Everyone from the back of the house staff (cooks, coffee gurus, etc.) to the customer service at the front desk are obviously happy to work there; they're friendly and great at their jobs. Lastly--not that this is even required at a coffee/tea shop--but, the food is delicious. Every detail of what Enroute offers is intentional and has been carefully curated. The turkey avocado sandwich with fries is my new favorite Friday lunch treat. You can order honey mustard, ranch, or red pepper aioli dip, which is all made from scratch. He stopped in to get some work done, something he's done many times during slow hours. Sometimes he buys something, sometimes he doesn't, and it has never been an issue. This has always been a welcoming place. This time, a staff member told him he couldn't sit and work unless he purchased something. What made it worse was the explanation: a table of eight older gentlemen "didn't like" that he was sitting there working, and that was the reason he needed to leave or buy something. It wasn't busy, it wasn't about space, and it wasn't about a policy. It was simply another group of customers not liking his presence, and the staff acting on that. After years of loyalty, that was incredibly disappointing. If there's a new policy, that's fine, just communicate it clearly and apply it consistently. Asking a long‑time customer to leave because another table "didn't like" them is not acceptable. This experience genuinely made us rethink continuing to support this location.

This used to be my favorite place to grab breakfast, however the terrible management has really caused this place to go downhill. The manager, the short older man, is rude to customers, talks down to his employees, and stands around like he's exhausted from all the work he's not doing. The store was messy and the energy was terrible with him in charge. I tried talking to him about my messed up order, and he couldn't have cared less. When he finally "fixed" it, it was still wrong!! If this is their idea of "leadership," the bar must be underground. At this point I'd get better service from a vending machine with an out of order sign on it. read more

Nothing beats bagels fresh from people who remember your name. I'm a regular here but there is a reason for that. The service is excellent the food no less so. My only complaint might be the line some days but then again I can't complain to much if everyone else likes this place too.
