This 124 acre park was established in 1984. You can park on the periphery, as I did the first time, but there are lanes of cars roaring past on a curved road, making the interior parking a much better option. The paths are concrete surrounded by green grass and rolling hills. some paths are flat throughout. I took a pathway along the river, which turned into a lake. The birds were plentiful. It was hopping with people; folks getting their steps in, like me. Moms, toddlers and strollers, and people walking dogs. The grounds were well tended. Healthy and lush grass. The trees are mature and plentiful. I read there is fishing, including catfish. There are several play areas for the kiddos. read more

Been coming here for years. The first thing that comes to mind when I think of Craig Park is Western Bluebirds. I see them almost every time I visit. They're so cute, always flying around, occasionally hopping on the ground in search of worms. Watching them just be birds is endlessly entertaining. And of course, there's Black Phoebes and Yellow-rumped Warblers. If you're not a bird person, you may not know what the heck I'm talking about. IYKYK! The park is big. I love driving around looking for birds and enjoying the scenery. I love driving towards the lake, park, and just sit there to bird-watch or just enjoy the peace. read more

I've passed by this park hundreds of times while driving through Brea over the years. I've always seen cars parked along St. College Blvd. It was only recently that I decided to visit. This park has everything. It has a paved trails with hills so that you can get your cardio exercise. It has a nice lake. Playground area. Lots of picnic areas. You want sports? They have basketball court, baseball fields and tennis courts. The park is about a mile long going north to south. Parking is $3 on weekdays and $5 on weekends. Free street parking is available on St. College Blvd on the west side of the park or on Rolling Hill Drive on the east side of the park. I was very impressed the first time I went. Its a super large park, more than a normal one. I would rate this place a strong 3.75. Lots of flat open spaces. Trails are easy and paved. A small lake or two. Quiet and outgoing. Part of the Fullerton control dam. Great for open group games, bikes rides, family time and also just a walk in the park.. picnic anyone. If it had more of an outdoorsy feel, or more trails for adventurous moments... then maybe I would have rated the park at a higher level. But the small bridges and kid jungle gyms are a great community touch... read more

Aww what a lovely park, been here many times. It's off state college by The Hat. Been coming here since baby girl was a baby. You have to pay to get in or you can park on the street weekends is more expensive but during the week it's $3. It's an awesome park for taking walks if you like, they have a few different playgrounds all around, a beautiful little lake and some bridges to cross. Has a lot of trees and hills it goes around so you can walk the entire park if you want as well. They also do concerts and movies here during summertime which is so fun. Came today for field trip for last day of school for the kids school. What a fun park day, the kids had a blast, it was a bit hot but there is some shade and trees so that is really nice. If you never been I would recommend coming to check it out great for families and kids or if you just want to take a nice stroll. Beautiful park with paved walking trails so definitely wheelchair and stroller friendly. There are some gravel trails around the park too if you like to be more at one with nature. There is a lot of shade in many areas of the trail. If you want to have a party, they rent out picnic areas for reasonable prices. Bathrooms are well maintained and there are playgrounds for the kiddos! You have to pay to park, but do what I did and park on State College Blvd. for free! read more

At first glance this is a great park. Beautiful scenery, well maintained, clean for the most part with lots of wildlife. The park rangers and park staff have been kind and helpful for the most part. There is a major problem at this park, that is deeply disturbing and I no longer feel safe bringing my children to this park. Other parents should be aware: Last Tuesday I was walking the park with my kids when I was approaching a hill above G lot where there was a homeless man drinking and exposing himself to kids urinating under the gazebo while facing the below playground!! My children were with me, and were exposed to this.. as were other children and parents below on the playground. (Aside from the point of this man exposing himself to children, THERE WAS A BATHROOM RIGHT BELOW NEAR THE PLAYGROUND!! NO EXCUSE!!! THERE ARE BATHROOMS ALL OVER THIS PARK AS WELL) After this happened I immediately alerted park staff who I spoke to twice about what had happened and was assured they would take care of it and alert the park ranger. Fast forward to today almost a week later, I come back and THE SAME homeless man is back AT THE SAME GAZEBO hanging out near the playground, but this time he brought a friend! On the way back to my car I notice the park ranger drove by the man twice and did nothing. I doubt the park rangers would allow this activity if it were around their kids or grandkids. It's very sad this is such a nice park and this predatory behavior Is allowed and in front of kids at that. SO WEIRD and DISGUSTING! read more

