My girlfriend and I were watching "Texas Country Reported" a few days before Christmas and this joker Philips was praising the Pecan Cakes at Eilenberger Bakery and how great they were, and how many they sold each year. Little did we know this show was a dated repeat of a show from a Christmas past! We drove over to Palestine the next da,y from Waco, and the factory and retail store is out of buisness. A sign on the door said you could still order their cakes from a company in Florida. On Dec. 22nd. I ordered a Pecan cake for 32.90 and got an e-mail on the same day that they had shipped my order and charged my debit card. I checked my bank and sure enough the money had been transfered to their account. Today is Jan. 29th. and I still have no cake or credit and have been given the run around by their customer service rep. Janet I wouldn't recommend buying from this company or ordering anything from them. This company now outsources their online orders to Florida and service is terrible. They sent my Christmas order to the wrong address and when I called they refused a refund. They said they would only replace the order. That didn't arrive until mid January, a bit late for the holidays, to put it mildly. We went to the Marry of Puddin Hill web site to order a fruit cake. Was referred to this bakery. Went ahead and ordered a fruit cake from them. That was a mistake. It certainly wasn't even close to be as good as a Mary of Puddin Hill fruit cake. This one was crumbly and falling apart and was very dry. It would not slice. I ordered from you last year and had no problems with delivery or quality. My cakes finally arrived but I am still waiting for the european delivery. I have had 7 phone calls to your service and still no one can tell me where the delivery for germany is. In the beginning it took two phone calls for some one to reassure me that they had the product that I had ordered. There have been 3 no return calls so far. If I do not hear from them today as promised I am cancelling my Germany order. The quality of the cakes that I ordered for myself is great. I do not understand why your call service has to email Eilenberg and wait for a reply to even tell me whether you have the product in stock that I ordered. read more

Horrible customer service! I found out after my payment was processed that the shipping was $29 on top of the product that was also $29 for a total of $60! I tried to quickly cancel the order and was told there was no one I could talk to I would have to leave a message and they would call me back! No one called. I called the next day and after two attempts was given the phone number of someone to call after (FYI # is 903-723-2654). She told me she would see what she could do to cancel the order and hung up on me! I called back to verify the order was cancelled and she finally said the order was cancelled!! Eilenberger's Bakery has the BEST Birthday cakes on the planet. They are so moist, and the Buttercream frosting is to die for!

My father Elmer Lee Caskey work for Eilenberger's for a long long time.When I was a little girl. He bake bread sometime he would bring some home .Ever time I would come back to Palestine to see him I would stop in Eilenberger's. I'm 55 now ...still think about that BREAD.lol On saturday we would walk to the moveis waiting in line my dad would be in there baking. The best fruitcake we've ever eaten by far. One year the tin it came it was dented. I called and without question, they replaced it free of charge. The shipping is slow, but what do you expect for a freshly baked cake? Christmas wouldn't be the same without their cake! And the price? WELL WORTH EVERY PENNY!!! read more

Sadly for the past 15 years the ability to manage orders has declined to the point that I am now order only the occasional gift cake from Eilenberger's. (In prior years I ordered as many as a dozen cakes during the year!) Due to the shipping snafus that have worsened I sent only one cake from Eilenberger this year. Online. HUGE mistake. It did NOT arrive on time (two weeks after the order was placed the recipient still did NOT have their gift), and after two emails and a half dozen calls I finally spoke with "Carolyn" who told me, "...well ma'am I'll just tell you I am behind. Last week I just didn't even answer any emails or anything." When asked WHY no tracking info was forthcoming, she again did her song and dance and told me, "...the people who do the baking have to pack the orders and it looks like yours got delayed somehow. It shows that it should be delivered tomorrow. It just went out yesterday...we're having some kind of trouble with the emails..." THIS was two weeks after I had placed my order checking the immediate delivery option (the distance between them and my gift recipient is 193 miles...)! I told "Carolyn" that her responses were unsatisfactory and I would like to speak with someone at the corporate level. She adamantly refused to provide either an extension or an email so that I might voice my concerns with the worsening services they were providing. She stated, "I'm not giving you any names. I don't give out names..." So a month after the order was placed, the cake delivered (late) and in spite of agreeing to at least refund the S&H, I discover THAT has not occurred. I've just had the misfortune to speak with "Carolyn" again...Happy (NOT) New Year. More song and dance, no apology, and in fact she bristled when I wanted to know why the refund had not been issued...again refused to provide a corporate entity with whom I could communicate...and again told me "I don't give out names..." According to my gift recipient the cake was dry, not nearly the quality of past years and the late delivery was beyond disappointing...In the 90's there was none finer than Eilenberger's ...Yes, I have been their customer since then...but now? I have no foreseeable plans to EVER order from them again...In 2016 I received stale product that had mold in it. Yes they replaced it, but not until I complained more than once and they finally checked their stock to verify I was not embellishing the condition of the boxed pecan tarts...In the decades I have purchased long-distance from Eilenberger's I have seen the steady decline of both quality and customer service--but primarily the latter...Color me disappointed and saddened to write them off...but they apparently wrote me (and others) off years ago. The fact that corporate allows "Carolyn" to refuse to provide contact information and /or to mandate she at least answer emails sent to the company (per their directive on their website "contact us") speaks volumes. And the fact that "Carolyn" is allowed free reign to ignore communications from their customers is beyond appalling...I loved their products once upon a time...but really, the delays, the total failure to provide tracking or responses to Q&A is egregious...simply no longer worth my effort to deal with a company who has no respect for the customer. read more
