Searched for a breakfast place while up in the west Phoenix area and this cute homestyle place came up and we are so glad it did! It is home cooking with the friendliest service, real families and truckers in the country style decorated dining rooms, and huge portions of deliciousness. The blueberry muffin was especially tasty loaded with blueberries. My husband and I shared the big breakfast which could easily have fed 3! Plenty of parking and very affordable. We will be back!

Good food. Homestyle cooking. There is something for every one. We were a little disappointed that the eggs Benedict used what tasted like canned spinach. Service is hit or miss. Casual diner environment.

Food was delicious. Service was well it just say there was one lady working waiting on five tables big big groups. It is what it is. She did as good as she could ambience . It's just a 50-year-old restaurant cool as hell check it out you'll love it.

She was covering quite a few tables, so it did seem like they were a little short-staffed that day, but she still did a good job taking care of us. We ordered the Million Dollar Bacon Breakfast Sandwich with seasoned potatoes, along with the Farmstead Tacos with potatoes and a side of Million Dollar Bacon. The tacos and breakfast sandwich were both good, but the maple bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich was absolutely delicious! I ordered the pickled jalapeños on the side, which was perfect for me. One suggestion for the Farmstead Tacos: the shells are VERY thin. I would recommend doubling up on the shells, similar to how they're served at many Mexican restaurants, so they hold together better and provide a little more support for the filling. The seasoned potatoes were unfortunately too salty for my taste. I would suggest using less seasoning. I'm not sure if they come pre-seasoned, but next time I'll probably request no additional seasoning to see if that makes a difference. Tip: Download their app and sign up for their email list! They offer specials, promotions, and even BOGO coupons and other deals, which can definitely help you save on future visits. Overall, we enjoyed our breakfast and would definitely come back--especially for that Million Dollar Bacon breakfast sandwich!

We actually followed the owners here after frequenting their previous coffee shop, En Route. When they opened New Penny, supporting them was an easy decision. The café is thoughtfully divided into two distinct spaces: a family-friendly dining area and a lounge-style bar area geared more toward adults. The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and inviting. There are house-made dishes, local merchandise, a shaded patio, and plenty of charm throughout. My wife's favorites are the Breakfast Totchos and the Acai Bowl. Personally, I am also a loyal Breakfast Totchos fan. As for drinks, the Copper Coin and the legendary Cowboy Latte are both worth ordering. What truly sets New Penny apart, however, is the people. The owners and staff have created a space that feels inclusive, welcoming, and genuinely connected to the community. Support local businesses. Better yet, support local businesses that are doing things the right way. Get to know the owners. Get to know the staff. Places like New Penny don't just serve food and coffee--they create gathering places. Whether you're meeting a friend, taking a business meeting, enjoying a date, or simply looking for a quiet place to sit by yourself, New Penny delivers. One of my favorite local businesses, and one that my family will continue to support.

It's cozy, inviting, and the overall vibe actually put me in the mind of First Watch. They've created a space that feels like somewhere you could sit down, relax, and enjoy a nice breakfast or brunch. I tried the PB&J Protein Shake. It was good, but would I personally order it again? Probably not. Now, the Cookie Butter Latte Frappe with extra whip? DELICIOUS. That one absolutely gets a repeat order from me. I also took a look at the menu--the sign encourages you to grab one and look it over--and I have to say, several of the food items sound really good. So next time, I do plan to sit down, order some food, and give the full dining experience a try. Now, here's where there is definitely room for improvement: customer service. I wasn't greeted when I walked in, and the interaction felt a little standoffish. Nothing terrible happened, but hospitality matters. When you have a cozy atmosphere and a promising menu, the customer service should match that same energy. A simple "Welcome in!" and a warmer interaction can make a major difference in someone's overall experience. There's a lot I like about Penny Cafe, and I definitely see the potential. I'll be back to try the food and that Cookie Butter Latte Frappe again. Hopefully, on my next visit, the customer service will be just as inviting as the atmosphere.

The host stand felt cold and unwelcoming, and the overall energy outside was a little off-putting. To be fair, the hostess was polite when she interacted with us directly, but the first impression was not warm. Once we were seated, Miguel turned the whole experience around. Since we are vegetarian, we have to ask extra questions about sauces, stocks, and hidden meat ingredients. Miguel was extremely helpful with navigating the menu and made sure the items with meat stock were removed or avoided. That kind of care matters a lot. The food was also pretty good. I had the South of the Border Omelette, and my wife had the burrito. Both were solid, and Miguel's service made us feel taken care of instead of like we were being difficult for asking questions. Good food, excellent service from Miguel, and a much better experience once we got past the initial welcome.

Being a resident I drop in here about every five years and while consistent in their offerings, it also consistently "meh". We brought our pup and the service from Miguel was attentive and helpful even bringing a bowl of water for our pup. The location and ambiance is quiet and intimate (I suggest sitting outside when it's nice) and is much bugger than it looks. Coffee taste like Folgers and while each plate has a lot of ingredients, it doesn't have a lot of taste. We ordered the Lady Litchfield Omelette and breakfast burrito and while generous in portion the irony of the dishes was interesting. The omelette was chock full of veggies and minimal egg to wrap them, the burrito had a ton of egg and tortilla but minimal ingredients to taste. At the End of the Day I just don't feel like the experience warranted the $16+ price tag per meal. I'll come back in five more years and see if anything has changed.
