    Texas Brisket Egg Sandwich
    Paly K.

Whenever I crave a bagel, Einstein Bagel is always the place. It's been a minute since I've been there, had a birthday reward to use for a free egg sandwich. I ordered the Texas Brisket Egg Sandwich, and was quite disappointed, did not look anything like the picture ad on the online ordering app. Could use more of the aioli. The Jalapeño bagel itself was good and a little kick with the jalapeños. They had cleaned out all the table seating area, so there is no place to sit and eat unless it is outside, which was a bit odd. Not sure why that changed. Parking is always easy access. Even though the egg sandwich was a disappoint, I still enjoy the cinnamon sugar bagel with iced coffee!

Tried the new Maple House Sandwich It was so slimy and Gross. I took 1 bite but couldn't get past the slim oozing out the side

I got the new Maple House Egg Sandwich and it was so Slimy & gross I couldn't eat it. I took 1 bite but couldn't get past the slime oozing out the side. Definitely not worth $8

I really love the food at Einstein Bros, but my visit today has left me upset. I've been waiting for my food for over 20 minutes, and i finally went and asked about it because everyone that came in after me was getting food before me. When I asked I was told they misplaced my order and hadn't even started it. They said sorry and told me they would get in it. But my time is gone and I was in a hurry. The help definitely could have been better. Probably wouldn't return to this location do to the lack of comforting help about the situation. Update: I finally got my food and it's burnt.

I love bagels and just seen this place while we was was heading to get our puppies checked out by the Vet, and wanted to try it. So today while on the way to work my sister and I stopped by to grab some bagels. Sebastian, was very friendly, and professional, and funny, he took the time to explain the menu to us, he went out his way to make us laugh, he took our order and had the patience that anyone working in customer service. Amy, was awesome as well, she brought our food out and was very friendly and happy and made us feel welcomed, I was very excited about coming into this bagel shop, both Sebastian and Amy made us feel welcomed and gave us great customer service. The dinner room is closed as of right now, they only do walk in, curbside, and DoorDash and other delivery services. So the inside dinning area is closed but you can walk inside and grab your food and order and everything. My food was delicious, and was very satisfied in my food, i loved how fresh it was and how well they cooked the egg and ham and bacon. The bagel was fresh and very fresh. I had a great experience, really will come back and grab more food from here, this place was awesome, and very welcoming. Thank you guys for an awesome experience will definitely be back soon.

I always feel bad giving 2 star reviews, but this place honestly deserved 2 stars. The food was good, I enjoyed my breakfast bagel. All the ingredients were fresh, it was warm, and the spread that was on it was tasty. However, the workers were so mean We were on a road trip and stopped in for a quick breakfast. We were the only customers when we walked in, and they took over 10 minutes to notice us. There were two employees in there and they were both on their phones, and when we said hi they ignored us. When one of the workers finally spoke to us, she told us "you're standing in the wrong spot" but didn't direct us as to where we should stand, and there was no signage indicating where we should go. We just walked over to the other end of the counter hoping it was the right spot, and then the same worker walked over and asked us what we wanted. Once we ordered, she directed us back over to the spot that we had been previously standing to punch in our order?? (So I don't get why she had us move haha.) Maybe the worker was just having a rough morning or something, but the whole time we were in the store the girl that was serving us was glaring, rolling her eyes, sighing, and was really condescending and passive aggressive when speaking to us. She literally slammed our food into the bag and shoved it over to us on the counter. It was borderline comical how aggressive she was being with our food. I'm not the kind of person to take things personally and I understand that working a morning shift can be rough, but man the negative energy was insane Major bummer

If you enjoy poor customer service, ridiculously hard and misshapen bagels, and the need to correct the shift manager, on their Monday Exclusive bagel special (which has been running for years), this is the place for you. I hate to be "that person"... but this is unbelievable and needs to be addressed by the senior management or owner. Today, around 3pm, we stopped in to buy some bagels. They are usually fresh and excellent. We were assisted by the shift manager (reddish hair / name to remain anonymous). She was abrupt, short and acted as if we were the biggest irritation in her life. The selections available in the display case were scarce, but they had several trays of fresh baked bagels (of many flavors) in plain view. When asked if they had a certain type of flavor on the trays, without pausing for a second, she responded with a very stern "NOPE!!!" No effort to offer other options or even check the trays. We opted for a few of the wheat, a few of the plain and a few of the potato rolls. This was about all that was left in the display baskets. (Be sure to check out the pictures I have attached. The bagels were rock hard and looked nothing like what was in front of the case. The potato rolls were flat and will not even tear. We ended up tossing 7 of the bagels in the trash) Before we could request the bagels be sliced, she was already at the other end of the counter, ringing up the order. When she presented the price total, it was well above their normal cost for their Monday Exclusive Special. When asked if they changed the pricing... she looked at us in a confused manner and said, "Oh-yeah, I need to change the price". We have purchased bagels from this location, several times per month - for both home and work. We have done so for years. On many occasions, this same individual has assisted and appears to be having a rough shift. In past, we have been understanding and chalked it up to her just having a bad day. It has now become very apparent, this is habitual and a consistent pattern for her. It's quite obvious she does not enjoy her job and feels comfortable providing poor customer service. Unfortunately, our patience has finally run out! Time to be honest, in our experiences. I am sorry to the owner(s) of this establishment; as they likely have no idea how their store is being managed by this individual. It's unacceptable and this particular shift manager needs to be coached on her attitude and behavior. Today was out of the norm for their bagel quality. What wasn't out of the norm was the attitude of this shift manager. I absolutely cringe when leaving bad reviews, however, this one is well merited and people deserve a warning. Such a shame.

