Einstein bagel Layton location (897 N. Main St, Layton) has very unprofessional workers. I have been waited for my order what I made on the Doordash website to pick up at store. However I had to wait for 35 minutes then finally they said that they didn't have the ingredients so I had to wait another 20 minutes to get the sandwich. They even didn't say sorry. They were not to busy at that time. They just didn't pay attention to their customer. I worry that this location might go to very bad business because of those very unprofessional employees. read more

Just got home from this place after waiting for over 20 minutes just for a coffee and a simple, pre-made bagel. The lady at the register was extremely rude when calling out customers names. At one point she called out a name and rudely raised her hand like the little emoji reception lady, no longer than three seconds after the customer didn't hear her. Also never called the name again. This is absolutely unacceptable! I went in to Layton location to get bagels for myself and my SO. Brought them home had one and it was fine. I woke up this morning to have my other one to find flaked off nail polish on my bagel. It was left in the bag from when I brought it home, and I don't even have nail polish anymore or even wear it! Our visit would have been entirely forgettable, if not for the employee coming to our table THREE different times to ask my husband about details of his order. Maybe I should have said, our visit was entirely laughable?! But at least the order was correct? I suppose that is what really matters. My bagel was fine. My kids didn't like the "bagel bites", and I wasn't a fan either. They were too soggy. My husband ordered a sandwich, and it was "fine" too. There were two employees working behind the counter, while we were there; but only one seemed to be doing any work. It was that one that approached us 3 times, to ask about the order. Our food didn't arrive very quickly. And during the time we were waiting, it didn't take me very long to ascertain that Einstein's isn't a kid-friendly place. There were no high-chairs. And no kids meal options. The patron demographic in the store, already, were people that appeared to have just finished at the gym, and several empty-nester-age ladies. None of whom seemed happy to see a family walk through the door. I wish Einstein's had a drive-thru window. I definitely wouldn't go back with kids in-tow. And let's face it... Since I rarely go anywhere with out an ankle-biter, or TWO! I probably won't be seeing the inside of Einstein's again. read more

No common sense behind the counter. We waited 10 min in line to order. We ordered three plain bagels. Un-toasted, un-sliced. We'd noticed they were low, but saw they had the three we wanted behind the glass. We were then charged and we paid for them and proceeded to wait more 5 minutes for them to give us our order. Then the woman who took out order proceeds to tell us they're out of the green chile bagels and offered to give us the six cheese bagels instead. Mind you, the six cheese bagels cost less and she didn't even offer to refund the difference or make up for their incompetence. We left empty handed and lost 15-20 min. Einstein Bagels are delicious,...It just appears that Einstein's as a whole, needs to devise a better, more streamlined system to serve its patrons.This particular location is by far the worst and most lacking of well trained persons serving behind the counter. Guess I'll have to grab an over-priced bite at the SLC airport now. :-/ read more

Service was good. Bagel was good but it was extremely small. Think of rolling play dough into a snake and folding it into a bagel. Yeah, it was literally that tiny. Two of these "mini" bagels with smear and a parfait will set you back $10. If I forget and go back I hope I remember to order two bagels because I am hungry. read more

I walked in and up to the counter and stood there, feet away from the employees, for a good several minutes before anyone acknowledged me. Eventually I ordered two cold brews with sweet cream and they charged me accordingly, then I waited long enough to wonder how pouring cold brew was taking so long before being told they had been out and had to make more. Well that's iced coffee, not cold brew, but at this point I'm just trying to get back on the road so I'm willing to eat having over payed rather than try to get the employees attention again. Take my iced coffee and get out of there, take a sip, and hey its all grounds. Phenominal. Utterly undrinkable iced coffee for the price of cold brew and a staff that can't even be bothered to say hello to me. Glad I don't live around here and can't come back accidentally. read more

Great for the morning! The staff is friendly and the food is usually great! I know them for having the best bacon spinach paninis in the state! They have picked themselves up lately and improved, I'm impressed. Great job management! The only thing I can complain about is the trash, sometimes they are overflowing. read more

I usually order the tasty turkey but only turkey and cream cheese! They usually will charge me a little less because of that! This particular day I ordered 2! The lady who ended up being the manager rang it up even more if I had been charged for a tasty turkey and on top of that she charged me for an extra potatoes also! This place needs a make-over, including employees!! My wife and I have been going to this place for sometime but this place is going down the tubes. The last 2 months or so they have been making crappy Lattes and they are not worth the money that we pay!! There is one guy who makes Lattes and I told him today that this Latte does not taste good. Went to the Layton Einstein's this morning. Apparently their system was down because it was cash only! I ordered a dozen bagels to go and it seemed to take forever. No smear, no drinks, just bagels. I have been in several times to this location, mostly because I love their bagels. But consistently it seems the staff are just not trained in great customer service. I am rarely thanked for coming in, and often the cashier doesn't talk, they just tell me my total and take my money. There is often slow service. I was there with my sister when the guy at the counter was being very rude and actually YELLED at my sister. Then later on asked if my sister needed help, then cut her off when she was telling him what she needed help with. Very unprofessional, his beard was not groomed either. Went to Einstein's at noon today and planned to order the dozen deal with two smear tubs, I noticed a lot of the baskets were empty but didn't think anything of it because it's happened before and we just had to wait for them to bring out some more but when I went to order the girl said everything that was out was what they had and they weren't bringing more out. She wasn't apologetic and did not have a very good attitude when we were trying to decide (which took us a minute considering they were out of every bagel we were planning to order). Not sure if it's their policy or if it was just laziness but to be out of everything at such an early time in the day is pretty ridiculous. Very disappointed. Took over 30 minutes to get our food. They ran out of coffee...coffee for Pete's sake! When I told the young lady at the register she rudely said "well there's decaf" and then proceeded to bring out a pot of dark roast, which was old I'm sure. Then, the muffin we ordered for our daughter wasn't even given to us while we waited for our two hot sandwiches. When the sandwiches were brought out, they were ICE COLD, and when I brought them back and talked to the manager, he simply said "well I just made them sooo..." so I demanded a refund. He gave us cash back, but still charged us for the coffee...terrible experience, we are currently at Dunkin Donuts with hot food and fresh coffee...Won't be back. read more

I would have to agree with another Yelp review. The "service", if you could call it that is typical northern Utah. The staff has No common sense, no thinking skills and will even talk back to you, the person who keeps the staff here employed. I walk in and there is no one at the register to take my order. There are people behind the counter, however doing remedial tasks that aren't time sensitive like sweeping crumbs, organizing orange juice, etc. I patiently wait for the crumbs to be swept since crumbs get annoyed while they are sitting on the ground and human customers don't mind waiting. Once the crumbs are swept I get helped. "Can I help you?" "Yeah, I'd like a French Toast Sandwich" HHHHUUUUNNNNHHHHH??????? If only I was paid $1 every time a Northern Utahan grunted HUNH at me I could fit in by buying a new F350 dually diesel truck with a 4' lift no mud flaps and stacks. I repeat myself a little louder to help her focus on the customer and hear me. "I want a French Toast Sandwich!", I say. "HHHHUUUUNNNNHHHHH??????? , You don't have to yell at me!!!!!", She said.
