I brought an antique wax sealing stamp here to be engraved for my wedding invitations. The monogram I requested was engraved backwards. When I pointed it out the proprietor played dumb and took a condescending tone with me. He tried to direct me to a jeweler to refinish the piece, after which he said he would re-engrave it "at a discount." He blamed me for the error, claiming I "should have told him when ch direction to engrave it." This was a despicable way of handling this situation. I would have expected a professional engraver to be embarrassed and to know better. He basically stole my money and ruined an irreplaceable antique. read more

I bought a nice Fossil pocketwatch for my boyfriend's birthday and got it engraved with a monogram. I needed it pretty quickly, and was able to pick it up a couple days later! Price was below my budget (awesome because I'm still a student) and it looks beautiful (manly beautiful, that is). After I picked it up I went to Fossil to get the clock set - couldn't figure it out myself - and they asked me for the info of the place I got it done so they can recommend it to people who ask for engraving. Same experience as Nikki. Went there for a quick job and had a price quoted in-store that was more than double what I'd been told over the phone. When I asked about other options, I was scoffed at, insulted, and subsequently ignored by the owner. Still went with him because I was in a bind. That was my second mistake. I was looking for a great place in San Francisco that does wood engravig and came across EGO Enterprises. My boyfriend got a hole in one last year. So I brought a hole in frame and needed it engraved. First let me start off by saying CiCi was very nice. She gave me a great price. It only took her 3 days to engrave the frame . I had the back of a centenial Bay to Breakers medallian engraved. The back of the medallian provided two rectangler boxes the first labeled finisher and the second labeled time. I had my first, middle, and last name engraved in the first, and my race time - h:m:ss, in the second. The problem is the three words of my name are engraved on a slight slant. The first word highest, the last lowest. The woman in the shop told me that the slant was probably the result of the difficulty in positioning the medallian in the engraving machine. I thought the price for engraving 20 characters of my name and race time was high, and then having the engraving done with even slight defect left me dis-satisfied with the work quality as well as the price. I will not go back nor recommend this establishment. read more
