The name changed as well as the quality. Sorry to say that a favorite place for Mexican food is now sub-par. Quality and quantity has decreased. I ordered a make your own plate of three items. I got two chicken chimichangas and one burrito. The queso blanco sauce was so thin, I thought it was milk. The chimi's were so small, I thought the kitchen made a mistake and sent out flautas. Nothing was spiced properly nor were the chimi's crisp. Service was okay except was never offered a refill. Avoid this place as there are better places to go in the area.

Had the lunch sampler. Shells, ground beef, lettuce, cheese. They get 2 stars because the service was decent and the salsa was pretty good.

We ordered a daiquiri, they came out watered down with very little strawberry mixture and I'm not even sure what else was in it, but it was bitter and gross so they remade it and it came out pretty much the exact same way no flavor, bitter watered down.. the waitress was very sweet and she did take the drink off, but did not offer to take the southwest egg rolls off. My spicy shrimp tacos were OK. I did not like the sauce which was very tomato pasty. My wife had a Hawaiian bowl and it was very good. This place reminds me of a bar trying to dip their toes in to Mexican food, but not doing a very good job except it is called poblano's and by that fact alone they should be putting out some good food.

The quesadilla was well cooked. Stuff with goodies and not soggy. The smothered burrito was the best thing we tried on the menu. I highly recommend the queso smothered. However if you opt to have the protein opted out for veggies there is an up charge. Service was quick and friendly. Overall a solid meal. Parking is ample and in the back.

El Arbol is definitely a cool spot visually, and I really wanted to love it based on all the great…read morereviews. Unfortunately, the atmosphere was much better than the food for us. The restaurant itself is bright, colorful, clean, and really well designed. I loved the clever bench seating, the bar was well stocked, and there's outdoor seating plus an upstairs area that looked really cool. They also have a walk-up taco window outside, which is a fun idea. We sat in the bar area, and the service was amazing. Everyone was friendly and attentive. The food, though, was really underwhelming. Almost everything we tried lacked seasoning and flavor. I ordered the chicken enchiladas, which had very little chicken and were pretty bland. I did like the very thinly sliced jalapeños on top. The rice was nice and fluffy but didn't have much flavor, and they serve black beans, which just aren't my preference with Mexican food. The house-made salsa was surprisingly sweet, and I was disappointed that the chips didn't seem house-made. If I'm going out for Mexican food, fresh chips are one of those little things I really look forward to. My husband ordered tacos at $6 each, which felt pretty steep considering we're used to excellent tacos in the $2-$3 range. His carne asada was cooked closer to medium rare, which wasn't what we expected at all from carne asada. The queso was another disappointment. It tasted very similar to Rico's cheese sauce you can buy at the grocery store. Overall, great service, great decor, very clean and a fun atmosphere, but the food just didn't match the setting or the reviews for us. At these prices, I expected a lot more flavor. Unfortunately, we left pretty disappointed.
