I love what this store stands for-------the clothing industry is a terrible worldwide polluter. Lots of colorful, casual, well-made, soft tops and pants. Good fabric and good stitching. Friendly staff. The clothes aren't my style, and neither are the sizes. (which are VERY hard to decipher, btw. I hate having to ask how much an item is but it just wasn't clear. The tags and labels are both hard to read.) The last time I went, most of the items were petite, and the ones that weren't were XL. That just doesn't help me, unfortunately. I've been a 20+ year customer of Eileen Fisher, and, more recently, of Eileen Fisher Renew. I have liked what they stand for and how they design and manage their clothing. Recently, though, I had a surprisingly bad customer service experience: a shipping notification without a tracking number, a missing order (more than 3 weeks past the stated delivery date), and nonexistent customer service (1 week without any contact, so far). I purchased 2 pairs of pants (one corduroy, one wool) at a busy evening Event. Both were on the "full price" racks in the front of the store, not the "seconds" in the back. The next day, I wore the cords. They were missing a belt loop which is a problem since I have a small waist/upper hip and need a belt to draw up the extra fabric. The pants sag down on one side as the belt moved up-not a comfortable or good look. Next day, I wore the second pair-wool trousers - to work. I noticed about 1 1/2 inch of seam was open below the center front zipper. Not good. 2 out of 2 fails. I took both back to the store and showed the first pair. They told me I couldn't return the cords, all sales final. Disappointed, thinking they wouldn't take back the second pair either, since all sales are final, I showed them the hole in the second pair. They took the pants back and refunded my money. (They can send those back to have the seam repaired and resell them.) I am grateful they refunded the purchase price on the wool pair. I wanted to wear both pairs, but also wanted to get fully functional, if used, pants. Disappointed that both purchases had a problem. Glad they refunded at least one pair. Disappointed that they didn't acknowledge selling me second quality at the price of first quality (but also used). This review was posted 11/24/2018 and disappeared from Yelp. Who doesn't love quality fabric at a fraction of the price? Ridiculous ppl that's who. I was strolling through Columbia city one day when I stumble upon this gem. Immediately I was drawn in by the window displays but when I went inside I was surprised by the prices. Having never heard of Ellen Fisher I was unaware of exactly what I was in for. I perused the store and found a few things that I wanted but was too much of a cheapskate to pay for. The store employees were so very helpful and explained Ellen fishers commitment to the environment. These facts made me even more interested in the clothing in store. I found a few pieces that I was lucky were still left on the shelf because they were phenomenally priced. I will be sure to pop in frequently to scour the shelves for good deals. This store is really great in Columbia City. People return worn Eileen Fisher garments which are refurbished and cleaned and put on sale for about 1/3 of the original price. The store offers a lower price way to enjoy great Eileen Fisher clothes. The salespeople are very friendly and helpful. Another great Seattle shopping place in another great little Seattle neighborhood with interesting coffee shops and restaurants and other shops. read more

This is an amazing place. I am a long time Eileen Fisher customer that just discovered this wonderful store. The concept is perfect and amazing. I was able to donate my own gently used Eileen Fisher clothes (was ready to move on from them but they were in great shape) and get new (new to me) amazing pieces. Sometimes there are new items from this season items that people donate (still have the original tag). Those finds are a lot of fun. For those that understand and appreciate the quality of Eileen's clothes, you will find the prices to be wonderful. Also, today I participated in one of their clothes mending workshops and learned how to mend my sweaters so I can get a long life out of them. Christina was great. I love this place. I've always been curious about this location, but for some reason have always failed to visit when I'm in the area. Today, I finally went in for the first time and I'm kicking myself for waiting so long to have shopped there. Both of the sales associates were so helpful, patient, and passionate about the brand and assisted me with the layout of the store. I know I'm not often seen as a 'typical' Eileen Fisher client (and have been ignored at other locations) however, they were great about greeting me when I came in the store and were kind enough to place my clothes in a dressing room as I shopped. The selection of clothes exceeded my expectations and prices were amazing considering the original retail rate of EF clothes (think $45-80 on average compared to new items costing $80-200). I was able to find a handful of items that were season appropriate, high quality, clean, and fit perfectly! A portion of the proceeds are donated to charities benefiting women, children, and the environment and they also offer a rewards program for items that you bring in to 'recycle'. Also, the conveyer belt clothes rack is amazing. I'll definitely be returning. read more

This place is great! I read an article about it and had to check it out when in visiting from Houston. The visible mending pieces are just lovely and there's a great selection of Eileen Fisher classics and statements in her always well considered fabric choices. I love what Eileen Fisher is doing and I hope it is just the beginning. I purchased a linen cardigan and a silk shell for very fair prices. Fewer better things! read more