First Watch in Layton, UT…read more This is the best healthy breakfast place in Layton! It's been long overdue to have a healthy breakfast spot in this area. We've tried First Watch in Florida years ago and loved the food so I was elated to see they built one in Layton. I got the Morning Meditation drink, it's tasty with all the ginger, tumeric, beet, orange all in it! I got the rustica frittata and liked the feta cheese in it. My husband got one for he onlettwes and my parents shared the Floridian French toast. We saw the million dollar bacon and had to snag that too. Overall, the service was great! Our server was attentive and checked in with us the exact right amount. This place is clean and rarely has a weight even though the parking lot is always busy.

We actually really like First Watch but today the waitress we had was ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE…read more I'm not the type of person that really complains. I'm pretty understanding. But Gemma was a nightmare. We walked in and it was so busy. We asked the girls at the front if we can self seat in the bar (it was my fiancé and I so we were looking to get in and out quickly) the girls said yes and we headed that way. We walked up and there were dirty dishes on the counter in front of the two empty seats. I decided to clean the area and clear the dirty plates, utensils, napkins and cups. We stood there for a few minutes until I decided to go to the restroom and get a wet paper towel to wipe the counter down. While I was gone Gemma doesn't greet my fiancé, no. She decides to make a snarky comment about him bringing coffee in to drink. Here's the thing. If first watch made lattes or coffee drinks other than drip coffee we would be happy to drink their coffee but they don't. So it should be perfectly acceptable for us to bring in a coffee drink that we actually want to drink. If Gemma is itching that bad to make a comment, try a joke. Something light. Don't come in hot. K so we are waiting to order and Gemma decides to help the people next to us (who got there first so obviously that's completely normal and fair) what wasn't completely normal and fair is sitting and watching Gemma talk with, be nice to and chit chat with the couple and then when she finally decides to come and take our order, it's a completely different experience. She didn't even greet us or say hello. She just asked us what we wanted very dryly, no smile, nothing. We ordered our food. She grabbed the menus with a straight look on her face (almost as if she's annoyed at our existence) and then turned and walked away. Like what the actual heck! I had to clear off my own area touching other people's dirty dishes, which I do not get paid to do, wipe down the counter which had thick sticky stuff all over it and egg juice everywhere. Then you're gonna be super nice to the people next to us and super rude to us for no reason at all other than maybe because we brought our own coffee in?! There really is no reason. It took a long time for our food to arrive and when it finally did, Gemma had put it into a different table, so the food runner was looking for us all over trying to get our food to us...coincidence? Perhaps. Or maybe she did it on purpose. Only Gemma knows. At this point there's no way coffee has triggered her this hard. It's gotta be something else... We noticed that Gemma never gave us utensils to eat with, so I then had to walk around and try to find someone to help. All of the utensils holders at the bar were empty. I saw Gemma, started to walk up to her and she tried to hurry away into the kitchen so I said "excuse me!!" And I told her we didn't have utensils and I asked if she could help us get some. She gave me the dirtiest look! Very SARCASTIC and like reached for the only two utensils that were in a bucket on the bar in front of an elderly lady who was eating. As if Gemma not only expected me to know where the utensils were, but also expected me to reach in front of this lady to grab them. It kind of feels like she should have given them to us like every other waitress and waiter does at every other restaurant that exists. I mean, the system works. Customers actually like if you treat them well and give them utensils to eat with. Then when she printed our receipt (never offered us a box but offered to everyone else around us) I asked her if her name was on the receipt and she literally yells at me "do you want a manager?" I replied "I'm sorry?" And then she quickly changed her volume and said it again in a normal speaking voice. I said no thank you and we left. The reason I didn't speak to a manager is because the absurdity of how Gemma treated us would have stopped at the managers ears but her service was SO TERRIBLE. Everyone should know. We did absolutely NOTHING to warrant such poor treatment. Gemma needs more training on customer service and treating ALL customers with respect and dignity despite whatever her insecurities or personal opinions are. We have 8 kids and I would be really disappointed if any of our children ever treated people so poorly for no good reason.

