I placed an order online so I could just run in and grab it since I have a busy day. Ended up arriving 7 mins late and went up to the front to let them know I placed an order online and waited 5 mins just for them to notice and come talk to me. I tried to get their attention and they said give us a bit. No worries it looked busy. After letting them know I was here to pick up my order and sorry I'm a bit late they told me they haven't even started on my order but they will start it right now. I ended up waiting 20 mins for 2 bagels. Wouldn't have really cared it's just annoying to place an order online and end up getting my order after people who came in after me and ordered there. You are not going to get a warm welcome here. There was one other customer when I walked in. Not a hello, may I help you, nothing. There was some but not much inside seating against the window. There was a stand with call in orders right as you walk in the door. Which makes it nice you don't have to wait to have your order prepared. It's sitting there ready for pick up. College students are behind the counter and I'm sure their mind is on an up and coming test rather than concentrating on getting your order correct. Oh wait what did you say? Ya, you get it. The girl that took my order didn't know the menu very well and became flustered when I asked her what came on the Bacon, Avocado, and Tomato sandwich. Errr never mind. Hopefully the sandwich maker knows what goes on it. I also ordered a Ham and Swiss sandwich on a poppyseed bagel, toasted of course (It comes with an egg by the way) and two large Coffee's to go. No creamer in the stainless steel container, so I asked one of the employees to replenish it. I was mighty surprised she didn't clean the container before adding fresh cream, especially since the outside could have used a good cleaning. Their coffee sucks. So week and luke warm. I wasn't expecting much really as this town is know for "The Words of Wisdom" which means NO drinking coffee. This location is one block from the entrance from BYU. Every year they send me a birthday coupon for a free egg sandwich with any purchase, so I get that with a cheap pastry, and every year I'm reminded why their egg sandwiches are only worth throwing away without taking a bite. I like their bagels with schmear, and my wife like's their lunch sandwiches occasionally, but those are the only redeeming items on their menu. Sometimes their pastries are ok, but this year they gave me what tasted like a petrified apple pie pastry that cost me over $3. I could have gotten a better quality apple pie at everyone's favorite double arches down the street for half the price. I used to get bagels here every week for my students. I would normally spend about $50-&60 in bagels every week. But the lady manager here is so rude to her employees. That it's painful to watch her interact with them. She asks them to do something and then she doesn't let them finish, and if they do it wrong she rudely tells them there doing it wrong right in front of us (the customers) making them feel completely useless. And it doesn't have to be, it's not rocket science she just needs to focus on better training, organization, team work and they all need to be more knowledgeable on the Einstein points/rewards. Almost 99.9% of the time I want to cash in my points they have an issue with it. They either don't know how or do it wrong. It's so frustrating I almost always have to anticipate a long visit. Or walk away without using them. That's not the only problem, they hardly ever have a variety of bagels available. The service is not genuine when it comes to positive and pleasantly being helped. This store needs better management and they need to work on there employee interaction and customer service. I don't go here anymore it literally starts me off on a negative vibe. My husband stopped coming here as well and he also fed all his students. We go to the Orem one now. At least there you can bet there nice to there employees. Einstein get it together please. I want star is being generous. I came here two weeks out ago and ordered a bakers dozen and had them toast till the bagels for us. The bakers dozen or two spreads cost $18 with tax. Today we went into order a half a bakers dozen and one spread. He told the guy with a green shirt working behind the counter that we were like two of them toasted and in a Tim invoice he said I'm sorry my manager said we can't toast bagels if they're purchased in a box. I told him that we bought a full box 2 weeks ago and they toasted two bagels just fine but that didn't seem to bother him or interest him at all. I asked him so I can buy a single bagel and you'll toast it but if I buy six bagels from you do you want toast one for me is that what I'm hearing and again he fell back to his my manager says we can't toast bagels if you buy them in the box. To make a long story short my manager who is my wife looked at me and said why are we even trying to eat here that's their attitude. I agree 100%. I've been to other Einstein locations and overall have had decent experiences (the wait is always long even if there's no one in front of you). I went in on a Saturday morning, probably 1 or 2 people in front of me. While waiting for my bagel, I took my daughter to the restroom and was back within 3-5 mins to pick up my bagel order. There were no bagels in sight so I asked them about my order. They said someone had already taken it. I went out to ask my husband if he took our order and he hadn't. I went back to ask the employees and they said some other guy must have taken my order. At that point, I asked if they could make the order and I can wait again but they gave me a look like they were really annoyed. They gave me some attitude about how they'll have to re-make it because someone else took my order. I'm not certain where it came from but the other employees looked at each other as if this happens quite often and didn't jump in to help. There aren't many options for bagels in Utah Valley, and although the ones at Einstein Bros. aren't great, I'll still go for breakfast when I'm craving a bagel. It's comfort food for me, even in its saddest form. New Yorkers would laugh at these. The crumb is tender and they are easy to eat with a soft interior. They aren't boiled. They are essentially sandwich bread in the shape of a donut. That being said, however, the flavor is better developed than the bagels you'll get at the grocery store bakeries. I have not been to Einsteins in Provo for years. I usually visit the Park City location. The bacon, egg and cheese bagel was small, greasy and was smushed. I purchased an iced mocha. It was thick and disgusting. An iced mocha should not be thick. It's a nice location and is in need of an experienced barista that has tasted coffee. read more
