This is a very pretty clean park with lots of ducks & a beautiful lake. Spent many a day sitting on the park benches watching the awesome sunsets on the lake & feeding the ducks their duck food. Do not give the ducks bread, it gives them diarrhea & makes them sick. For a few bucks go to the feed store & get duck food. It's good for them & doesn't make a mess on the sidewalks in the park. Surrounded by an older neighborhood overlooking the intersection of two freeways, you would hardly know there is commuter insanity going on so close by. This is a lovely, large oasis, where families can throw off their city stress and thrust themselves into play time. I like the fact that there are mature trees, lots of grassy knolls, easy paths and bridges, and a cute duck and goose pond, fed by a little brook and waterfall. No wading permitted, but amazingly, you will see fishermen casting their lines for catfish and bass. I don't think I would want to eat those fish, the water was pretty mucky. There is a playground in the far east corner, quite a distance from the pond, so you can keep your eye on the little ones easier. Dogs are welcome, but always on a leash. Scattered throughout are park benches and picnic tables next to free standing bbqs. The only downer is that many of them are located far, far away from the parking areas. You'll be huffing and puffing and saying words that you don't want your kid to hear, if you don't bring your goods in the cooler with the wheels. They have two large public restrooms, but personally, I would avoid using them. We all know the world is not as nice, nor as considerate as it used to be. If you must, there are businesses close enough when that darn Mother Nature calls. read more

For a non-local person, this place may be considered an unsafe area for a park, but my friend who lives locally said that they are very comfortable with this park with adult supervision for their kids. I came to Eisenhower Park to meet some friends for a photo shoot. There is a lake, small waterfall, bridge, fishing, playgrounds for the kids, picnic areas with grills, shade and plenty of grassy area for whatever you want to do at a park. Wow! What a beautiful park in Orange with "all the goodies." Great large lake to walk around or go fishing. There were about 4 people fishing when I visited. Leading down into the lake there is a long and beautiful stream with river rocks and plants, and a small pool with a final waterfall over a bridge that goes into the lake. The sound of the water flowing was very relaxing. There are two playgrounds that are appropriate for children ages 1.5 and up. My toddler had fun with assistance going on the steps & slides. Not my favorite is playground wood chips. Two restrooms on site. Wheelchair and stroller accessible ramps throughout park. Also, many many picnic tables each with a stationary bbq to make Park lunches a snap. Many types of wildlife including ducks, geese, and fish. Variety of trees, leaves, and pine cones to explore on a nature walk! I recommend a visit! read more

This is a lovely park. We stopped by here last month while on a brief getaway. The park is quite large with a creek and a lake. Lots of walking paths but beware the ducks and geese rule this park! I love nature and ducks are great but we had a couple of moments that were kind of scary! Don't mess with them geese they'll come after you! I suppose they're used to being fed but geez I had a couple of to close for comfort encounters. I luckily survived and we all had a good laugh, however beware ohh and watch you don't step in duck poop. Even with the almost duck and goose attack; we had a great visit at this lovely park. A beautiful day, lots of shade trees and a pretty little wooden bridge. A great place to spend a few hours. read more

You can catch glimpses of this park from Lincoln Ave or Tustin Ave. Though from Lincoln Ave, you are more inclined to see ducks, ducklings and a swan or two shuffling across the terrain. There is a good sized lake/pond which is encircled by a nice walking path for visitors. As you follow this path uphill, there are a ton of picnic benches sprawled out through the landscape with a couple of playgrounds for recreation. My husband and I love this park and think it's a beautiful attraction for singles, couples and families. read more

This park still brings back so many memories, of when I was a child. It was the best park in the area, growing up as a 70's/80's child. Today, although the old playground equipment is gone, the best climbing trees removed, and the animals no longer contained in the farm area, it still rocks. There are 2 main playground sections that are suitable for both age groups (toddler swings, apparatus, and 5-12 years of age). There's a small pond, stream, and lake, full of ducks, rocks, and foilage. Bridges are everywhere, as are picturesque trees and backdrops. The trees are beautiful, they have 2 nice bathrooms, many picnic tables and BBQ's, plus plenty of parking. It's great for birthdays, reunions, celebrations, photo opportunities, walking, and serenity. We'll come back sooner next time and enjoy all its benefits longer. read more

