Lady at counter who took our order was super sweet & knowledgeable. We elected for 2 footlong philly's, order of fried zucchini, 2 fountain drinks & a cookie & blueberry toga. The white bread is made fresh daily & man it made a world of difference! They weren't shy with the bell peppers & onion but would have preferred more cheese as it was scarce. The zucchini was super fresh tasting & the toga was the star of the show next to the fresh white bread. I decided on 4 stars for slacking in the cheese & could of had alittle more meat on the philly's however, we shall return! read more

Big Dog lived up to its name. The fresh bun was very good but the chili wasn't anything special. I've been trying to stop here and eat for a while but their hours didn't coincide with mine until today. Glad I finally tried them out but the hot dog wasn't as good as I hoped for. read more

The front of the business is a little generic. You will know what I mean when and if you visit this place. When I entered this restaurant the employees were not that friendly. Not a single smile from the cashier. Seems like a family owned business. They all seemed related. Anyway. I had the half meatball sub , order of onion straws and my friend had the jalapeño sausage dog. The meatball sub was very disappointing. The marinara sauce was thick and dried out like it been cooking on high for a few hours. Meatballs were not good either. The onion straws were good. The jalapeño sausage was ok. Great road trip stop! If you find yourself in Palestine for lunch this is the perfect place to stop. It's a great little mom and pop restaurant. The food is delicious and made with fresh, quality ingredients. The bread was tasty and the perfect texture. (So often these places have stale, hard bread.) The portions were very generous. I will definitely stop here again on my next trip. My husband and I both loved this place! My guess is that their dinner selections are also good, but we just went for lunch. read more

Subs and Dogs introduced me to the way Texans eat their baked potatoes, covered in chili and all kinds of other delicious heart stoppers. I'm also still impressing friends with their secret Tortilla Soup recipe. (Yes, it's awesome and no you can't have it. It wouldn't be a secret family recipe that way.) Me and my son went there for supper because he loves to go to Sonic for their Foot Long Hot Dogs and after going there he said that he would not get them at Sonic anymore because they were so good there. not to mention how good they were it was way less than going to Sonic.
