They had a busy office with serious shark-type salespeople. One of them looked at my tiny dent, went away for 10 minutes, and returned with a laughably long list of needed services, with a price of more than $900. I poked around through the Yellow Pages (yep, I'm old-school) and stumbled on Brandywine Auto Body. I was surprised to discover an auto body shop in what seemed like a residential neighborhood, near the post office on Concord Pike. (In fact, I almost left without finding it; they need more signage.) Once I had found the shop, the proprietor looked at the damage and quickly whipped up a bill for about $500. The Yellow Pages ad said the shop had been around since 1975; clearly, this wasn't the original owner, but he sounded experienced and knowledgeable. After taking the estimate sheet home, I called in and said yes. He said it would take 3 or 4 days for the car to be ready (partly for the new paint to dry overnight). I dropped it off on a Monday ... and he called on Wednesday afternoon, saying it was done. I got there Thursday morning and found the damaged panel looking like new. Within a few minutes, I'd settled the bill and was on my way. In short: this was a better experience than I thought I might get from an auto body shop. With reasonable prices, good service, and (for me) a convenient location, they've earned my business if I ever again mar my beautiful vehicle.
