I prefer the regular taco (chorizo) over any of the other meat options. I really wish they would bring back the fried clucker. The smoked clucker is OK but not a favorite. You can ask for the nacho chips in a separate bowl so the chips don't get soggy. Check this place out and have a tenacity beer.

The Oinker

Every ingredient in The Oinker is something that I would eat in large quantities on its own (well... maybes not solo cilantro, but yea), so to see that someone had the idea to put them all in a double-shelled taco and sell it out of a truck... yes, I am absolutely 100% all for it. The ratio of toppings to meat is just right (very generous helpings of both), and everything tastes superfresh and perfectly prepared. The size of each individual taco is quite perfect as well, because it's satisfying enough for a mildly hungry person. Taco x2 would definitely qualify as a full meal that will leave you stuffed and happy. Protip: this is one of my favorite spots to hit up at the Farmers Market! Orrrrr late nights in the free flat lot on the corner of Kearsley and Saginaw. Always a nice surprise when I see the big white truck on the way to my car. Perfect midnight snack!

Such a delight! I'm so happy that we have a phenomenal taco truck that can call downtown Flint home. Both the food and service are pretty much beyond reproach. Yes, I'm talking about a food truck, but the food is really good. I'm talking really good! Fresh ingredients, ginormous portions and everything is prepared to order with limited waiting time. At this point, I've had the Rooter, Nachos Verde sans meat, regular tortilla chips with salsa, and the Capper. There is nothing I wouldn't recommend. Another thing I love about VCT is the selection of vegetarian-friendly items on the menu- namely, the Capper and the Rooter, along with a handful of terrific sides. Plus, those items can be specially hand-prepared as "vegan" upon request. Now that's something that keeps me coming back over and over again. On top of that, my special request to leave the meat off of the Nachos Verde was no issue at all. I love how their tortillas and chips are just oily enough, but not overly greasy, just the way I like them. Thus far, the Rooter is my favorite entree, loaded with sweet potato fries, black beans, jalapeno avocado sauce and fresh cilantro and packed with flavor. It's huge and filling and so delicious, though the Nachos Verde (meatless version) is an ever bigger bang for your buck and holds its own when it comes to flavor with its pickled red onions, queso fresco and poblano peppers smothering some of my favorite tortilla chips. Yes, most of the items are a little spicier than expected, but that's because they've been dining at Taco Bell too long. For myself, I rather like the little extra "kick" the food has- it beats that bland assembly line fast food any day. My husband (and some of our friends) raved about the Oinker and especially the Clucker during a trip downtown to visit VCT after Art Walk last October. Now they've all become huge VCT devotees as well. We even got my friend, Jen, who is super picky when it comes to food, to try it and she hasn't stopped talking about it since. Admittedly, it's not super authentic Mexican fare. Nope, rather it's a Mexican-fusion style, but it's so good, who cares? Plus, the prices are unbelievably cheap. The most expensive item on the menu is the Rooter at $9 (cheaper without meat) and it feeds two people (sometimes three) easily. Most everything else is $3-$4 apiece and the portions are large. I think my husband and I have rarely spent more than $9 total together at one time and we weren't hungry afterward, either.

One Riser taco. A meal unto itself.

Ask the Community - Vehicle City Tacos

Hi , do you guys have gluten and dairy free items?

Thanks for asking! We do have a rice bowls and our tortillas are corn-based. We do not have any dairy free cheeses but you can hold the dairy on anything you order. Hope that helps!

The thing I like about food trucks is that they allow you go to an old familiar place--a brewpub,…read moresay--yet try something new. Last night it was Holy Smokes at Witch's Hat Brewing. My wife and I shared plates of the Fresco and Carolina-ah tacos. The Carolina-ahs features some crisp coleslaw relish and chopped pickles on lightly smoked pulled pork. A little dry without the sauce, but fine once I got it slopped. The Frescos had pico de gallo and avocado creamy, and came pre-sauced. Easily the winner of the two--crema+sauce+smoky pig=return visit (perhaps to try the Fresco with smoky chicken). We split a side (small cup) of the crisp, tangy coleslaw and wished we'd gotten two. I would say the taco/meat proportion was a bit off. The meat sat low in a large soft tortilla, and good as it was, would have been better less freighted with dough. But, I can always scoop the filling from one taco into the other two on the plate. Like I said, we're going back.

