on time the driver has always been friendly and courteous and the food has always been fresh hot and accurate every time. I enjoy the taste of the food and the quality of the ingredients that they use. Keep up the great job!! read more

If i could choose 0 i would their service is unacceptable the only thing good on their menu has to be their eggrolls , ordered "orange chicken" that tasted like sausage the description of their food did not compare to what i received , they change and over price their food if you're naive to the menu , The owner Sue Lee will not refund and exchange or remake your order under any circumstances. read more

Just threw away a less than acceptable meal from Egg Roll House. The sesame chicken had NO sauce on it. Literally was just chicken with sesame seeds. The fried rice tasted as if they threw frozen veggies in minute rice. The egg rolls they're named after we're the worst I've ever had, hands down. Will not be returning. read more

Then when the delivery drivers come back they have an attitude. This is easily my wife's and my favorite Chinese restaurant. The food is always great and the price is right. The service is always friendly and on top of things. Egg roll house is a good fast Chinese place, with great service. She always knows my order and the food is very quick. I always order the Orange Chicken and it varies in quality, but most of the times I have gone it is the best Orange Chicken I have ever had. There were bugs around the restaurant while we were waiting for our food, and the office in the front area of the restaurant is very unprofessional. I ordered the sesame chicken and it looked like it had been sitting for hours and tasted disgusting. It had no sauce and there was a pool of water at the bottom of the tray.
