Went there for breakfast this morning. Took forever to get service. Waitress was friendly. Took the order, food took what it took. Dropped off by some random food runner. However, nobody came to check on us the entire time. Not even eye contact. Sat there for 10 minutes after finished, got up, went to the washroom, came back and stood at the front counter for them to realize we wanted to leave. Then the girl said she was about to come and check on us and I was like oh that would've been nice at some point during the meal. Got the typical oh I'm sorry about that and then pissy attitude because zero tip. Pancakes have zero taste. Home fries are severely overcooked. Pretty much a pathetic dining experience. Insanely surprised at the rating of this place on Yelp considering the experience I had. I'm here on a little vacation and was looking for a cute spot for breakfast. The service was incredibly fast and attentive, we got sat, asked drinks and given drinks in 2 minutes- which is the fastest I've ever had- during the morning rush. The food was delicious and seasoned perfectly. The place was clean, bright, and overall a great experience. And my girlfriend thought the same about everything. The only con of the experience was the smoothie. I got the Mango smoothie and it was a little too think so it was hard to sip through the straw, and the smoothie didn't taste enough of ripe mango for my liking. Would come back! read more

my son and I have been to this establishment many times we usually have a good experience and we usually get the same meal every time it's our thing. This morning we went in to have our eggs Benedict and we were the first people to have our order taken. Everyone else around us received their drinks we did not. We sat there for 28 minutes and they never brought us our drinks, and they brought us the wrong food order, needless to say I needed to get my son to school so unfortunately he didn't get his eggs Benedict for breakfast . I would rate this place 0 stars if possible. My family of 6 including me, came in for a late breakfast and waited for maybe 25 minutes to just be seated, after we were sat our waitress told us it would be about 45 minutes before we got our food (keep in mind we were not told this during our 25 minute wait standing at the doorway). It has now been over an hour and we still have not received our meals, three of us have now complained and asked our waitress where our food was. The waitress is rude, mouthy, and should learn the definition of people skills. The service here is terrible and I have no idea why this restaurant is still open. My son and I went for breakfast - BIG MIstake! The food they served us was just disgraceful. The person cooking the food either has no idea how to cook or they just don't give a crap about the food they send out from the kitchen. I ordered over easy eggs with sausage and homefries. The eggs were well overcooked, the homefries were so burned that I was stunned that they would even serve them. And the sausage was, swilling in dirty oil and tasted gross. I couldn't eat it. My son had scrambled eggs, which were sitting in a pool of water because they were so overcooked. Homefries were burnt and the greasy, bacon tasted gross, and of course, it was overcooked. How anyone could send such low quality, garbage food out from the kitchen without feeling any shame is just beyond me. Eggsmart is tucked unassumingly into an unassuming plaza - all in all; a chain restaurant that doesn't exceed your expectations. The food is quite average. There wasn't anything to rave about nor was it a disappointment. The staff is a little shorthanded but does make up for it in energy. Worst eggsmart. We ordered 4 breakfasts at around 1130am, took almost an hour to see our food on the table. My friend ordered three egg breakfast set and it looks like a single egg. We asked the server to confirm and she was like thats what it is. I have been to this restaurant quite a few times and I'm blown away at how beautiful the employees are there every single time. I should've taken names there's one gal that's been there a long time she's always serving coffee with a smile and making us laugh! In fact, everybody who served us, and took our payment at the end were super kibd and friendl! I believe it was renovated a couple of years ago and it's actually so nicely decorated inside. My sister and I love going there. Now let's talk about the food. Unbelievably delicious I love that they use free range eggs. they are so generous with their servings. I am a picky vegetarian, and I am more than pleased every time. This morning I had an omelet and it has so much spinach in it and feta. It was absolute delish! oh, did I mention the service is very prompt? seriously my favourite go to place for breakfast and I'm looking forward to trying to lunch there one day. it is also worth mentioning that this is one week before Christmas when a lot of staff could be under stress and the restaurant was very busy. Well, it certainly didn't show. I really appreciate everybody there from the cooks to the servers. If you've ever been to a Cora's you've pretty much been here. Or at least something a LOT like it. It's a breakfast only place, that serves a few sandwiches and opens REALLY early in the morning and closes around 3PM or so. It's 90% eggs, pancakes, toast, hashbrowns and breakfast meats served in a number of different combinations. The prices here were actually very reasonable, which I thought was a nice touch -- including drinks it costs us about $40 for five of us and everyone was pretty satisfied and full by the time it was all said and done. The place was clean and nicely decorated, if a but spartan. There was a mural and other things that harkened back to the history of the area - which I also enjoyed. The bathrooms were spotless and the wait staff was friendly, if a little inattentive on occasion. Still, we rolled the dice on this place looking for a good, cheap breakfast and I would say this place mostly came up a winner. It's an unassuming place and while the food may not knock your socks off it will adequately fill you with a nice nice of grease and caffeine. I don't think I have ever sat at a table with empty plates on the table. This might be the poorest run establishment there is. Servers and kitchen staff going out for smokes and we're sitting here waiting for our bill for about 30 minutes now. I asked a server for our bill and said out server will be with us when she's ready as if it was a burden to help her fellow server who was clearly busier than herself. She confirmed that yes and saw nothing wrong with it until I mention it was a Heath issue. I would have thought ordering a big breakfast at a breakfast place would be a sure thing but I was mistaken. Went in with a party of Four. Ordered our food right away with our drinks. Coffee and waters came out, food took 15-20 min. Waitress brought out three meals and looked at my husband and asked "what did you order?" He replies "a Montreal smoked meat sandwich". She clearly did not put it in at the time we all ordered. Three of us waiting for 5min then we ate our meal thinking his would be out shortly. NO it was 25 min and the sandwich was on the shelf not coming to the table. My husband went to MR SUB next door and had his sub at our table and the waitress NEVER came by. I was frustrated and ready to leave I walked up to get the bill and the waitress said his sandwich was brought out. To her surprise it WAS NOT. She didn't offer to take it off the bill till I asked her to as we did not get it and did not want it any more. The owner was there clearing tables but also standing around at times and not helping run food out as they where clearly understaffed. I am not one to write online reviews, however I really felt the need to let people know what kind of mess they are walking into before the decide to eat here. The service is the slowest service I have ever seen. Almost 15 mins just to give our drink order. No doubt, the restaurant is busy, but the servers have no idea what they are doing and have no system whatsoever. Servers are nice, they just suck at what they do. Also, they tell you that the kitchen is really backed up and that there's a long wait, but I think that has something to do with the cooks turning over the tables after customers leave. Why are they cleaning the tables?? That's the servers job, and if they are having trouble, hire a bus boy. I am writing this as I am waiting for my food, we haven't even ate yet. We have been here for over an hour. If you are really hungry, don't eat here. You will lose your appetite. Hope this finds you well. read more