We love taking our pup to different lakes, as it just gives her a bit more variety in her life. And, since she absolutely loves parks or anywhere that has trees and grass, she does like this park. If my pup likes it, then we like it :) There are two parking areas. There's one more north of the park, and one that is south west of the park. I think the northern one is a bit more easy to get to, while the south west one requires you to go through a narrow road to make it to the entrance. Though, even if you get past the entrance, you may have to deal with no parking available, anyways, so you'll have to somehow circle around the park to get to the northern one, or just park on the street somewhere (if there's any vacant space in this residential area). The northeast part of the park is mainly trees and grass. Just a big field to run around in. It does slope, so be careful with any running. The northwest part of the park (near the parking lot) has a creek running from there to the southwest park. That area also houses the playground area. The southeast part of the park houses the lake and a building that seems popular for weddings or big parties. There are squirrels and geese and a wildlife preserve (?) in the area. So, if you have a dog that loves chasing squirrels, there are a few of them. The geese and ducks are pretty mean, so do stay away. They WILL hiss if you're too close, and they WILL bite. Also, DON'T FEED THE WATERFOWL. That's why they're so badly tempered and aggressive. For the wildlife preserve, it might be more of a rescue or rehabilitation area when needed. Haven't seen too many animals in that fenced off area. Overall, good area. Can get pretty busy on the weekends. LOTS of families doing picnics and just hanging out. Unfortunately, also a good number of trash, sometimes. If you do visit, make sure to pick up after yourself. read more

I first visited Eisenhower Park (a.k.a. The Ike) as a lunchtime spot -- whenever I needed to clear my head from office crap -- more than 26 years ago. Since then, it's remained as one of my favorite places in northeastern Orange County. Why? It's hard to think of a better spot in the area to enjoy the beauty of VERY mature trees -- please note the link about Olive's history at the end of my review -- as well as the sheer pleasure of ducks, Canada geese and red-shouldered hawks cavorting about. Husband and I enjoyed our take-out lunch from China Wok amidst the trees here, at a picnic bench right in the middle of Ike. Yes, it was great to see relatively new and well-kept benches at this park -- but it was even better to take some time away from suburban bustle to take in the sound of the light breeze whistling through the trees. (Worth noting: The City of Orange is apparently right in step with going green, and the benches here proclaim proudly that they're MADE OF RECYCLED MATERIALS. Cool beans, huh?) To answer a few prescient questions cited in earlier Yelp comments about The Ike: * It's kept obsessively clean by city parks and recreation employees. Locals, apparently taking considerable pride in their large green area, do their part in tossing their trash in the numerous trash cans throughout the facility. * Years ago, I spotted a homeless individual snoozing soundly near the inner part of the park. I haven't seen him/her since. * Parking can be tight on weekends, I suppose, but it's never been an issue on weekdays. * Finally, make sure to keep your distance from the occasional swan geese (those huge white buggers) strolling about: Those guys get seriously ornery if you get within 20 feet of them. Best park in the area. It has a huge pond where people go and fish(I'm not 100% sure what fish swim in the pond). Very green, lots of big trees, and ducks! My boyfriend and I used to walked our Husky there a lot. They have two playgrounds for kids. A lot of picnic tables with their nearby charcoal grills. Restrooms and drinking water fountains. At night the park is well lit(we used to go around 8:30pm sometimes and never had an issue). During the weekends especially during the summer, the park gets packed. I love this park. Sometimes I just go here to walk around, headphones on - and just think in peace. It's really a beautiful place with so many different landscapes to explore. The place is huge, great place for family friends and pets. I can sit by the pond for an hour just admiring the scenery. So glad I work/live nearby. My husband and I came here one Saturday afternoon for the first time and I had a very pleasant experience. We found a table and ate our dinner. The environment is a family friendly one. The tables and chairs were well kept without duck/bird body wastes. If you like a variety of elevation for some cardio walks, this is a good one to walk theough. The trees are maintained nicely too. Overall, my experience there was of solace and warmth. Will certainly come back for another peaceful meal there and a walk. Really enjoy walking around this park. Big lake and my son love the ducks and geese. It gets very busy on the weekends for birthday parties. 2 different playgrounds. Downside there is geese poop all over the sidewalks/grass and some people let their dogs off leash and don't pick up after them. Another downside they spray pesticides and insecticides which we are then exposed to as we walk, play, and bbq in the areas they spray. So we do limit how often we actually go. read more

I came here with my 4 year old niece. We both loved it. It's a big park full of hills and especially friendly ducks. If you want more duck attention bring some break. Break place for a date also. Don't worry it's not cheesy I promise. The place is spacious and hidden. You'll wonder how could there be a park there in the middle of a city but it's perfectly situated in a quiet corner of the city where you won't see or hear traffic. read more

