A refreshing change after making the mistake of eating at First Watch a week prior, where there was one menu item that appealed to me and it was labeled "your Dad eats this". Want to check out homecooking this is the place you need to go! We got there at closing time and they welcomed us in with a great spot. The kids ordered milkshakes. One was PURE coffee wahoo! The other was chocolate and delicious! The giant cinammon roll was fun to share with the table and there was tons of frosting left over. We each ordered the belly buster burger, the pancakes, and hashbrowns. Everything was cooked very well. The bacon was a bit over cooked. The strawberries seemed past their ripe date. But beyond those items it was fabulous! We took all the leftovers home and enjoyed them the next day too! Such a great breakfast spot in our community! read more

Searched for a breakfast place while up in the west Phoenix area and this cute homestyle place came up and we are so glad it did! It is home cooking with the friendliest service, real families and truckers in the country style decorated dining rooms, and huge portions of deliciousness. Our server Maria was moving all over the place taking care of all her tables. I got 3 refills and didn't have to ask for one. Definitely adding this spot to my rotation. We arrived as a party of 3 and were welcomed with a wait of over 30 minutes due to kid's soccer teams, PIR event, MADD walk, We Walk for Hope Walk.... The wait was worth it. The soup of the day was albondigas hands down the best I have ever eaten. Compliments to the chef- the broth was full of veggies and the meatballs (yes, two) were flavored and spiced perfectly. I also ordered the green chili omelette- the green chili was very good. My dining partner tried the cinnamon roll French toast topped with butter and syrup. It was a very good combination . My other diner has the chorizo omelette and a strawberry shake. All of the food was very good. As a plus the staff was efficient and kept the coffee full. If I could rate this a 0 I would. Their service was so bad, we waited an hour just to get our food. When we had asked how long, the waitress said we had to wait at least 40 minutes for our food. As soon as our food was ready, our waiter only brought it one by one. The ambiance was heavy, it felt like the people were giving us a bad attitude as well as sarcasm. Our waitress only brought us water and got our food orders and then after nothing. No updates, no asking how we are, nothing. She only checked up on us after we got our food. My sister ordered chilaquiles without any knowledge it wouldn't actually be it. In the description it describes it regularly but once she received it, it was only the sauce in a bowl. The food here always hits, especially the French toast. The prices are reasonable too. However, the service is hit or miss, the place needs some updating, it just feels old and damp. The last two times we've been, the service was really slow, and the food was slow to come out. There are too many new restaurants in Goodyear to continue picking an outdated spot that closes early, the service is OK and the food takes forever, even if the food is good. If you want to stay in the game, you're gonna have to step it up.. i'd like to see you succeed, so make some changes, they are necessary. read more

Was visiting my mom and thought we'd try this place based on how busy it always is, thinking it would be good. Very wrong. Service is terrible and slow and food was even more disappointing. Tables and floor were dirty and our silverware still had food stuck to it. The wait to be seated was around 20 minutes with two small parties ahead of us. From there, it was close to another hour before we got our food, and our server had been MIA so unsurprisingly it was cold. Part of the order was not there and had to wait another bit for that. The server was very overwhelmed and was overheard snapping at another table who was ordering. The worst was the cinnamon rolls. We took them to go and once home, they were clearly old. I mean multi day stale. Could not eat and heating and adding extra butter did nothing. The entire experience was so comically bad I cannot see myself coming here ever again. read more

I am a DoorDash driver and I drive all over the West Valley. Last weekend, while I was dashing, I drove by TJ's Homestyle Restaurant. The parking lot was very busy and I thought WOW! I've never seen or heard of that place before. This morning, I surprised My Husband with a breakfast date. We went to TJ's and we were so surprised by this restaurant. The restaurant resembles an old 80s truckstop on the outside. The inside is dated but very cute and extremely clean, We walked in and we were immediately greeted by Susan the server. She was very friendly and asked if we wanted a table or booth. We told her we would love a booth so she walked us over and noticed that the booth she was going to sit us at had some water spilled at the table so she said let's go to another booth. This one is dirty. We were really impressed by that. We sat down at a new booth and looked at the extensive menu. We had a hard time deciding what to order because everything looked fabulous. I ordered the VIP pancake, which included one pancake, two eggs, and two slices of bacon. I also ordered a cup of coffee. My Husband ordered the wet burrito and an iced tea. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals. My pancake was cooked perfectly a little crunchy along the edges but pillowy inside and I really liked that. My eggs were cooked sunny side up as I ordered them and the bacon was cooked perfectly. My coffee was hot and really good. My Husband's burrito had a lot of different ingredients inside and it was seared so the tortilla was crunchy. The salsa that came with the burrito was warmed up and it was really delicious. We had never had salsa that was warmed up before. Susan told us the salsa was homemade on site. He also enjoyed his iced tea. After breakfast, we shared a rather large cinnamon roll. It was a tiny bit too sweet for the both of us but very good. We initially wanted to order a slice of pie, but Susan told us that the pies are homemade on Friday and available on the weekends. Service was excellent. Food was amazing and the prices were good. Our total bill before tip was $39.00 and some change. I would say the only thing missing from this restaurant is music. The restaurant was extremely quiet and it would be nice if there was some country music playing . Try this place out you will not be disappointed. read more

If I could rate 0 stars I would, my family and I are coming from California and decided on this place for breakfast, lady in the front was an older white woman and didn't even seat us just pointed at the "long table" as she stated for us to go to. She then proceeded to ignore us and seat 2 other groups that came in after us, and repeatedly passed us ignoring us, about 20 minutes passed still no drinks or checking up on us. Horrible.