This is one of the beautiful parks in the area with lots of greenery. It's nicely paved, clean, & well maintained. I like that the walk way isn't all flat but it has a bit of incline here & there but easily doable for family, kids, seniors, & pets. I've seen people jogging/running & even riding their bikes. This park is huge with a lake, baseball field, basketball court, & plenty of picnic areas with bbq pits & tables. Also clean bathrooms as well. My husband & I usually walk 2x around the park & it's about 4.5 miles in total. You can add more steps if you walk through the residential area next to the basketball court. read more

Here Is another park we all come to hang out once or 2twice a month. Its just few miles from Cal State Fullerton and Fullerton JC Colleges. I love walking around the lakes. So much nature here to enjoy, and some sports. Some of the colleges have their practices of sports here. Nice to bring pets here and take them walking. I love this place. read more

Love this park! During the spring and summer months, this is the place to go, unwind, listen to the sounds of nature and walk. The 2 mile walking path is great if you want to start a weight loss journey since the path consists of inclined hills to challenge you due to the terrain and shady areas where you can catch your breath if you've been running. It definitely helped me shed the pounds! Oh yeah, if you go frequently, you see the "regulars" and you just automatically say hi to them and they know you're a "regular" too! The only thing that has been irking me are the unsupervised teenagers that have taken it upon themselves to ride their mini motor bikes into the park and have destroyed the grassy areas or they speed down the hills where they might hit someone. The e-bikes or motorcycles are not allowed on the pathway, road or grassy areas. Unfortunately, they don't care so they keep doing it. When the park rangers monitor and drive around the park, those teenagers speed away and hide. Then they see that the coast is clear so they'll keep doing it again...dang we can't have anything nice anymore. read more

A really nice park to relax at; it looked clean and well-maintained. If you walk on the outer edges of the park, it would be about 2.3 miles. There's also a nice little lake in the center of the park. There are also baseball fields, racquetball, basketball and volleyball courts. Free parking on the street on N. What a fabulous park! It is huge and literally has something for everyone. There is free parking on the street or paid for parking inside. Plenty of paves trails that have inclines to get a workout for the walker or jogger. Pet friendly with doggie bag stations around. Sporting enthusiasts can enjoy sand volleyball, handball, basketball or baseball areas. It's supper well maintained and clean. There are several playgrounds for kids to enjoy. Tons of benches, picnic tables and party areas to reserve. A gorgeous lake with wildlife to enjoy in their habitat. 4.5 stars. I went to this park for the very first time on a weekday in November. The weather was pretty perfect. It's large enough for good biking too and I'm glad there aren't a lot of ducks and geese all over. I only saw a small group in one area. The park is quite hilly so make sure the brakes on your bike are good. There are a couple of areas on the grounds where I have to get off my bike and walk it a few steps to get past the steep parts and there are a few other parts to reallyu be careful when going downhill. I do wish the park grounds were more level for more pleasant biking, but it will work your leg muscles well for walking. There are mostly paved paths, but there is a dirt path as well. When it's a noncrowded weekday, I actually feel fine biking in the streets, which I never normally do. This park is better than a few other regional parks I've been to. I would return again, but it's kind of far from me. read more

I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE TO BEGIN!!! Impromptu walk with one of my dearest friends turned into a walk full of BEAUTY! Parking is paid on the grounds of the park or plenty of free parking on the street. It started off a lil chilly, but warmed up a lil, by the end of the walk. The walking trails are paved and have mile markers. Good for walkers and runners with inclines for that lil extra umpf. Pet friendly with pet stations for waste disposal. The scenery is GORGEOUS ! There are a few jungle gyms for your littles to play. PLENTY of picnic tables to sit at and have a picnic. Covered picnic areas. The lake is kept up nice, ducks swim in the lake and I understand they add fish to the lake so people can fish. Idk know exactly when fishing season is or how often they fill it, but word on the street is they do. Some of the recreation areas are under construction/being upgraded, so they're outta service, like the basketball courts & baseball fields. This park is just BEAUTIFUL! Great for on location photo shoots, a place to mediate, or even a peaceful walk. Had a WONDERFUL DAY and would DEFINITELY recommend this park! read more

