I live at Columbia view apartments, and I have had a large 40 yard container in front of my unit for months, waste connection keeps dumping it and putting it right back without changing out the maggots infested dumpster. The dumpster has huge holes leaking sewage and rot onto the ground creating an infestation of maggots all over the property. I have complained to them about this and they said I need to speak with the apartment complex about that. I have tried to do that on numerous occasions and they are ignoring the problem much like waste connections. This is a serious health issue, one that needs to be addressed, and one that is being created by waste connections faulty dumpsters. read more

Multiple times Waste Connections has failed to pick up yard debris because they say it was frozen. Same thing this last Monday. They claimed it was frozen too solid to pick up. Temps in low 30s. So I contacted them and they were to send out a driver the next day Tuesday. It was 31 degrees. Prior to pick up I had taken a shovel and made sure the leaves and debris were loose. Never picked up although when I called the rep said the driver said he tried to empty but it was frozen solid. At 31 degrees, and after I had gone out early in the am and shoveled everything loose. So I called them again and the rep said they can't come out again, that they'd give me a credit. It's taking me over a month just to get some fall leaves hauled away and still no progress. It's their word against yours, so they know they have a business monopoly, no worries there. If they see a bit of frost on bins they might just skip your bin at 31 degrees F. read more

Received our statement today to find we were being charged for the neighboring business's extra fees for having their dumpster overfilled and extra unscheduled pickups. Mistakes happen so we called Waste Connections to have this fixed. Upon further review of past invoices we have been getting all of the other business's extra fees for previous months. I recontacted Waste Connections and "Julie" advised me they will only correct overcharges for the current billing period!!! WTF?!?! Funny thing is we are scheduled as EOW pickup for our dumpster while the other business is a weekly pickup and these overcharges are for the days we don't even have pickup scheduled. Half star if I could. I won't even talk about the plethora of issues I've had regarding normal residential trash. But I ordered a Dropbox for renovation waste. You pay a $500 deposit for the dumpster and they credit you back if you owe less and charge you if you owe more. They sent me a statement saying I had a $397 credit. It says "CREDIT DO NOT PAY". I wait and wait, months, for the credit back to my card as the statement provided no instruction. I finally call and they say I have a past due balance of $16. Absolutely asinine. I checked the mail yesterday, I have yet to receive any further correspondence from them yet apparently my account is past due. Months thinking I would receive a credit only to find out I owe and my account is late because they did not mail me anymore statements. I didn't receive any emails or any calls. This is a fraudulent company! At the very least they are poorly managed and not able to maintain basic automatic communication. read more

I'm just starting with them. Trash is pricey in SW Washington. $6 per month for each additional large recycling bin. $30+ per month for additional large garbage bin. We'll see how their service is before passing judgement. read more

We have had to complain to the city/county about Waste Connections. They do their own thing when they want. They need competition to clean up their act. CS is horrible and you are raked over the coals with costs. I miss the east coast where rubbish removal was included in your taxes. When you say that things are better when the mob is in charge of waste disposal you know you are dealing with a bad company. They have a racket here and need competition. We have been charged extra when they miss a pickup. You have to watch your billing statements with them. read more

