I cannot say enough about this place!! My back was against the wall to find a location to celebrate my brother's 40th birthday, and Eight & Sand did NOT disappoint!! Tonight could not have gone better! From the space we were provided, the ability to have our mobile cigar guy there, and the beer selection! Everything from the initial contact to the execution of the night was perfect! I am so appreciative of the staff for allowing us to use their beautiful space! He was surprised and truly enjoyed his night. This will surely be on my hang out list for outings to come! Very warm and welcoming environment. The other guests were awesome, as well!! If you're looking for a great local brewing company with a nice tasting room and beer garden and of course great options, look no further! I left without getting my growler but I will surely return for it! Lol
I've visited this spot a few times when I've been in the area spending time with family. Both times have been great experiences! This time we visited on a cold day so we hung out inside, but they do have a nice outdoor area when it's a bit warmer out! During this visit, I enjoyed the Holiday Hef and the Ginger Lime seltzer. The staff were friendly and allowed lots of tasters so we had an opportunity to try any of the beers we were interested in. We also brought in our own growlers and purchased some beer to go.
How has this brewery been so close to me and this is my 1st time going?!!! One of my top rated breweries thus far and I'm so excited it's not too far from me :-) Lots of space inside.... Open and airy.. lots of seating available inside and outside. Lots of parking all around. Brews Lots of different brews to choose from.. when we went, they had 20 beers on tap! I really enjoyed their IPA sours!! The names of the brews were also very entertaining and something appreciate and just makes me want to try more of their brews. I like sour beers but can't drink too much of it. The IPA part makes these even better tho! Flights are available which so awesome so you can try before committing... and just makes it fun to try as many as you can to get a taste for all! There was only one that I really thought was weird and took me a while to get down.. it was the Smokes Pineapple Hefeweizen... just flavors weren't my cup of tea. Overall... 5 stars for this south Jersey brewery! Will definitely be a regular spot for us! Even if you're not close, take a trip and stop by here and stop by the other breweries close by! Many great places to try out!
If you want to find a great brewery with a chill inside and outside atmosphere, look no further. As soon as you walk into this brewery, it is totally open with the bar directly in front of you and some mixed seating all around as well. Behind the bar is a huge window that is really cool because you can see how they make the beer. They also have a huge variety of games to choose from which is awesome and a backyard area where you can sit outside if it's a nice day! So beer menu was really great as was all the beer. They have a great variety and a great selection as well with about 20 beers rotating on the menu. I like that this wasn't a place that has 40-50 beers on tap because I feel like this a quantity that is manageable and secures that the beer is going to taste delicious. My husband is very into hazy IPAs and they had a really nice one here called IPA No 2 which was delicious. Definitely hoppy but not overwhelming and really easy to drink. I got the cocoa brass pounder which was really rich in chocolate with some nice bitter coffee bites as well. For a stout, it didn't feel overwhelming heavy which was nice to have when it is a little bit colder outside or on a nice rainy day. Overall, the staff was incredibly informative in letting you know what the beers were going to taste like and even giving little samples that were just a sip so you can know if it is something that you're going to enjoy. I would definitely either sit in the backyard area outside if it's a nice day or at the bar because the interaction with the staff is so nice and their backyard area also makes you feel like you're somewhere else; it is really nicely done. Cannot wait to come back and bring a whole group next time!
Eight & Sand is one of the better breweries in NJ, out of the 113 that I have visited. They are definitely one of the best in the South Jersey / Suburban Philly area. I have been there now on two separate occasions. They just make all around good beer of all different types in an unpretentious way. Their flavors tend to be more sophisticated and subtle. Their atmosphere is clean and modern. They have a nice bar area, which will hopefully reopen soon after measures get relaxed. They have table seating, too. It was also table service this time. The staff are all funky and cool. The beer I liked best was also available in cans, so I made sure to grab some. It was a chocolate raspberry stout, which I would recommend to anyone ... even if you don't like overly sweet foods. This beer tasted dark and natural.