A guide for the shelters! I couldn't find anything online when trying to book a shelter so I made a trip over for intel. Here are my personal pros/cons of each. Shelter 1: Literally right next to the park entrance/easy to direct guests here Super close bathrooms Close/plentiful parking though not sure how busy the lot would get as it's the first area to park after you enter Playground in close walking distance This is the only shelter with a solid roof covering as opposed to the slats on the others Lots of level ground to setup canopies Not the best view/aesthetics 10 picnic tables Bounce houses OK Shelter 3: Really beautiful view of pond/entire park Bathrooms/nearest playground are a decent walk away - it's doable but you have to walk downhill and across the main road There is no designated lot here to park - you have to park along the main road or further down by shelter 5, I think parking is the biggest con here It's on a hill so limited space for canopies but there is a decent amount It's pretty close to shelter 4 so could get a little cramped if both are in use Somewhat secluded, aside from Shelter 4 10 picnic tables No bounce houses Shelter 4: In short, book shelter 3 before you book 4. They have all the same cons, but shelter 4 is smaller and has a lesser view. The walk is about 2 miles long and has some uphill and downhill. There is a lot of trees which makes it easy to walk on a sunny day without getting overheated. The park is very clean (the restrooms are too lol). Favorite park to come to for a nice walk read more

this a huge park near my house. i come to this park to either exercise or go on a picnic! exercise: walking around the whole park is about 2.5 miles. i usually like to walk 2 laps, for a total of 5 miles. the path is full of full areas, but also does contain some hills. so be prepared. wear comfortable shoes. there also isn't much shade during the walk, so i would recommend bringing sunglasses and a hat, and of course, wear your sunscreen! picnic: i love to picnic here because there is sooo much grass area where you can just pop a blanket down on the floor and chill. there are a a lot of trees here, so you can find shade on the floor. there are also a few tables that you can sit on as well. there is also a playground for children and a pond area, where i see some people fish (not sure if that is legal or not...). there's a lot to do here and i hope you give this park a try! street parking is free but i believe you have to pay if you want to park in a parking area closer to the park read more

Edward "Ted" Craig was a local oil man and politician in the 1920s and 30s in Brea. This park that bears his name is a great legacy; at more than 124 acres, the park is a beautiful respite from the hustle and bustle of urban and suburban life. For a nominal entry fee, visitors can enjoy numerous grassy areas, picnic tables, shade trees, an approximately 2 mile walking/jogging path, and various athletic fields. For the casual "nature" observer, there are various waterfowl and wading birds that can be seen here at the central lake area-- ranging from semi-resident ducks, egrets, and herons, to migrating geese and other birds just passing through in season. Considering all the critters here (in addition to the water birds, there are songbirds, squirrels, rabbits, lizards, and other larger animals like coyotes) please keep your doggie on a leash... safer for the small animals, and safer for your pup if something eyes her/him as a potential meal. Facilities and restrooms are well-maintained, and riff-raff is dealt with swiftly by local law enforcement. That said, there are no real problems here, and as a community park with an entrance fee, most folks take good care of the place and themselves while there. The park is occasionally used for large groups, gatherings, and more often for small families or individuals having a good time. read more

Ahhhhhhhh...... I really really enjoy going to this park especially when there are no people. During COVID times when gyms were closed I was coming to run here a lot and one loop is about 2 miles. There are a lot of scenic areas from the Fullerton Dam, a man made lake, and lots and lots of trees. The park is big and spacious enough where there are plenty of areas to have a nice comfortable picnic with a date or enough space to roam around with kids for adequate social distancing. The best times I feel are the morning and late afternoon. Lunch time and evening time it gets a bit more populated especially on the weekends. Still, it's a nice park to either stroll or just sit around and dare I say people-watch. But that's probably a bad idea because it'll look creepy... The squirrels are very brave here because they come very close to you. Probably getting a lot of food. Nice. read more

Cool little park. I came on a Sunday at 4pm and it was pretty packed. I parked on the street on Rolling Hills Dr and walked in from a little entrance off of Associated Road. There are signs that said "no stopping anytime", but there were more than 50 cars parked there, so I assume you can? However, it is street parking, so be aware of car burglars and it might just be better to pay and park inside if you want a little peace of mind. The park itself was very clean and nicely maintained. There was a little playground that was open for the kids, a lake, and several fields to play sports. Lots of people running and walking their dogs and people just chilling under the trees. If you need to get out of the house and clear your head for a bit, this park should be a good option. read more