This park is really a huge disappointment for me. I've been to this park a handful of times over the past 5 years because I used to go there as a kid. Each time I'm reminded why I almost never go anymore. As a whole, the park is kept fairly clean but it depends when you go. I would stay away from this place at night because it can get a little over run with homeless and/teenagers, which may or may not make you feel uncomfortable. I don't think it's the best place for children and I've only taken my LO here once. The lake is nice if you want to see ducks but looks like the cement is never cleaned. It's covered in duck/goose poop so beware if you have littles just learning to walk. One time I saw a couple of dead fish floating on the side so...not a fun time. Also, I tried to take my son there a couple of weeks ago because we were in the area and he needed to run and play. I didn't even bother getting out of the car because there were 3 men in and around the playground area. I don't want to assume anything but I felt very uncomfortable. It's a decent park so I wouldn't say don't go there...but just be mindful of when you go and be careful. read more

There's a little pond here, which they apparently keep stocked as I saw a guy fishing here. Lots of ducks and geese running around. A nice shady spot. I finally had the opportunity to experience Eisenhower Park. This is an OK park. I enjoyed the play structures and the large grassy areas. One thing I would say is that there were a few homeless people just sitting around the lake or sleeping with their shopping carts and stuff. They were not pan handling or anything. It was just an odd experience to be hanging out with the family and having homeless people sleeping around you. Lastly the lake off Lincoln Ave. is gross. The city really needs to clean it up. It's a nice park, I'd definitely come back here again. We took a walk here to enjoy the weather and it's a perfect place for an outing with your children and family. I saw a few weddings taken place here last Sunday. There were people playing with their remote boats on the mini lake inside the park. Lots of shaded areas where you can hang out at. We've seen a few food carts which sell elote, sabritones and ice cream. Parking is free. read more

Finally I found a park out here that has a lake that you can just feed the birds at. It seems like every lake I've found either has no way to get to the water, a retarded no feeding the birds policy, or costs money to get inside. This park isn't huge but it doesn't need to be, it's just big enough to have enough space for the people who come and there's a nice trail around the water for people to walk and bring their dogs. There's plenty of ducks here and a family of geese which I've been missing since they destroyed Twin Lakes Park in Garden Grove. I'm glad to have found this place and plan to come back often to feed the birds, seeds not bread! Extend their lifespans and give them the food they're supposed to eat! read more

Perfect for young children! This park has truly improved. There is a nice lake filled with ducks and newly improved playgrounds. One of the playgrounds is strictly for small children while the other for bigger. On a Saturday afternoon, it was not too hot. Definitely coming here more often. read more

I went to the Park yesterday. Overall, it is an amazing park! I only hanged out by the lake surrounded by the geese and ducks. I do understand that people are complaining the poop on the ground. But I do believe it is just in the area by the lake. If the city can arrange a cleaning every once a while, that would be great! I did hear about safety issues. Hope the community can work with the police department to make it safer. I am sure that lots of people have seen the geese flying. Luckily, I saw it, too. I was at the stop sign about to leave the park. Twentish geese in a reversed V shape were flying over me. It was fantastic! It was too quick to take a video. The white pigeon is so adorable. Ok, to be truly honest, here's the deal... It's an OK park. Don't go there the day after major holiday if you expect a trash free park. Also, based on the times I've been there with my son, there was a heavy police presence which gives me a conflicted feeling (is it a good thing or a bad thing to see a constant police presence?) The park itself has some interesting historical links and there are some very old trees located on the property. There is a manmade stream that runs through the center of the park to the lake located in the southern part of the park. However, the stream is questionable in its cleanliness and I've seen locals splashing around in these waters (which is discouraged from many posted signs). My biggest concern is the presence of transiets at the south end of the park near Lincoln. Definately not a "warm and fuzzy" feeling for this park. If you take your kids here, my advice is to keep close watch on them. read more

The park features tree-lined walking trails around man-mad lake comprising of assortment of aquatic and wildlife. There are ducks and geese which are very friendly and freely approach park visitors. Plethora of picnic area, sears, chairs, benches and tables. There are vast open space playgrounds for children comprising of fun and engaging activities. There are plethora of picnic areas as well as BBQ pits. Park is open for major community and personal events such as family gatherings and wedding photo shoots. Stumbled upon this place one day with the boyfriend. We absolutely loved it! There were tons of duck in the little lake. So we actually came back later that evening to feed them. The park is beautifully landscaped- good enough for a wedding to be going on! It has tons of benches and bbq's for everyone to enjoy.
