Went in Mother's Day and were pleased to find out there wasn't a wait. Service was lovely and menu is huge. It's exactly what you want from a Mexican restaurant with all of the classics and some unique offerings. The vibe in here is festive and authentic. There is parking in the back as well as street parking which is nice especially on busier days like we had. My in laws had some draft beer and we really enjoyed the complimentary chips and salsa. It had a nice flavor with a bit of a kick but nothing crazy, I enjoyed the arroz con pollo with added grilled onions and guacamole, very fresh and yummy. Their salsa not so great and fajitas are okay. There chimichongas, I have now had more than one and they are not good. It has been since the firprat opened but their tamales had no flavor. Have a situation where deliveries are very important. Tried to order food to be delivered by Door Dash online & the order went through only to have Door Dash tell me that they don't deliver from there, but that they would tell Dom Filipe about the order. That meant that I would get stuck with the bill with no delivery. I called the restaurant immediatly & they told me to contact Door Dash. I was super upset because Door Dash usually doesn't address such issues in corporate until the next day. Somehow Dom Filipe's made this delivery happen! We really appreciate that. read more

The food is good very hot when you get it. When they first opened me and my family tried it and we enjoyed it.

This is a hidden gem. They do not have a wide range on the menu, like street tacos or variety of proteins (el pastor, Lengua). Don't feel like that means you won't have good vittles though. The soup had so much flavor and packed full of chicken. My lunch date ordered a California burrito that was slamming with flavor and the portion size was nice. Highly recommend trying them if you're in Clio instead of the corporate owned locations near the freeway. You will be happy you did. Also don't forget to tip your servers, I hate that I have to even say this but man do I not get why people feel they don't need to do this. read more

Visiting some family in Frankenmuth and it was suggested to go here instead of in town. I could tell my family and her friends liked this place and came here all the time but I wasn't impressed. I felt the dishes were very bland. I had a dish of 5 different enchiladas and you couldn't tell the difference they all tasted exactly the same. No distinct flavor within the sauce or meats at all. The restaurant also had a very strong cleaning fluid smell that really bothered me while I ate. Almost to the point where I felt like I could taste it. The staff is very friendly, however there was a little language issue some food was wrong. And to top it off someone in our party found hair in their food, so no we won't be back. I'm not from this area but I rolled the dice and decided to give Don Felipe a chance. Well, it looks like I rolled a couple of five's which equals a 10. Could not be happier that we decided to eat here. I could see walking in that they had a patio space overlooking the street which looked like a cool spot to post up. We were quickly greeted and shown to our seats on the patio overlooking the street. The space look to be freshly built or remodeled. The server greeted us very quickly and had a smile on his face the entire time he was working. The menu has everything that you would expect from a Mexican place and the prices were incredibly reasonable. Chips and salsa were a delight. The chips were warm and the salsa was peppery with a hint of fresh cilantro and lime. I ordered chorizo queso for an appetizer - One of the best queso dishes that I've ever experienced. The chorizo was full of flavor without being overly spicy and the case I would definitely tasted homemade. They served me a 33 ounce Modelo in a frosted mug - incredibly refreshing. we ordered the chicken street tacos and a burrito with chorizo chicken shrimp pineapple and covered in queso. Both dishes were impressive. The chicken tacos were seasoned very well and I love the corn tortilla it was fresh and chewy. The tacos were topped with a grilled jalapeño, onion and a unique slice of cactus. My brother did not think he could eat the entire burrito but could not stop once he started. They also brought us additional dipping sauces such as habanero and Verde salsa. I would bottle the Verde salsa and start selling it in the grocery store immediately. The food is always good here. Eating in the restaurant is great entertainment too. I've never had bad service here.

I hate the booth seating. Every move the person sharing your seat behind you makes can be felt, and vice versa. It doesn't help that if you have sub-par clientelle coming into this establishment, they shake their side even moreso after you've sat down because they can't handle the minor inconvenience of someone getting settled into their side of the booth. It's awful. Fix your booths so they don't shake. It makes the dining experience incredibly uncomfortable and can create tension between customers. It looks like they are adding a bar so maybe they can also fix the booth seating so you're not being shaken around also? The food is fresh, but it's expensive and also tastes like your typical Mexican American fare. I find it endearing that the staff there speak Spanish, but I wish they'd bring some of that authentic Mexican to their dishes as well. read more

Tried the enchiladas they read tasty on the menu so took a chance even though always in the past at other places they were not good. Enjoyed them very much would order them again. Git the cinco to try them all, beef and cheese was my favorite although all were good. Girlfriend got the chimichanga which was also good. Flan was tasty and the margaritas were a great size.
