Our plumber brought his apprentice over who knew there are 3 different price levels. Pure copper pipe. The parts that connect that have solder. And the brass parts Upon arriving we thought there would be an entrance in the back alley. Nope. Customers unload in front on San Fernando Rd. An attendant will give you garbage containers to haul metal in. We had 3 types so 3 bins. When the man at the weigh station put the copper on I was watching the screen and took a photo. (Our plumbers apprentice had warned us about this place and said the best price was in Simi or Sunland...too far and too long for our meager amount) Then he weighed the other two while we were talking with another staff member. (Shouldn't have been distracted while conducting business) The guy at the scale shows us the total and I realize the Copper 1 was now much lighter than the original weight! I showed him the photo on my phone and he corrected it! In hindsight I should have had all 3 weighed again. But we were tired, dirty and the whole process pretty depressing and I didn't want to make a huge deal out of it. So consumer beware! It's a good service they provide and somewhat convenient location. But be aware and pay attention! read more

Had to get rid of some old mufflers and not many places accept them (which made me dread the process)- but this place did! I didn't care about the money, I just wanted them gone. One of the workers saw me roll the bin outside to my car and he came out, grabbed the bin and sent me on my way. This turned into my go to recycling center in the Glendale/Burbank area. Fast and efficient service, no lines, clean and very easy to work with. I'm not sure what prices they pay per lb because I'd rather recycle by count to be able to get back all the money I spent on CRV. I visited them 3 times this week and once last week just to recycle some glass containers I had sitting in my backyard. Glass is heavy and not worth much. So each time I went there with 50 containers of the same color ready for redemption. All 4 times were fast in and outs. I think I spent 3 mins on each visit. They're located on a corner and I'm pretty sure street parking is the only option available. Not to worry because there's plenty of space on the street and super easy to find. read more

We got up so dang early last Sunday, amassed a small hill of plastic bottles and aluminum cans, squeezed them into my sedan, and headed out to West Side Recycling. Westsi-iiiiide of Glendale, that is (whut whut). We were all bright eyed, practically whistling the 'Hi Ho' song from Snow White, doing gung ho marching arms. All ready to roll up our sleeves and toss our loot into the awaiting trash cans on their sidewalk, then wait in line behind the big ballers with the real stuff: scrap metal, excess bling, what have you. From there, they quickly weigh everything and send you off to a mysterious window where a lovely woman hands over cash. For us, usually a ten spot -- plus a fiver, if we had been extra thirsty. We cruised up and everything was shut down. Um, they're closed on Sundays. Our lameness elicited a collective BOOOO. Yes, this has been an elaborate explanation on why I've been driving this week with trash bags full of bottles in my back seat. Still, props to the local all-purpose recycling center. I have been holding on to my recyclables for months now until I found this place. I had previously separated everything before going to make things easier. I pulled up out front dumped everything in the marked containers. All of the employees wore masks and gloves. They were very helpful and super nice and made everything work seamlessly. Mario one of the owners is a piece of shit. I had big pieces of metal to be recycle and I was told by the workers it would be done the following week. The worker gave me his number and he tells me it can not be done that week. He tells me you gotta wait till next week, so I tell him although I dont have much more time I guess wait again. This scum bag then never even has the disancecy to even answer me the following week. Other times when he also told me he would come and didnt show up, he lied and said the driver came and I was not there. It's like u have to beg this this idiot and chance him down to give him business. Dont deal with this u pleasant moron! I have only written a Yelp review once and it was to help a friend, so this tells you have frustrated he got me! read more