On the first day of 2026, my wife and I decided to venture out and try something new…read more A random recommendation from YELP popped up on her phone. Keeping with a couple criteria, an untried venue, check! Food, (most importantly) check! and nearby, check! We decided to throw on some foot covers and head out the door. A quick jaunt and we'd arrived. Super easy to find even though it isn't street facing. Expecting it to be bustling with NYE recovery folks, we were surprised to find a quiet establishment that had two other patrons. Quickly I grabbed up a menu and we were immediately greeted with a friendly "Good Morning" from a very energetic and enjoyable young man. We sat and perused the menu. Talking over what we wanted vs what we should have. It took less time to make our decision for our order than most food stops in our past. I ordered the Mortician with Pepper Jack instead of the American Cheese it was paired with. Our order taker guy, (also the energetic greeter) inquired if I wanted to make it a double. I answered to the affirmative, (with a sheepish smile on my face). My wife conservatively ordered the Thursday Special, consisting of the Morty's Iconic Cheeseburger and fries. After paying and sitting down, our once greeter/order taker now waiter guy appeared with a large bottle of pour-it-yourself Fry Sauce and a handful of napkins. I looked over the sauce and quickly realized I hadn't ordered the Onion Rings that I wanted to try. I quickly mentioned to our greeter/order taker/waiter guy before he disappeared behind the kitchen doors that I needed the onion rings. With a smile and a thumbs up he said, I gotchu. I asked if there was a separate charge and stood up to pay. He quickly interrupted my advancement with an outstretched hand and a more pronounced, I Got You. This, of course was not my intention to get free stuffs but I was pleased just the same. My wife quickly grabbed some loose cash from her purse and added it to their tip jar. Thanks Babe! Once again you show me one of the many reasons for my affection toward you! We sat and did some chit-chat, continuing conversations from earlier that day. Sooner than expected, our food shows up, piled high and filling the plates with our side orders, (see photos). I literally had to take off the onion rings that were part of the sandwich makeup to even consider the possibility of moving the Mortician into my mouth, (TWSS! ...if you know, you know). Im finding this experience difficult to put into words. So, I'll sum it up. Delicious and juicy and fantastic! For once, outside of a homegrown burger, I'm able to enjoy the separate flavorings of Bacon, Beef, (which I think is marinated), the jalapeño and the pastrami as well as the aioli. After a quick drink to cleanse my palette, I grabbed up an Onion Ring. I paused to reflect on my existence and quietly muttered, this is really good! Crispy beyond any previous onion ring order from any of the, what could be hundreds of orders of rings during my 59 years, and delicious. I savored every bite, licked my fingers, and made happy "mmm mmm" sounds as I partook of this fine deliciousness. We finished everything! Talked about how this particular Morty's has now been labeled a family staple. Our experience is not just made up from the delicious food, friendly atmosphere, free onion rings, and did I mention the delicious food?, no. It's all of these as a whole, bigger experience, making it a unique and favorite beginning to a new year. Thanks to you, Morty's and our favorite greeter/order taker/waiter/I gotchu guy, we both are still smiling from our visit. Thank you for the excellent experience. We are looking forward to our next visit!

Hostess training another hostess, not knowing where she was going. You know you are waiting too long to be seated when you grab the menu to start making up for lost time. Everybody was just lost. Dishes and crap on every other table as employees just walked on by. Look liked the busboy (if he was one) was hanging out with the two hostesses. Back in my day, if you have time to lean, you have time to clean. I ordered the campfire beef meal. I mean, what was that? Tasteless, soggy old people food that I was able to squish a carrot between my tongue and palate. I did not have to chew any of it. They had to have wrapped this in foil this morning and kept it in a steamer. I have never tasted moosh carrots, onions, or tomatoes in one meal. Did they send it through the dishwasher or something? I have never had to season meat before, as it is an insult to the cook, but there was not enough salt/pepper on the table to put flavor into this meal. A-1 would have been my go-to, but it was not on the table. The server was nice enough, but she works there 7 days a week, takes the bus 2-3 hours each way, and she is sitting in a chair talking to us. Anyways, she asked me how the meal was, and I told her it was embarrassing. I did not have to chew anything except the corn on the cob; it was all mushy. How long do onions and carrots have to steam for the food to be that mushy? I had better food in a field in Afghanistan out of a steamer on a plastic tray. This was not even prison food quality. She gets the manager, manager, no name tag, not work clothing, just a blue blouse and black pants with a radio hanging off her hip. She walked up and said nothing, no introduction, nothing. I asked her if she was a manager or something, and she said, "Yes." I told her about the food, and she said basically I was lying because they make those meals to order fresh. No more than an hour before serving, then I said, Funny, they make it fresh, and we got the meal in 15 minutes, and it's mush. Then she said they pre-cook them about an hour in advance of somebody ordering it. Well, how do they know some buddy is going to order it for them to time travel an hour backwards to make the meal, because they are psychic. At least my server told me the truth. They make them well in advance and place them in a pan of water to heat them up. That makes sense because we are at 5 pm, and the meal tasted like 9 am sitting in a steamer all day. The manager gave me a stupid grin and had nothing to say, no apology or nothing. I said, Hey, I ate it, I'll pay for it. She turned and walked away with no comments. We got the bill, and the meal was on the check. While we were waiting, I signed up for the club rewards required if you wanted a military discount. As I was walking out, I got an email from CB saying I could order a free Share appetizer. LOL! I was tempted to go in for the pickled chips to go, but I was more concerned about being sick later. The server was tipped properly. I have never seen a server sitting in a chair talking to customers about her life while plates, dishes, and cups were stacking up on tables for customers to look at. Just ain't no way I am coming back!
