I had high hopes for this restaurant, but unfortunately, I left wanting more. Maybe because I'm African, I felt the food lacked the love and depth of flavor I was expecting. My cousins and I decided to make a night of it and ordered a variety of menu items along with drinks. The drinks were on the pricey side and, in my opinion, not worth the cost. The appetizers were actually very good, but the disappointment started once the entrees arrived. The jollof tasted more like underwhelming Spanish rice, the oxtail was just okay, and the lamb chops were overcooked. Service was also inconsistent. Our food came out at different times--some of us were nearly finished eating by the time the rest of the entrees arrived, which took away from the experience. Overall, it didn't live up to my expectations, and I'm not sure I'd venture back again.

The food was 10/10 very delicious and filled with lots of flavor ,the ambiance is out of this world very romantic setting and the vibe from the DJ very nice touch,my husband and I celebrated our wedding Anniversary here and the Manager Kay was truly helpful and amazing she ensured that all the surprises were set up and the staff was super nice and helpful. The speed of service was also great there was no prolonged wait time for anything we truly will continue to come here for years to come. Looking for a nice elegant, romantic or just a chill spot this is the place to be amazing food, drinks and memories.

I celebrated my birthday with dinner at Eko and let me tell you - it did not disappoint! Everything was amazing. Located in Carnesie, Brooklyn you'll find the Afro-Caribbbean restaurant and lounge bringing you good drinks, delicious food and all the vibes. I had reservations for 7pm and arrived a bit early but the place was pretty empty except for a few people at the bar. So needless to say we were seated immediately. Our waiter Tammy greeted us and provided menus. We ordered drinks - I highly recommend the coconut rum punch and some apps for the table - Jerk Spring Rolls, Oxtail Dumplings, and Wings. All very good and made to perfection. Shortly after, our entrees were served - a few dishes we ordered were Jollof Rice with Jerk Chicken and Oxtail, which came with sautéed spinach, Jerk Salmon with garlic mashed potatoes, Eko Pasta (rasta pasta) with Oxtail, and plantains. The food was so good we asked the waiter if the chef can come out so we can pay our compliments and put a face to the food. Chef Pamela did her thing! The food was packed with bold flavors and spice with the perfect amount of heat. To top it off they sang Happy Birthday with a personalized sign and carrot cake (my choice). Another plus here is the location - situated in a shopping center so there is plenty of parking. Overall, the experience here at Eko was great! I will definitely be back for more!

Good food but service was slow. Good music and they have a private space in the back for group dining.

This is a hip establishment. The music is hip and the ambience is chic and contemporary. Many of the patrons were dressed up celebrating birthday parties and other festivities. This food is African with a Caribbean twist. I recommend the oxtail dumplings. Can't go wrong with this choice. Another must try is the Salmon sliders. The service can be improved. At times , I felt we were waiting in vain for our waitress to return to our table.

Very chic spot. Decided to give it a try. The food was just ok. My main issue was the extensive wait for the food especially as it wasn't particular crowded. Food is on the pricier side. Drinks were ok. As they are relatively knew and finding their ground I won't count them out. Will try again in a few months.

The good the music was real good and it's a pretty nice place. The bad the wait was way too long we had reservations at 9 we didn't get to our section into 10. It took so long for them to just bring drinks and appetizers. I didn't get to my main course into 11.

    EKO Pasta aka rasta pasta

I was searching for an African Caribbean restaurant that had lamb chops, Egusi, and rasta pasta. Got it all in this fusion restaurant in brooklyn. The ambiance is amazing, the employees and manager was great and knowledgeable about the culture. Im definitely coming back and bringing my family.

Food came out cold and service was poor. Took an hour just to get our food seating to 30 minutes with the reservation.

"Deep in Brooklyn, hides the Caribbean"…read more Came here on sleepy Tuesday. Not many people in the restaurant but lots of take out going on. The friendly one woman staff helped seat us, recommend the dishes, made the drinks, prepped and served the food. It was all tasty. What's to cheer - Nice not to too sweet homemade rum punch - Solid, flavorful oxtail. Very island spiced and cooked well - Goat was also really strong - Reasonable prices - service with personality What's to jeer - they were out of the jerk chicken unfortunately which I really wanted to try - place is pretty low key and not swimming with ambience

Service was excellent, we felt like we were visiting an old friend who happens to have a great restaurant. The food was delicious, we had the home made sorrel perfectly sweetened and the right amount of ginger. The oxtail with rice and peas with cabbage was on point. The meat was perfectly tender and the gravy was savory, the rice and peas was moist and delicious, the cabbage had a nice flavor and texture and the side of fry plantains were perfect, the right level of soft and sweet. Upon arrival the restaurant is very clean, and the service was fast. There is a dine in area as well. The woman who took my order was very patient , and personable. I ordered a brown stew fish, cabbage and 3 small soups. Everything came out to about $49. The chicken soup was very good . The cabbage was also very good. The fish on the other hand was very salty and not worth the $20 charge (fish with no sides). I get it the area etc etc but for the price the food should be top notch. The other establishments are much better. Would I return.....I don't think so .

Escovitch fish meal which came with plantains, rice and peas, and spinach. Everything was still warm and tasty when I arrived home. The order was packaged nicely. Definitely, nice portions for the prices. Place is clean. Staff is friendly, informative, and service was amazing. It takes about 10 minutes for the fish since they make it to order. I will soon be back and may have them do some catering orders for me( usually order from the location on flatbush). Pop in if you ever get in the area and want some hot warming food.

For the table, we ordered the oxtail stew, fried chicken, yams, collard greens, and mac & cheese. I also had a Peach Bellini for a little bubbly. Everything was exactly as I remembered -perfectly cooked and well seasoned, large portions with more than enough to take home. The chef stopped by our table which was a nice touch. Service overall was great. They also make great use of such a small space. It is indeed well worth the visit. Side note, we ordered the same exact items off the menu as we did a year ago...only one thing was missing which was the biscuits with the flavored butter jam. We were told the biscuits were replaced with cornbread. I didn't order the cornbread this time around but would like to see the biscuits return at some point.