The on hold automated message for this company talks non stop, instead of just playing some music. Not only is this annoying when on hold for half an hour, but it also makes it harder to tell when an actual representative comes on the line. This is literally the worst company I have ever dealt with. They missed pickups at least ten times last summer. They make up reasons why. They always accuse me first by asking "when did you put it out there? was it blocked from view? was it overflowing?" Always the same accusations instead of taking responsibility. Then, I have to sit on hold for 15 minutes and beg for a credit on my bill. They sent me a calendar with bi-weekly recycling pickup which said my pickup is on the black weeks. Suddenly, they missed a pickup and when I called, they said "you have the yellow weeks". So, I left it out there all week. They missed the next week. I called and they said "you have the black weeks". Absolutely terrible people to deal with. Worst company ever. They will just cancel pickup for one reason or another and still bill you for it. I think that waste connections has horrible service. They cancel service at the slightest hint of inclement weather. If I miss a pickup I am charged extra for them to come back.If they miss it's tough shit save it until next week and put out twice as much for no extra charge. Why would there be an extra charge? I moved to the area 3 weeks ago. I have been trying to get my cans delivered ever since. They told me they were delivered, and didn't believe me when I said they weren't. They thought I just didn't know where to look. We have soooooo much recycling and trash piled from our move, and no way to get rid of them. Every day I call and spend a couple hours on hold. Waste Connections gave us a new garage can they want us to use. I live in the country and the animals get into the garbage cans and scatter the garbage all over the place. When I could use my own garbage can it had a locked lid and the animals could not get into the gargabe can. I have had to pick up all this garbage that they animals have spread all over the place. That is a lot of work. I am done picking up all the garbage it can just stay there. Also the garbage cans that Waste Connections gave us does not hold as much garbage as my personal garbage can. read more

Changed our recycle pickup from every week to every other week without lowering the cost. If I hired somebody to remodel my bathroom and they only did half the job why would I pay them full price. The recycling has been left half full numerous times. Last week - the driver didn't even dump my bin- even though it was sitting next to my neighbors. I called them and they said they'd send him back that day.. NEVER SHOWED UP. I've seen him sitting around the corner on his cell phone a few times. I think they need to do even more drug testing- and hold them accountable for performance. The recycling truck is the EASIEST job!! NEXT TIME I WILL put it in a trash bag and dump it at their gate. Seems like they don't want me to recycle- and I should JUST put EVERYTHING in the TRASH. At least then it would get picked up. --Last years' review: They can't seem to empty the recycling or yard debris consistently anymore. Unpredictable pick ups. I'm a paying customer who has "scheduled" pick ups every week. They miss a pick up on my street at least once per month. Horrible response times when you call in, no one ever answers. They broke a tree branch of my tree when they picked up the garbage one week, didn't leave a note or anything. I have been a residential customer of Waste Connections for around 18 years. They are constantly not picking up my recycle and garbage. I am now in a situation where it has been 7 weeks, yes SEVEN WEEKS SINCE MY RECYCLE HAS BEEN PICKED UP! I have called most every week to let them know, and they say they will get it picked up, but they haven't. Finally, some customer service person had the common sense to send my case to a supervisor. Which I believe they need to have some sort of process in place for cases lie this, whereas if the garbage is not picked up by the second week, get a supervisor involved. It has been 7 weeks for us already. I will be looking for alternative pick up services, as this is getting to be too much trouble!!!!! read more

How goofy is this, reviewing my garbage service? So I had a problem with my trash not getting picked up for a couple of weeks so I finally called the customer service line after hours (and dropped an e-mail as back up), outlining my problem. The next morning at 8:30am the customer service called me, let me know there was a clerical mix up and my service had shown up as canceled. The service rep said that someone would be out that day to pick up trash, and recycling and sure enough all happened at the time they said it would. Here's the thing, people make mistakes and when I was contacted they admitted as much, then corrected it to my satisfaction immediately. I think that needs to be recognized. read more

I contacted waste connections to set up an account. The lady I talked to was very helpful and made it easy/quick to set up my account. She gave me all the information I needed to know about my garbage pick up schedule and I was told that I was good to go to have my garbage picked up that Friday. Come Friday, my garbage was never picked up. I contacted waste connections to see if they could come get it. I explained that I had just moved so my garbage was completely full and I couldn't wait another week. The customer service rep was so great and made sure that my garbage was picked up Monday without an extra charge for going out of their way to correct their mistake. I am giving them 5 stars because of the great customer service! read more

The worst customer service in the industry! They never return phone calls. Do not sign their contract without making significant changes to the terms and conditions. They try and tie you up for several years and raise regularly rates. Avoid at all cost! read more
