I prefer the regular taco (chorizo) over any of the other meat options. I really wish they would bring back the fried clucker. The smoked clucker is OK but not a favorite. You can ask for the nacho chips in a separate bowl so the chips don't get soggy. Check this place out and have a tenacity beer. read more

When they first opened it was much better. Now it seems the prices have been raised and the quality is lacking. Their tacos are alright but the last couple times I've eaten them the shells aren't cooked properly and are floppy and soggy. If you're going to use corn tortillas, they need to be heated properly or they're just nasty. The chips and queso for $8 is a bit steep- I'd be fine paying this if the chips were fresh & homemade. These are some bland bag chips with a small amount of cheese. Food trucks are expensive, which is fine when the quality is there. I just can't say this to be true for VCT. Every ingredient in The Oinker is something that I would eat in large quantities on its own (well... maybes not solo cilantro, but yea), so to see that someone had the idea to put them all in a double-shelled taco and sell it out of a truck... yes, I am absolutely 100% all for it. The ratio of toppings to meat is just right (very generous helpings of both), and everything tastes superfresh and perfectly prepared. The size of each individual taco is quite perfect as well, because it's satisfying enough for a mildly hungry person. Taco x2 would definitely qualify as a full meal that will leave you stuffed and happy. Protip: this is one of my favorite spots to hit up at the Farmers Market! Mmmm so good. They've got a truck located at tenacity brewery. You order right at the bar and they bring the food in to you. I got the chorizo as a bowl- they have the option to do chicken, chorizo or tofu in a variety of ways- tacos, nachos, burrito, bowl with beans and rice. The bowl was good but i was really full by the end of it. Good mix of flavor and just a little spice. And came with a lime wedge on the side. We also got chips and pico de Gallo. The pico is really fresh and tasty. The chips mmm the chips- highly recommend. They must be deep fried- they're so crispy and flaky they almost taste like wonton wrappers. A little greasy but so good. They were also nice and accommodating - did my bowl without dairy without any issue. read more

Such a delight! I'm so happy that we have a phenomenal taco truck that can call downtown Flint home. Both the food and service are pretty much beyond reproach. Yes, I'm talking about a food truck, but the food is really good. I'm talking really good! Fresh ingredients, ginormous portions and everything is prepared to order with limited waiting time. At this point, I've had the Rooter, Nachos Verde sans meat, regular tortilla chips with salsa, and the Capper. There is nothing I wouldn't recommend. Another thing I love about VCT is the selection of vegetarian-friendly items on the menu- namely, the Capper and the Rooter, along with a handful of terrific sides. Plus, those items can be specially hand-prepared as "vegan" upon request. Now that's something that keeps me coming back over and over again. On top of that, my special request to leave the meat off of the Nachos Verde was no issue at all. I love how their tortillas and chips are just oily enough, but not overly greasy, just the way I like them. Thus far, the Rooter is my favorite entree, loaded with sweet potato fries, black beans, jalapeno avocado sauce and fresh cilantro and packed with flavor. It's huge and filling and so delicious, though the Nachos Verde (meatless version) is an ever bigger bang for your buck and holds its own when it comes to flavor with its pickled red onions, queso fresco and poblano peppers smothering some of my favorite tortilla chips. Yes, most of the items are a little spicier than expected, but that's because they've been dining at Taco Bell too long. For myself, I rather like the little extra "kick" the food has- it beats that bland assembly line fast food any day. My husband (and some of our friends) raved about the Oinker and especially the Clucker during a trip downtown to visit VCT after Art Walk last October. Now they've all become huge VCT devotees as well. We even got my friend, Jen, who is super picky when it comes to food, to try it and she hasn't stopped talking about it since. Admittedly, it's not super authentic Mexican fare. Nope, rather it's a Mexican-fusion style, but it's so good, who cares? Plus, the prices are unbelievably cheap. The most expensive item on the menu is the Rooter at $9 (cheaper without meat) and it feeds two people (sometimes three) easily. Most everything else is $3-$4 apiece and the portions are large. I think my husband and I have rarely spent more than $9 total together at one time and we weren't hungry afterward, either. read more

I was intent on finally having a VC taco, snow or not. The special that day was a coney dog taco, and holy crap was it good. Suddenly the snow wasn't so bad... I used to go to this truck after my programming class, and like you see in the other reviews, their food is great. The pricing is worth it and I often gave them tips because I wanted to see their business flourish. I stopped going because of the workers. They initially began teasing me in a more polite manner, I suppose that's normal considering I was a usual customer. Eventually I could not go there without overhearing jokes about me, and they stopped being funny ones too. Mostly stuff just based on how I looked or what I was wearing. I have had the clucker, the rooter, and the siracha fries. The clucker was phenomenal. I really really enjoyed it. The fries were also really good, although not as good as I was hoping (I would still order them again). I was surprised to like the curry ketchup as I normally do not like curry. I was rather disappointed in the rooter. I think it has the potential to be great, but it seriously lacked some seasoning. All in all I really like their food and highly recommend it. Some of my friends think I'm crazy, but I will drive out of my way to find the taco truck. Some nights you just have to have a clucker. Some of the most delicious tacos I've ever had. I'm not one for pico or onions but to eat these tacos every topping is meant for the best flavor. I ended up getting one clucker and one oniker, could choose which on was better, both delicious! I got these at Remax Select on Hill Rd, a great location and opportunity to try the tacos. They drove all the way to the Toledo area for my wedding and not once did I see anything but smiles from these amazing folks. And their tacos - HOLY SMOKES THEY WERE GOOD. I've had so many guests tell me that they were the best tacos they'd ever eaten, and I could not stop eating the amazing sriracha fries.
