Store was clean, neat and orderly. I was able to find something that fit what I was looking for…read morewhich was a type of platform sandal. I also found a nice bag that I also was thinking about getting. Was suprised that I saw a style that I liked: classic, tailored cut and leather. The cashier introduced me to the silicone spray which at first I thought was a gimmick but I think there is some real benefit to it as it coats. I think it also helps with the structure and shape thus integrity of the shoe. The machine has a camera inside so you can actually see that it is spraying. This is great for some types of shoes. I plan to bring my other pairs, it doesn't have to be bought from DSW.

It's still a terrible shopping experience! Good for them for being consistent…read more The selection is pretty good, and the people working there are nice enough. There aren't many of them. There is no one really walking around the floor, so you basically have to move heaven and earth to track someone down. Also, there are not enough benches (correct term?) where you try on the shoes. There is one per aisle, at most, and that doesn't work so well when it's busy. Still an issue is the whisper-at-most of AC in this store. Plenty of stores maintain a pleasant temperature - I get it if they don't want the store too cold. But here, it was hot and muggy. I felt more sweaty here than outside! It was so gross, and I didn't think I'd run into that in an indoor location, but oh well. The prices were pretty good, with the exception of the shoes that were not eligible for promotions (that might've come from above, though, like Nike corporate or Addidas corporate, and not their fault at DSW). I saved 20% off an already reasonable price by signing up for their newsletter as a ~*~*VIP~*~. The 20% off being available through that method only should've been communicated better at the outset, but oh well. I saved 20% and got some cool gym shoes, so that's good at least.

Such a great experience at Fleet Feet this week!…read more I started running a few months ago and was wearing some older shoes that were well-worn and also the wrong size. Because I've stuck with running - and because I have a history of plantar fasciitis (repaired with two surgeries) - I decided to treat myself to a shoe fitting and new pair of running shoes. Al, who helped me on my visit, could not have been nicer or friendlier. He asked me a few questions about my running, what shoes I'm currently wearing or have previously worn, and then he did the foot scan. After reviewing it with me, he brought up four different running shoes for me to try on - Hoka, Asic, New Balance and Brooks. He was well-versed in the differences between each and was helpful in parsing through what I liked (or didn't) in each pair. After I selected the winner, he checked inventory for my preferred colorway. They didn't have it in stock but assured me it would be delivered on Monday from another location. He recommended a pair of socks, too, and made the checkout process super quick. On Monday afternoon, I called the store to see if the shoes were in (a little eager to go on a run). Jane was kind enough to check to see if they were there and let me know they were. I went for a run after picking them up, and am super happy with my selection. The amount of cushion is perfect for me, and I could feel a difference in my pace. My heels didn't hurt at all when I finished, which is a huge win for me and my bionic foot! I'll definitely be back for future running shoe needs. This was a great experience, and I'm so glad I stopped in!

On a whim, I decided to head out and check out the new store. I purposely left my debit card at home and went *shopping* with my iPhone camera. I conveniently parked in the onsite parking lot and went in. I immediately noticed that the store feels a bit sparse and airy, but it's probably because everything is nicely organized and well curated. Off to the right you'll find a nice selection of handbags and a somewhat hidden checkout counter. You'll find name brand sunglasses, and a nice selection of workout clothes (don't miss the 70% off rack). Like any outlet store, you can be expected to to spend some time browsing the sale racks. But it's worth it, because I spotted a great blazer I would come back and purchase to wear with jeans. The coat selection is great. Though I don't want to think about coat shopping, this would be a good time to do it before the men's and women's coats are picked over. There is a men's section in the back. On to the shoes. If you're a woman size 8-8.5, I found that size to have the most variety. They have newer shoes, only slightly discounted, mixed with sale shoes. I would come back for a special outfit for a special occasion. As far as everyday shopping, I would have to come back with more time in my schedule...oh...and my debit card!

The employee never even acknowledged me. She went to find the item for the other person. Fine. I get waiting my turn. The employee then proceeded to ring up the customer and then went ahead and did the rest of her purchases, about 20-25 items all non jewelry. Then the woman paid her $250 bill with $20 credits. Not once did the employee apologize or acknowledge that I was waiting while she did a sale for mainly non jewelry. The manager came over and grabbed a key but never acknowledged me. Came back about 5-10 minutes later as I still stood waiting. Asked how to help then told me I would have to wait. At this point is was clear I was frustrated after waiting over 20 minutes. The first apology I got but it was only kind of half hearted and at this point it was 25 minutes too late. I have no trouble waiting my turn. But I was there before that sale even started. That employee should've said I'm sorry, but given that there's other people waiting, (myself and someone else behind me) I'm going to have to ask you to make the rest of your purchase at the front of the store. There are so many other TJ Maxx that are so much better than this one anyways. I'd save your time on this one.
