Nothing special about this place more of a nostalgic downtown eatery. My roast beef sandwich was bland the toast tastes stale. Your best bet is going to a Jersey Mike's or Schlotzsky's because the price at this place is very expensive. I got a sandwich a bag of chips and a drink 17 bucks not worth it. By the way, watch where you sit at my chair was bootlegged with screws a piece of metal that goes on a wood trust. read more

A good ol-old town square sandwich shop. I wiuld probably visit this place again. I cant say that their portions are great or big. My wife got a wrap, and it was just a cold regular flour tortia. The wrap was a zero! Oh and there was a hair in it. I got the beef dip, it was pretty good. Got my kids the BLT, it was good as well. They didnt have the jalapeño chips that i like. They have a good dessert place in there, with some good coffee. read more

Such a fun stop while in town. I had the Ol Mag Club, Hubs had the PoBoy and our Toddler had the soup of the day potato and cheese. Absolutely delicious and a wonderful small town atmosphere. The staff was so helpful and kind. This will now be a favorite stop every time we are in town. read more

Came here to grab a sandwich on a recent visit. While my food was prepared I looked around at the vendor booths. The place was nice and had a great vibe inside, actually quite charming. My food was the downfall and the reason my review was not a 4. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich to go and got on the road towards home. Having a 100 mile trip ahead of me I prepared to kick back on the drive and enjoy my lunch. It was straight up nasty. I am not sure how long before my chicken had been grilled, but it was not the same day for sure. From the refrigerator taste in the meat I would put it at about 4 days old. I ended up setting the sandwich aside and throwing it in the trash at my next stop 30 miles down the road where I went through a drive thru. read more

The chicken salad sandwich is my go to lunch! Try it with honey mustard and it's just over the top. I love the rustic decor and attached mercantile. Definitely make sure you stop by for a light lunch and some unique shopping. read more

Have eaten here a few times now and have never left unhappy. I really enjoyed the meat lovers sandwich along with some potato salad. The seasoned crackers are always a treat and just love their raspberry tea! They have a great selection of quality sandwiches to choose from. Palestine was an unplanned stop coming home on a three week road trip. We loved it and Old Magnolia had a part to play in that. Their set up - coffee shop, tables, books, and sandwich shop on one side, antique booths on the other - was very homey. And this was maybe the second time on our road trip my husband was able to find espresso in a small town. The coffee was good and the sandwich shop looked promising. We bought five small items from the antique shop and rather enjoyed the experience overall. Palestine was a great stop. I hope you'll support this local business if you check it out! read more

I found this little gym by searching google maps for "restaurants in Palestine" and saw the favorable reviews. Although this restaurant can easily be missed due to its size it is one that is worth slowing your car down and looking for. Great tasting unique sandwiches served in a pleasant atmosphere with friendly service. This will be the place I put on my list to come back to whenever I'm in Palestine next. read more

They also have some good soups and it's the only place to serve a decent latte in Palestine. After lunch, you can brouse the antiques in the same building. Parking is on the street. read more

Old Magnolia is one of the few places in town to get a latte and high speed wifi internet connection and as a rural Palestine native, I am thankful for both. The scones and breakfast wraps in the coffee area are very tasty. My favorite is the apple cinnamon scone. The lunch fare is pretty good, especially for a small town, but the coconut cream pie is without a doubt the best ever! This is a coffee shop, restaurant and group of small shops combined under one roof. The building originally housed a variety store in "the olden days" and now offers shoppers a variety of merchandise, both new and old. Every trip to Palestine should include a stop here for an antique, latte or pie fix. read more

This right here is a 5 star bih. Given there isn't much to choose from in Palestine I'd say this is the place to go. I got up in here and got me a wrap, straight up gangsta ass wrap with some hott sauce on it say whaaa I was looking at the sweets section and ended up with some apple dumplins, they were alright. I stopped by here for lunch while passing through town. There's not too many options in Palestine and this place for good reviews, so I thought I would try it. It's in a super cute old building downtown that is full of antiques and things for sale. You walk up and the menu is on a chalkboard. There was a nice variety of sandwiches, salads, and soups. I decided on the 1/2 sandwich 1/2 salad option and chose the pimento sandwich on white with a chicken salad stuffed avocado. The prices were average, about what you expect for a local cafe. Once your food is ready you number is called and you pick up your plate from the counter. The food was good, but the presentation was not. The half sandwich looked pretty pitiful on a plastic plate next to a half an avocado. But honestly, that was my biggest complaint. I was full at the end of it and was able to eat a healthy meal. All in all, this was a good stop and I would recommend it. read more

Well the food is pretty good, but expect to pay for it, the prices are way too high! 10 bucks for a salad or sandwich, and you don't really get that much food for the price. If you want any dressing with that salad, that will be a dollar for a little 2 ounces of dressing. The atmosphere is pretty cool, but i just don't think the prices are worth it. read more

I have always loved visiting Old Magnolia when I'm in Palestine, but my last visit was miserable! The air conditioning is not working in the building and the heat made for a less than comfortable experience. When I asked what was wrong I was directed to the owner who told me if I had $10,000 I could pay to have the A/C repaired/replaced! This really disappoints me because I love the booths who always have unique, cute gift and home décor items and antiques. Hopefully they resolve their cooling issue soon! read more

Oh my! I've just left this cafe and am in a catatonic state caused by the combination of fabulous food and the hum of the highway. Two of us had the chicken-salad stuffed avocado. Get the full order as the 1/2 isn't a lot of food. Three folks in our party had spuds. Now, a baked potato is just a baked potato, but all 3 raved about his/her perfectly baked potato. Another comment was that the jalapeños were fresh and especially tasty. The best part of the meal was yet to come. The chocolate cream pie was indeed chocolaty and creamy. The coconut cream pie was deemed "incredible." And then (cue the trumpets) we tasted the homemade ice creams. While the Vanilla Bean and Rocky Road were excellent, the Texas Pecan Praline ice cream was actually and absolutely the very best ice cream I have ever tasted. We happened on this place during a road trip and we'll be looking for excuses to return. read more

The order was more expensive than what the online menu showed, and the potato salad is extra, not included like it said.... which would have been ok, except they forgot to put it in the bag. I got two sandwiches and spent $20, so I don't think I'll be going back. They were good, but not that good. read more