Found a great deal on Groupon for Eight & Sand, so stopped by on a recent Sunday for some brews. For ~$28, we got a tasting for 2, including a flight for each of us, a full pour for each of us, and a glass for each of us - a great deal! We were pleased to see that the brewery was only about 20 min from our place in Philly, and it wasn't a bad drive at all. The Groupon was only redeemable on Thurs and Sun, so we headed out around 5PM and were pleased to see a decent number of people but still plenty of space to spread out and enjoy safely. Eight & Sand has a very large outdoor space, as well as ample indoor seating both at the bar and at tables in the main area. The had various board games inside to use if wanting, and the space outside looks like it has fire pits for the cooler months (although difficult to determine if they were functional). We snagged a picnic table outside and had the whole little area to ourselves. We saw in advance that Eight & Sand doesn't have food, but is BYO, so we brought dinner in from a restaurant in Philly to have alongside our beers. The BYO was clutch - given the large volume of alcohol we received with our Groupon, we definitely didn't want to go hungry! In terms of actual beer, Eight & Sand had 20 beers on tap, which made indecisive me a little nervous! Their varieties included IPAs, sours, stouts, saisons, and ales, so truly something for everyone. Our bartender was awesome and guided us through the list, providing recommendations based on our interests. I focused on mostly fruit / sweeter options, going for the Sand & Tide (lemon sour), coffee porter, Buzzkeeper (saison with honey), and despite the summer weather, the Somethin' Pumpkin (pumpkin beer). The lemon sour was definitely the most seasonal of the ones I chose, and I wound up getting this one for my full pour - it was quite refreshing and not too heavy with a little bit of a bite! The others were all good - the saison was a bit more beer-y than I was expecting, but still good, the pumpkin was smooth and lighter than expected, and the coffee porter was the right amount of heaviness and smoothness. My fiancee focused on their IPAs, which he spoke highly of! He was impressed with the number of offerings they had. The Groupon deal definitely was worth it for the amount of beer we got - I'm really glad they didn't rush us out since it took me a good bit of time to finish everything! The hospitality was very welcoming, and the space was great for small and large groups alike, even in a pandemic. We definitely would like to make it back for a trivia night and to try some of the other beers, including in-time seasonal ones. I keep coming back for the Hefeweizen, always on tap. When a micro-brewery makes the classics well, it has my loyalty until Jesus returns on the clouds with an Irish Stout in one hand and a German Hefeweizen in the other. One day post blizzard, the patrons are sparse but I'm here for the Hefe. Gonna try the Nitro Stout and take one home in my 32 ounce bottle, refillable from E&S. The Nitro Stout is perfect. Drink as a recovery shake, after a marathon, or to wean a baby from his mother!
We found ourselves in the neighborhood and decided to check this place out. The servers were super friendly and even hooked us up with plates and disposable silverware as we brought our own food with us but neglected to get silverware. It was a good crowd for a saturday night and there were plenty of things on tap that we were able to try. I liked how they had it decorated for Halloween! If we find ourselves in this neighborhood again we will be back
Stopped by during the rainstorm on a Friday night to meet up for a drink with a few people. I was surprised to find that they were really packed! They have a small parking lot, but luckily there are plenty of places to park along the street as well (this is when I noticed their food truck out back!) There are bar seats, high tops, and tables, plus apparently outdoor seating (which of course was closed during this storm). Live music was playing too. I was surprised to see such a huge craft beer selection. I had to go with a flight so that I could try as much as I could, and I chose the beers based off of the type, without reading the descriptions. The session IPA was surprisingly light, the dubbel was tasty, and the Steel & Snow (Belgian tripel) has bourbon flavor in it! The Irish Red tasted a bit more like a brown ale, in my opinion. I met the owner, who was very friendly. Service was fast and friendly despite the crowds. I tried to get some of that bourbon Belgian tripel to-go but they'd just sold out. I'd love to come again to try more of their beers though!
We had a fun time coming here from a LivingSocial deal that got us across state lines and out of our comfort zone- or maybe that's just the feeling whenever I come to New Jersey... either way the place was hosting what seemed to be an Eagles party or a wedding reception.. we couldn't decide what it was but the beers were fun and the outdoor space in the back was much appreciated on a nice day in the summer!
WOODBURY: Eight & Sand Beer Co is a dog friendly brewery and a great spot to check out during travel to South Jersey. Leashed and friendly dogs are allowed inside the tasting room and at the outdoor patio. The indoor tasting room is cozy and there were families celebrating the holidays with their friends. The outdoor space is really nice with adirondack chairs and fire pits. There is even a fully covered outdoor porch as another seating option. We tried the Monkey & The Engineer hefeweizen, Holiday Hef hefeweizen, Somethin' Pumpkin, and they were all solid and tasty! There are 20 beers on tap in a variety of styles. Watch the game on their TVs, bring your own food, and enjoy the day out with your whole family! They have a parking lot and there is also street parking. Eight & Sand is right next to the train tracks and they are inspired by trains in the naming of their place which wishes train crews a quick & safe travels. read more

