I see all the negative reviews and all I can do is state my experiences at this facility. I have been here 2 times including today 12/20 and have had no issues whatsoever. Today, I pulled into a parking spot, waited less than 1 minute, and forklift dude came over with a cart and I pushed our dryer into it. I walked over to cashier dude, had a pleasant conversation with him, and got paid 4 dollars. Now I could have dropped off my dryer at the dump down the street and PAID THEM about $20.00 to dispose of it, but instead EH Metal Recycling PAID ME $4.00. So for me, they are getting 5 stars for 2 visits. Thank you EH for providing this service! Not sure what goodie I will have for my next trip, but I will definitely bring it to EH. RACIST!!! ~ E H Metal Recycling I was the first person in line at E H Metal Recycling. I was the only one in the waiting area. Another truck (#2 Truck) pulled up and they were served by the forklift operator before me. I waited and then another 3rd truck pulled up and I was ignored again. I am a minority, 3rd generation Japanese American and I feel that I have been discriminated against. I have lived in the US my whole life. There is not other explanation for this, even the guy next to me that was in the 3rd truck could see what was going on and he offered to let me go in front of him even through I was there prior to anyone! So, I ended up giving this guy in the 3rd truck my metal recycling and I just left in disappointment and disgusted. You would think in this day and age, this would not happen anymore. This is very sad that this is still happening today. DO NOT give E H Metal Recycling your business. There are better prices and service in town but it was just convenient for me today. I am not an expert in the scrap metal world but what the hell? I unloaded my cargo van with 833 pounds - according to their scales - of fireplace hearth iron, chain link fireplace screens, and stair railing iron. The first of which was so heavy my teen son and I could barely lift it without a third person, and we are athletes. Great speed, they were at my van door within 1 min of my arrival and this place is across the street from the city dump, super convenient. The praise completely ends there. Go to collect payment and I'm quickly handed $6.78 in cash and no transaction record or paperwork. I walked away thinking I had no idea what I was doing, and perhaps it's right. Got back to the van and google searched metal prices for a baseline or something to work with, came across the iScrap app for iPhone. Put in my city and pushed current price averages for this particular day. Prices below. Calculating the 833 x the lowest price listed on there, I've been comically ripped off. Even I laughed. Considered letting it slide because I'm deaf and didn't come here for the money, but then I came here and saw the reviews. It was evident that some people actually called first to see what their metal was worth prior to making the decision to scrap it... and they typically received a lower price. When it's pots or pans or fencing, might not be a huge deal, but when it's 833 pounds it can sting. I wasn't okay with knowing these assholes were out to sting me and the next guy behind me. So I got out and headed for the entrance. "Can I get a transaction record, please?" I asked the asshole. "$6.78???" He replied. "Yeah. Yes please." Below is what he gave me. And when I asked why the receipt says just over 200 pounds when the scale says 833, he said the weight was inclusive of the bin that held all my metal. I'm willing to give the guy the benefit of the doubt and deduct the bin weight, but cmon, it is close to or similar to the heavy AF hearth iron my son and I could barely lift. It wasn't a 600 pound bin. While this is going on, my son sees a battery in the van and brings it into the other worker. 36 pounds is what that weighed. And he came out with $4. This place is just bad news all around. Cost me quite a bit all said and done. Yuck. read more

I called yesterday to find out what they were paying for #1 copper and they told me $2.10. Drove my motorhome all the way there today September 29th, 2022. I was paid $1.70 for my #1 copper. When i asked about it the guy slid a $1 bill through the window. I drove a motorhome and rolled in on gas fumes. Kick a guy when he is down! Information on the website about selling a catalytic converter was incomplete and incorrect, and the worker insisted on having the vehicle title (not on the website). He then offered me only $2 for my catalytic converter, most likely because I'm transgender. I will never be coming here again! I went to this place with the intention of teaching my recently divorced friend how to recycle for some extra cash for her kids. both guys, one of which who claimed to be the manager, were rude, snippy, and not very patient with us. the younger guy started out nicely, knew some sign language, but suddenly became surly and rude when we were confused as to what was expected of us. to top it all off, we got very little for the amount we brought in. First time in, took in 5 car batteries, a mongoose bike, 2.5lbs copper, 30+lbs misc metal and the kid at the register who spoke maybe 5 words handed me a $10 bill...are you kidding me?? The funny thing about this is when I told the guy the price my friend just got he said yeah you're not getting that here, but some just did. The reason why I give a one star is not for customer service , it's for the business practice my guy went on Friday and got somewhere between $.80-$.90 a pound for wire 14/4 and 16/4 gauge wire Secuirty and fire, not data cable. I show up with half of the same wire on a Sunday and I was told I would $.25 a pound so they're obviously not FARE with the prices. read more
