Out of the list of items I found on their website I wanted, Design Like Whoa replied and pointed out which ones were and weren't available given my team size and sent me some ideas for alternatives, and they also offered suggestions for what items to go with to help us stay within budget. I sent them the PNGs for the logos and had my teammates fill out the Google Forms for sizes and addresses, and they took care of everything else. Very fast response time and great communication. I had an initially frustrating experience as multiple emails inquiring about a quote were never answered (three sent over the course of a week). When I called and chose the prompt to ask for a quote, the recording said email is the best way. Finally after calling and leaving a voicemail, the owner contacted me and was apologetic saying my emails must have gone to spam and she kindly referred me to several other companies that may be able to help me (my project is too small for their services.) So, if you try to reach them via email and don't hear back, try voicemail. read more

Not really fair of me to rate anything lower than 5 stars. We walked in after finding them here, on Yelp. The girl who helped us was super nice & friendly but she gave us info that wasn't in their description or on any of the reviews. It would've saved us a trip if we had read any of this first. They do not do small orders, just bulk & are by appointment only. They don't really do same day orders because of those 2 things. when we explained what we were looking for, she referred us to a friend of hers (who couldn't help us either because he normally does bulk orders as well). Super. Okay, maybe a little more description is warranted. My daughter's soccer team was in the market for new hoodies and training tops. We took a long time to decide, were flaky in our communication, and could not spend a ton of money. The folks at Design Like Whoa stood by us despite our fickle nature and sporadic communication. They were patient, responsive, and gave us great options whenever asked. I had to visit the location a couple of times to pick up or drop off samples, so also met other members of the team and all were freindly and helpful. I needed a quick turnaround time on a very small order - just a graphic printed on a single t-shirt. I did lots of research but most screenprinting companies only cater to large minimums (at least 15 shirts) and had typical turnaround times of 2 weeks. But this company stood out because they could do rush orders, and they had all the info I needed on their website: screenprinting types + recommendations for which ones to choose, available t-shirts, and minimums. I requested a quote on the weekend, they got back to me first thing Monday morning, and had my order completed by noon the same day. The graphic came out great, couldn't be happier! Contacted these guys via Yelp messenger on a Saturday to have a small batch (6) of custom t's printed by end of day Thursday for a bachelor party. They happily obliged and quoted me a price in line with the rest of the vendors I contacted. Being a North Beach local, I figured this was my best bet, and even if they had quoted me $10-20 more, I likely still would have gone with the local option. The invoicing process was smooth and painless, as they use mobile-friendly invoicing software that allowed me to approve and pay for the custom design within an hour or so of sending them the picture. Pickup was fast and friendly, but I still took some time to browse their store, which was really impressive in its selection for being a small North Beach storefront. The shirts themselves were fantastic for being their cheapest option. Soft, thick cotton (maybe some poly in there too, I didn't check) and great print quality. The guys who got the shirts really liked them as well, and some even tell me they're still wearing them on a regular basis because they like the shirts so much. Thanks so much to DLW for everything. Definitely overdue for a review for these guys. Super last second had the idea to get some shirts made for a friend's bday. Very small order and needed a 2 day turnaround, and they were able to accommodate. I don't recommend waiting til the last minute as they may not be able to things so quickly always, but they were super helpful and even fixed up my crappy powerpoint design to make things look at least slightly professional. Great communication, quick turnaround and quality Tshirts that everyone loved! We made about 25 shirts in various sizes that needed a rush order. The printing and shirt material were great quality. At that amount, shirts came out to be about $12-$15 per shirt (we needed some 3xl shirts) which is extremely reasonable given that they helped do a basic design for us (1 color text), the high quality of the material, and the quick turnaround. Communication was seamless and they are very fast to respond by both phone and email. My order was 8 Direct-to-Garment T-shirt's on a navy blue T-shirt. They're a gem! My team wanted to make a going away shirt one of our members. We took a while to make the design and then scrambled to find a place that could print them in time. We stumbled across Design Like WHOA (I love their name!). We reached out to them for a quote and an estimate on time (we needed them by Monday morning and it was Thursday afternoon when we put in our request). They got back to us a few minutes after we sent it! I was expecting a 24 hr response time. Gemma asked for the illustrator file and then shared some mock-ups for us. She was great at communicating with us and making sure we were completely satisfied with the mock-up before moving forward. To be clear, all this communication happened over the span of maybe 2-3 hours on the Thursday we contacted them. :) The total was cheaper than another place we were looking at and the turnaround time was far superior (we received an email letting us know they were done Friday afternoon!) When we got the shirts, they were perfect! So soft! And the color was just right (I was worried it would be too bright, but they really did a great job at making my vision come true!).
