Enter Indian Summer--the best local purveyor of vintage and modern clothes, housewares, and art. I've long looked for this booth at markets and group sales because I would always find something I fell in love with. They have a brick and mortar in the sweetest neighborhood, and I'm so thrilled that sales run out of the studio and storefront these days. I recently saw this place on the internet and I was very enthusiastic to check them out. I'm a big fan of vintage clothing, especially lingerie. But it's not always so easy to find bigger sizes. Not impressed at all. It's very small, prices are high, and customer service is terrible. I found a couple of cute dresses but I could go to Macy's and buy a new and similar dress for the same price or a few bucks more. The employee was very busy talking with her friend to notice me or anyone else coming in the shop. I wanted to try something on so I politely excused myself for interrupting and asked about a dressing room. She pointed it out to me and I went it. I didn't end up getting anything. I said thank you and got absolutely no response. I felt really weird/uncomfortable. I won't be back. read more

Indian Summer is the best vintage and resale shop in the city, hands down, period, end of all sentences. Good for queers, good for fats, good for femmes, good for anyone who wants to feel celebrated in their body, whatever that body may be. Had a fantastic experience meeting the owner Adria again yesterday again at the Punk Rock Flea Market. I not only venture miles miles out to see her there . I love this adorning shop with all its vintage treasures. I always find something either retro or vintage. This time I picked a stunning vintage suit an a retro floral dress I cannot wait to wear. She had time to chat vintage with me as well as juggling her customers in her line there at market. Very knowledgeable on her sizing ,an eras. Her prices are spot on for collectors. There is a array of clothing to choose from. Overall I love love this shop an how friendly the owner is. This is why I love to visit her shop an buy from her. read more

After reading the other reviews I was excited about checking out Indian Summer; hoping for some awesome vintage finds. I was surprised to find a very modest shop on what looked like a residential street. I walked in and was greeted by a friendly woman behind the small counter. The place is again, quite small and didn't take long to browse through. Im not sure how to describe the style- I suppose vintage in a funky, eccentric sort of way...leather riding pants, 90's looking dresses, lots of funky belts and boots. But unfortunately, nothing I could ever see myself wearing. I agree with other reviewers that the place was clean and didn't have that old dingy smell that a lot of vintage shops may have. The sales person was friendly in her greeting and didn't bother me as I browsed which I appreciate. Overall, I'd say, if you're looking for truly funky, unique pieces, then its worth checking it out. I see this shop being for those with truly daring style. If you're looking for classic and timeless vintage pieces, I would try elsewhere. read more

Amazing, incredible, awesome are the first three words I kept repeating when I first walked into this quaint thrift boutique. Great selection of artwork too with handpicked array of vintage clothing, shoes and home goods. Definitely stop by if you're looking to add attitude and character to your pad and/or personal style. I live across the street from this place and only stepped in this last weekend. The store owner is great and super helpful. The selection is varied and unique, I walked out with two pieces after 5 minutes of shopping. The store doesn't have a used clothes smell, which is a big plus and I often see the owner steaming the pieces. I love that she takes care of the clothes =) and I will def come back more often. read more

So happy to stumble across this place! I can't believe I'd never heard of it. Very different from a lot of the vintage spots around town, but in the best ways. It is tiny, but very clear they are handpicking each piece in there with a lot of thought. Lots of different sizes, colors and styles that would be flattering on a wide variety of beings. I'm excited to go back and see how often they restock because I'm thinking it may be one of those places that ends up having one perfect thing for you each time you go in (those spots are pure magic)! On my first visit I thought I'd browsed the whole store, and while I found a lot of things to oooh over, nothing that quite fit me. BUT as I was saying thank you to the lovely sales associate and walking to the door I saw the most phenomenal black velvet sequin bolero.... It fits like it was made for me and it was only $30, I'm in love. Definitely coming back, this place has the magic. read more

I liked this tiny place. The sales guy was hip and friendly, and coincidentally my first time in the store happened on a day when everything was 25% off since the owner was getting a bunch of new items in. I tried to find out when this might happen again, but the guy was very vague... I guess there is no sale schedule. They had cute clothes from ~'50s to early '90s, and things seemed to be quite reasonably priced. Got a pair of low-slung leather boots and a studded belt for $28 before the sale was applied. Hot damn! They don't have a return policy, but the guy implied that the owner is reasonable and would take something back if there was good cause. Would surely pop in again, if only to be amused by the ridiculously "trendy" clientele. read more

i was looking forward to seeing what this place is about after i read olivia kim's recommendation of it. i know seattle is pretty lackluster in vintage and well curated boutiques but she said this one reminds her of ones in ny. unfortunately i wouldn't go that far, maybe she meant the attitude haha. the shopowner was busy talking to her friend and didn't even bother to greet me. there is just one dressing room as the place is small. i wanted to try on a skirt but i think the other custy was her friend and kept going in and out. i didn't really find anything but the prices are alright and i would revisit to see if anything i want to buy pops up. read more

I live around the corner from this place, I've been in a few times and have purchased a few pieces for great prices. It's easy to look at every rack which organized nicely by color and type. The owner has been there every time I've come in, she has a really warm smile and easy demeanor, I'll continue to stop in as long as I live here for my impulse shopping fix ;) read more