I love the concept of Renew and have purchased a few items from the online store. (I live in the middle of the country - nowhere near even a regular EF retail store.) I have had both hits and misses with the clothing from them. Shipping and customer service have been good but I've had 2 primary issues. First, my definition of "good as new" is clearly different than theirs. I do not expect perfection but don't consider sweaters with pulls and light to moderate pilling to fit in that category. I'd appreciate more careful "grading" of wear. Second, I would be far more likely to purchase from them if the style numbers were given!!! The original garment names are often not used, and the limited photos aren't great. One often can't see all of the garment's features/characteristics, and there's no perspective for measurements (like length). For example, today I received 2 sweaters. One is exactly what I expected, as its style was clearly recognizable, however, the other sweater was much longer than expected and had extra long side slits. The item was presented as having NO side slits in the photos, which is what I wanted. I would be far more likely to purchase more from Renew if I knew the style numbers, especially because I'm often looking for an EF style I already own but in a different color. It seems as though this would be a fairly simple piece of information to add. I apologize for the long rant! I read more

Get your booty over here! A great cause, fabulous clothes, sustainability - this place is going to be perfect in Seattle! All profits go towards organizations that support women and girls around the world. How awesome is that?! Green Eileen is a recycling clothing brand, selling gently used Eileen Fisher clothes at a more reasonable rate than average Eileen Fisher clothing. You can even donate your Eileen Fisher clothes to the store. My friend told me I had to visit this store so last Sunday I decided to drive to Columbia City to see what it was about. The clothes are timeless, and made with quality material. They had such a cool way of displaying the clothes where all the clothes are on a conveyor belt and it rotates. so if you want to see the next section of clothes, you just tell the store and they'll rotate the clothes so you can see the other section of clothes. All of the sale staff were wonderful, as I spent a lot more time then I originally planned and they helped me find more items. My bill at the end was a little steep for me, items range from $40 (shirts), $50 (jeans) , $80 (dresses) but I know that's a deal compared to an original Eileen Fisher garment. But I know I bought quality items I'll be wearing often and I have somewhat of a good conscious knowing my money is going to a good cause. Check this place out for yourself :) read more

My mother loves eileen fisher. I wanted to buy my mother something to wear to a charity event. it didn't work out. We went to exchange it for something else and were rudely told that wasn't an option because the money goes to charity. We weren't asking for any money back, so I am not sure why that was the response. If there are strict rules regarding exchanges, it should be mentioned during the checkout process. Shame on you. I will never shop here or at any company that sells this brand. read more

I've been coming here for years. Love the quality fabrics and design of EF clothes. Thrilled to buy vintage instead of new. Great physical space and I love the color clustering of the clothes and the old school revolving dry cleaners rack. BUT every time I come in I get a fake friendly sorority sister vibe. I cringe every time they say "oh that looks amazing on you" when I inadvisedly slip on a hideous burlap sack dress. And it's been this way for several years across multiple rotations of sales staff. All smiles and welcome until you actually ask for something like a different size or an open dressing room or can you hold this for a couple of hours? Then this bizarro vibe kicks in like "how dare you disturb our club meeting with your petty problems you insignificant pleb?!" At first I thought I was just catching a bad day on their end, then maybe on my end. But then I went in with my adult daughter and (not having ever complained of this to her) the first thing she said when we walked out was "Wassup with the catty sorority sisters? It's like they don't know what customer service is!) and this from a young woman who works in women's clothing sales. I love Eileen F and, truth be told, I'll probably be back, but I'm gonna don my Wonder Woman arm bands and breast shield first. Ouch - those laser beam eyes. I have supported Eileen Fisher for over ten years; I love the label's iconic style and the quality of its fabrics and workmanship. That said, coupled by my own personal philanthropic values and environmental awareness; I was excited when I found Green Eileen . . . I am a recent stroke victim. My son immediately flew in from San Francisco to care-take; well, when I told him about Green Eileen ... he created an afternoon surprise by taking me to Columbia City ... he spent over an hour and selected 2 items as a gift; I was hesitant but he was so excited . . . it was a wrap!!! When I got home, unfortunately I could not make the pieces work; and called Green Eileen to inquire about an exchange. I was told no. I don't understand how an exchange would impact business policy; especially in light of the circumstances. I am in tears as I relive this experience and picture the look of joy on my son's face when he made this purchase. I am an individual who has a lifetime of experience in the non-profit world; and I would like to add: please be mindful that the non-profit's success is grounded by the support of its donors; and in Green Eileen's case, your customers are your donors. read more