What a beautiful space ... and there is sooo much space. Maybe it's the Covid 19 or maybe it's that people aren't frequenting this beautiful park. Either way there is so much grass space to picnic, play sports, set up a hammock... you can ride your bike, walk your dog or walk/jog. I personally went here with my husband to get some fresh air and play a game of chess on the green grass under the shady tree. You can park outside and walk in if you want the extra steps or you can pay to park in the lot. There are plenty of places to park! read more

I've been to many beautiful parks, but this one has become my absolute favorite! I happened to accidentally find it on my return from Orange to Fontana. This park is gorgeous, it's enormous, plenty of empty benches with open charcoal bbq pits. The restroom is clean and well maintained. Great place for a picnic, fishing and even going for a walk! For a Saturday we were surprised to find such a great spot! I highly recommend this park! Theirs a $5 dollar entrance fee, but it's worth it read more

CAUTION IF STREET PARKING: I would be remiss if I did not post that I have seen shattered car window glass repeatedly (10x or more) on the street of State College near one of the park entrances. BACKGROUND: I've been coming to Craig Regional Park since 2005. (1st birthday parties, company picnics, wedding, walking my dogs etc). The park itself is pretty spacious for playing sports, running, bike riding. They prohibit riding skateboards & scooters. You can also fish in the pond if you have a CA fishing license. I know this park is not perfect, but it's definitely a place that you can create a lot of memories at. My husband's birthday was this month so instead of having a dinner at a restaurant with friends (like he usually does) we decided to rent out a shelter and invite all our friends & family. There are some spots that are first come, first serve, however if you want to reserve one of the actual shelters, you need to make a reservation and pay a fee. You just go online and look for the date you want. If it's available you book it through the website and pay online. Reservation fees range from $100-300 depending on how large the space is. There are no outlets, so if you want to have a portable generator you need a permit. Also, if you want to hire catering or a bouncy house, you also need a permit. You can just contact their office to make sure. You can bring your own grill! (My husband wanted to cook on his own large propane grill). Dogs are welcome as long as they are on a leash. I brought a gate for mine which is also allowed. On the actual day, the ranger came over to us when we arrived to make sure we were the right party and went over a few of their rules (Don't feed the ducks! No Alcohol Allowed!). They came by at least 3 times to empty out all our garbage bins (wow nice!) We were at Shelter #5 next to the pond and directly across from us was a playground and the restrooms. The restrooms were really clean and many of my friends commented how clean they were. LOL Anyway, I love this park and would recommend it for anyone. Parking on the weekends is $5.00. If you're here for a walk or exercise, there is space right outside the park entrance for street parking so you can park outside to avoid the parking fee. read more

Had a fun night at the first Concerts in The Park 2019!! Hard Day's Night played some Beatles songs, 3 food trucks, beer and wine sales, some companies set up tents with giveaways, K-Earth 101 lots of OCParks workers and police activity. Port a potties and regular bathrooms available. Multiple playgrounds for the kids. It was a good time. I would go back. Wasn't too crowded not sure if it's because it was the first one, the weather or if this Concert in the park is less frequented. Park was nice and upkept and huge! One of those places that I checked in and realized I have never reviewed it??? Well, here it goes. Craig Park is a beautiful place with lots of vegetation and a nice lake and lots of playgrounds and places to chill. It is also connected to the Fullerton Dam which gives you dirt trail hiking to pair with the nice paved paths of Craig Park. My kid loves coming here and riding his bike and scooter and hitting the various playground. The hills can be a little steep but my son can be a daredevil at times. I have great memories coming here. My friend and I would go to Rods Liquor in Orange and get some cheap beer and big 20-pound ice blocks and then head here late at night. We would ice block the awesome hills that are here. This park was perfect for sliding down a hill with some friends and drinking cheap beers. We even found a spot where if you had enough speed you could launch from one hill over a small strip of sidewalk and land on the grass. I miss those nights..... Now I am older and have a 6-year-old so coming here is more of a family outing. Maybe when he gets older I will find some of those awesome blocks we used to get and take him here.....probably not the beers this time. But back to the park, def a great spot for a picnic or a bbq and a nice place to take up for the day and enjoy everything this place has to offer. As mentioned in other reviews this place can get a little busy on peak days and hours. Parking is pretty ample though. Probably one of my favorite parks in Orange County.
