This is for the owner. You are either stunningly bad at hiring or stunningly bad at training. Could be both. Before you think "Oh, a New york snob who's about to complain my chain bagels aren't boiled." No, that's not it. I mean, that's true, but it would be ridiculous to think I'm going to get a NY bagel in Utah. My issue is your incompetent staff and your amateurish systems. This is 100% a management issue. You, Mr. or Ms. Owner, are 100% at fault. I want to be crystal-clear about this in case you're inclined to go rip into your staff for having no clue what they're doing. Their incompetence is YOUR FAULT. Ok, background. Provo is a college town. We're all used to sub-par service from nice kids who are working their first jobs, but who've never actually paid for anything before. You bag canned goods on top of eggs? Sure. A sense of urgency isn't really a core competency? Get used to that in Provo. Coffee is not something you will ever enjoy here. That's life in Utah. But Einstein's takes it to a whole new level. These employees never get an order right. I mean, literally, never. Today it's a lox sandwich with the wrong cream cheese, missing tomatoes and onions sliced 1/2 an inch thick. That last bit is a chronic issue, which is really just lazy. My money says the owner won't invest in decent knives. But again, maybe you just don't train people. They aren't chefs. Set expectations for crying out loud. Here's what customers can generally expect at Einstein's in Provo: They'll take phone orders for things they don't have, figure you're joking when you order a bagel toasted, or switch the the system for ordering vs paying (there are two lines) randomly and then wonder why all those confused people are standing in the "order here" line. And really, who doesn't love the taste of a cinnamon bagel once it's shared a bag with a garlic bagel? Speaking of which, forget about inventory control. By 10am Saturday, you can be assured that they'll be out of pretty much every popular item. Meanwhile, trays and trays of cranberry poppyseed whatevers will sit unpurchased wondering why nobody loves them. You might wonder why I go there. Usually I don't. I go to another location that's farther away. Yes, I literally drive past the Bulldog location to go to another town where they only screw it up 50% of the time. But, we weren't inclined to drive that far this morning. We actually discussed it. "It's early. Maybe if it's not as crowded, they'll pay more attention." Not so much, but the good news is it turns out you can get a garlic bagel at 7am. By 9? Fuhgettaboutit. read more

My two kids and i went here for breakfast it was AMAZING they forgot the pretzel bagel but they didnt charge us for it when we got it the pretzel bagel was the bomb I really reccomend it, we will come back anytime read more

The Bagels were as good as always, but the customer service was very poor. My girlfriend dealt with a very snappy, rude, and unpleasant cashier that insisted she pay with card over cash to make it "easier". When she pulled out cash and gave her the change anyways, the rude cashier corrected her on the amount without even counting it. (My girlfriend gave her the exact amount). She proceeded to unpleasantly put the change in the drawer and angrily ask where we were going to be sitting. read more

Listen, I love Einstein Bagels. Truly. And I was excited to see that they open at 6 when I work at 7! Got all ready, gave myself an extra 10 minutes (normally plenty of time to place and receive my order), drive over. Was told they're only accepting orders made in advance, I can't order in store. Ok, so I'll just go out to my car and order from there. Nope! It took so long to download the app (can't order directly from the website), find what I wanted to order, and then they wanted TONS of info for my card. Used my whole 10 minutes just trying to place my order. Very annoyed. read more

The bagels are good Ill admit! The coffee on the other hand....needs work. Its never hot, more lukewarm and the "baristas" admitted to never tasting the coffee before and that explains the lack of flavors but its a fun place that provides free wifi and the employees are nice. Oh my goodness! The service here is TERRIBLE! They just kind of glance in your direction and ignore you for a minute hoping that you will go away or something. It's actually kind of funny. No "Hi, how can I help you?" I feel bad for these people actually. They seem a little miserable. read more

Went to the other Einstein's location up in Orem, had a terrible experience and so we wanted to still fulfill our bagel cravings...so we called this location while we were on our way to see if they had anymore cin/sug bagels they said that they did, so we said we'd be there soon. We were there within 5 minutes of calling, my guess is between 3-4. We get in, order 2 cin/sug bagels and they tell us they're out. Complete waste of time. read more

I have eaten a bagel almost every morning for over 25 years. So I feel like an expert haha. I like the flavor of the Einstein bagel I just wish when they toasted my bagel and put butter on it they would do so while it's warm so the butter would melt. Yeah I'm kinda picky. I don't like butter to be cold and hard like cream cheese. This is a constant problem to the point I now just get a dozen and toast them at home until I run out. From listening to other people ask for melted butter I think I'm not the only picky person. All and all that's my only issue. Everything else is always delicious read more

I ordered a Southwest breakfast bagel. The bagel was about 1/2 the size of a normal bagel, the egg whites were watery, the cheese "product" they put on the sandwich had very little resemblance to cheese, and the salsa verde barely made an appearance. For $5.38 I would think they could do much better. Won't make the same mistake twice. read more

Just stopped in to get my free egg sandwich for my birthday & got the Southwest Egg White bagel sandwich. The sandwiches are a little under $5, which I normally wouldn't pay for for a breakfast sandwich, but man this thing was AMAZING!!!! I was a bit skeptical that a sandwich with egg whites on it would be any good, but it was seriously one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had. It was made of egg whites, turkey-sausage, pepper jack cheese & tomatillo salsa & shmear. After trying it I definitely think it's worth the price & am going back to get another! & as far as customer service goes, everyone who helped me was really friendly & my order was made pretty quickly. read more

This store is the best place for bagels in town. My family comes all the way from North Orem, and I do too, even though I live just a minute away from the University Parkway store. Unlike the other location in the area, this one (Bulldog Blvd) offers great service and a great product. The store and restrooms are neat and clean. The employees are very friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable, and just have a positive vibe about them. It's clear that the workers and management take pride in what they are doing. The ordering line is much more user-friendly and efficient than other stores'. I really appreciate that the employees here actually want to be in business and make their customers happy. They carry a wide selection of product, even more select gourmet choices, available throughout the day. If your choice is not in stock, they can make your order if you call ahead, usually with as little as an hour's notice. I really like the chocolate chip bagels, and when I call ahead I can usually get them within 45 minutes. The product comes out warm, moist, delicious, and never burnt. I do wish Einstein would use fresher, simpler, less-processed, and more healthful ingredients in their bagels. However, for the inexpensive pricing I think the product is a reasonable choice. You can get even better deals with their $6 baker's dozen promo on Monday's (gourmet bagels cost extra) and with coupons they regularly mail out. Whether you want a personal treat, a snack for the kids, or a spread for your office lunch, this place will take care of you! read more

I was a bit disappointed when they stopped selling the cookies--they were probably my favorite part of buying a meal there. During this visit they were out of the muffin I wanted and also the type of bagel for my sandwich, but there was no fuss about it and everything went well. After paying, we noticed the employee had given us what looked like an employee discount of a fairly significant amount. She gave us a pleasant smile.