We came here after dinner on a Thursday evening. The parking lot seemed small but it was fine. The bartender was friendly which I always am thankful for! I tried the pumpkin yam beer which I liked so I ordered a glass of of that. It was good! It didn't have a strong pumpkin or yam flavor. I forget the first beer my boyfriend had but then he ordered the stout (can pour). That was good....i tried it! read more

This was the first stop on our holiday brewery tour in South Jersey. This is a well designed space with quality beers brewed. The husband had the Saison which he enjoyed, I had the coffee porter which was amazing. We didn't spend much time here as we were going to a few other breweries in the area and we were hungry. Although the brewery allows outside food we did not see anyplace in the immediate area to grab and bring in. Wishing for some of that porter as I write this review. read more

Great addition to the local brewery scene. Good beers, very friendly staff. Be ready to take a quick tour, as the state requires it. They have a great beer garden area. Food trucks would be a great addition since they cant serve food. read more
Nice micro brewery. The space is clean an modern with an industrial feel (which I like). They have several taps running and you can see the vessels through the window behind the bar. I had the Coffee Porter and the Bad Hombre. The Coffee porter nice and full bodied with definite coffee and chocolate notes. The Bad Hombre is a milk stout with hot peppers. I liked that as well as it is unique but I think as a daily beverage I would just like to milk stout without the pepper. Nice place, friendly staff and good beer! Go visit! read more
What a cute little local brewery! This is the first local brewery in NJ that had all their sh*t together before they opened. The brewery was clean and spacious. They had about 6 beers to pick from and their staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Very impressed. My favorite was the stout. Very smart of them to do a few soft openings before doing a grand opening. We'll definitely be back! read more

Again, I love that Woodbury is finally coming back and getting some much deserved love! I absolutely love the owners, Chris and Chris. They are friendly and so so knowledgeable. I've tried all their beers and I think their English Mile is my favorite. But it's definitely a hard decision choosing between them all. It's cool you can bring in your own food or order from local places. (Try Bo Ne!) The bartenders are super friendly, too! There are fire-pits and seating outback which is awesome during the nice weather. So happy to see these guys doing so well so early on!! Kudos guys!! read more

We were lucky enough to be there on a night where it wasn't overly crowded. I thought ipa #2, which is their flagship beer, really was a home run. There were 17 beers on tap and all of them were above average with a few great finds like the surprising Palo Santo Brass Pounder with a delicious, but not overbearing, coconut finish. Looking forward to a return trip. read more

Pretty cool place, first time here and I must say I had a good time. I got a rail which is their version of a beer flight. I tried the coffee porter, nitro bock, the Belgium dubbel and the hefeweizen. I liked the coffee porter the best and the dubbel the least but all pretty solid choices. I also tried my friends barelywine and I thought that was awesome as well. I would be excited to come back here during nicer and warmer weather to check out there fire pits and yard in the back. This place seems like a great addition to the Woodbury area. read more

Typical local brewery, so that amounts to mediocre beer. Nice bar inside and some of the brews were decent. Tasting flights make for a good spot to drink away an afternoon. read more