Holy crap, we just finished a delivery meal from these guys and wowwww! This was our first order…read moreand we went with the 7 layer nacho. First of all, everything was separated for take out which is awesome cuz we ate like 1/4 of our order so it'll heat up nicely tmrw. Second, omg sooo good! We got their medium bbq sauce, half smoked chicken, half smoked pork which was delicious, there's so much cheese and beans...and it's just so good! Right now they're delivering to the Davison Goodrich Grand Blanc area, and we are so glad to have found this tasty treat!! 400stars rating not available on yelp, but you get the idea

July 3rd and we get a craving for Mexican. Two different Mexican restaurants we like crapped out…read moreclosing early with the upcoming holiday so we search Yelp and find Yevette's gourmet Tacos, which is a food truck. Yevette's location was only 5 minutes away from the restaurant we went to but it was unannouncingly closed, so we gave her a shot after seeing her 5-star reviews. Her trick was open, and her menu is very basic but we were pleasantly surprised with how good her food is. My wife got soft shell, I got hard shell and we loved her taco's and will be back. Options were beef, turkey, or collared greens vegetarian taco's. If you are in the mood for food truck taco's you will not be disappointed. I added just a touch of salt to mine but we both thought her meat was wonderfully seasoned, and her hard and soft home made shells were delicious. Try her! You won't be disappointed!

Uh oh, there's a new taco truck in town…read more I knew there was another food truck roaming around town, but hadn't had a chance to try it out until recently. I was downtown and spotted Yevette's parked downtown on Saginaw Street and decided to gamble and give it a chance. Ultimately, the gamble was worth it. When I walked up to the truck, the line seemed kinda long, but it moved pretty quickly. The owner (Yevette, no doubt), was friendly and polite. I ordered the loaded nachos without meat and before I could think twice about it, I had a takeout box featuring some very tasty nachos, piled high with sour cream, cheese, guacamole, zesty salsa, and fresh veggies. I might add, the tortilla chips were incredible. I don't know what they're doing to get those babies to taste like that, but whatever it is, I'd say it's working. In other words, don't stop doing what you're doing! They were slightly oily, salty and baked to perfection. I think I might have found the Holy Grail of tortilla chips. Hands down, those chips were a winner. Aside from tacos, nachos and other Mexican staples, they sell treats like elephant ears, sodas and the like, too. Prices were a tad higher than I would've thought, but not bad. The nachos came in a variety of sizes and the smallest order was $6, according to the menu board. Still, the quality is there, so paying a but extra wasn't much of a problem. I could see how some people might take issue with some of the prices, but I thought the food was reasonably priced for the market. The big gimmick surrounding this taco truck is the truck itself. Yevette's is housed in a restored Titan motor home from the seventies. Yep, those old RVs of yesteryear. At the very least, it's a conversation piece. I asked Yevette how old the RV dated back to, she replied that it was around 1973. Wow, kudos to her and her staff for keeping that thing roadworthy. There's always room for another food truck downtown. Variety is the spice of life, anyway. So, if you see an old Titan motor home tooling around downtown Flint, chances are that some delicious tacos will be close behind.

Tried Smash House for the first time tonight it was phenomenal. I ordered the double without onions…read moreand all flavors mashed very well. Service and atmosphere were also great with a relaxing vibe. Any question I had asked about menu items the server was knowledgeable on which was great as I'm normally a ketchup and mayo burger guy. I was glad I listened and tried whatever sauce they make and use. I've noticed some other lower reviews and folks have to realize this whole structure of everything is a new concept to the area that has to work thru kinks. People in this "gen" aren't built like the old days. Stuff needs worked out and opinions need voiced in person rather than try to ruin a new business in town because it's not like your grandpa made it back in 72 over the exhaust of his cutlass. Try it, place is good and it pleased my oversized 31 year old stomach. I'll be back soon for the lollipop pork things I saw on the menu and to try the michigan dog. Beer inside is also good. Neat selection but I think the review for inside is separate from Smash House.

I liked the chips, not sure if you can upgrade to fries, but I also got a garlic parm waffle fry with their aioli. It was tasty. We also tried the BBQ rip lollipops. They were meaty and filling. They came with celery and blue cheese or ranch, we got the blue cheese. I like that the ribs came with a veggie, good choice not to only do carbs as sides. I am sad that I did not try the lobster roll, but I felt that I should get what they are know for first before venturing outside the box. The people working here seemed friendly and helpful. We were able to order and pick up in a reasonable amount of time, it was packed here in general. I am not sure about using the QR code, I just went to their trailer and ordered in person. This place is a big expensive for what you get, it is typical of food trucks to have small portions and high prices. But, if you are eating here, you are paying for an experience. This is a party atmosphere for all ages. You can eat outside, which we did, or inside. They have lawn games outside and arcade games inside on two levels. I would eat at this place again. I would just like to see perhaps a larger fry portion or slightly cheaper burger price.
