I just left this place and couldn't wait to write a review. Came here after searching Yelp for an inexpensive, Latin lunch nearby. Anyone who knows me, knows I love Latin American food. From Argentina to Cuba I love all Latin cuisine. As I was driving to have my car serviced, I realized I was in a culturally-rich, Latino neighborhood. In my short drive I saw Mexican , Dominican , Venezuelan , Cuban and Colombian restaurants lining my route. I immediately paused and scanned my Yelp for lunch so I could patronize one of the small businesses in the area. This cute spot is in the food court of the Plaza del Sol Latin American Mall. When you walk in the main entrance of the mall itself you're immediately hit with tons of Latino shops selling everything from fajas to vestidos formales. It has an awesome vibe. Just around the corner is the food court. Arepazoo Is in the back right corner of the food court. Being that I had already looked them up on Yelp, I I already knew what I wanted. The Patacones con carne . I also ordered Kola Champagne (one of my faves). My total with tax, was only $8.05. After waiting about five to seven minutes, I received a buzz on my pager telling me that the food was ready. When I walked up, I found perfectly cooked patacones enveloping a serious sandwich. Yum After I took my Yelp-requisite picture (you're welcome ) I dug in. Before I spill the tea let's rewind. I love Patacones. They are my absolute favorite side. I love them so much, I can make a meal out of them. My Grandma and my friend's mom are tied for the best Patacones ever in my book. I am a patacones oficiando. I know good ones and I know bad ones. It may seem like a straightforward dish but in reality, it is one not easily mastered. Now for the tea this sandwich was effin' AMAZING. Patacones that were crispy and well seasoned and the perfect thickness cooked in nice clean oil. The carne was amazing, cooked ropa vieja style and seasoned to the nines. It was tender and juicy. The carne was topped with lettuce, tomato , queso fresco and two house-made salsas (roja y verde) both mayo-based. When I tell you I devoured this sandwich, I mean it. Best of all, this $8 gem of a meal had me stuffed full. When I finished, I had to take a break because I immediately felt a post-meal nap trying to take me down right at the food court table. After a brisk walk through the mall, I was back on my way. Absolutely loved this place. It ranks high on the best things I've ever eaten. I'll be back.

    La Arepa El Arepazoo.

Not cheesy or flavorful enough for me, but fine. My kids liked them and honestly that's good enough for me.

The home fries were a bit oily, but adding ketchup helped, and I still enjoyed them. The mimosa came in a regular cup with no ice and a small bottle of Barefoot Bubbly, which I actually appreciated because I could pour as much or as little as I wanted. The stuffed French toast was really good too. As for the service before being seated, I was a little discouraged, and at one point we almost walked out. I had really been craving Keke's before the end of our trip though, so I convinced my husband to stay. We weren't acknowledged when we first walked in, and the three employees at the front were all busy doing different things. The host stand seemed to turn into a cashier station, a drink pickup area, and a walkway all at once, so there wasn't much organization or a clear order for guests coming in. I think having a better system during peak hours would make a big difference. Once we were seated, though, the service was good. The atmosphere was chill, busy, and very family-oriented. Overall, we enjoyed the food, but we'll probably try a different Keke's location the next time we're in town.

Thanks to Yelp! I was able to find a restaurant to fulfill my craving for some delicious ribs in…read morethe area! I was about 25 minutes away, when I took my family here, and they were wondering where we were going, but let me tell you, they were not disappointed by the food, service and the surround area. When we arrived, it seemed like a downtown area that was kind of chill because it was a Tuesday early evening. Barely any traffic around and tons of open parking, especially right in front to the restaurant. From the front I noticed some funny signs, a patio that was wide open for seating, yard games and a nice cozy dive bar vibe. When we went inside, we were immediately greeted at the counter by our server. It was not busy, there was actually only one customer sitting at the bar. The bar has about 6 seats and has TVs to watch and the restaurant if filled with tons of cool Classic Rock pictures, memorabilia and quotes. It was just the vibe we needed to just hang as a family. The server allowed us to pick any table we wanted. We ordered margaritas. They were delicious. We also has the RIBS, okra, mac & cheese, potato salad, some greens, cornbread, brisket, grilled cheese sandwich and fries. EVERYTHING, including the SERVICE was on point; we left well fed, satisfied and happy we found this place to eat tonight. To walk off the food , there is a park right across the street. At the park you will find food trucks for dessert, like ice cream on a hot day. There's also a walking trail and a play ground for the kiddos. There was an area where people were fishing off the doc. I saw an area where people also get married and a facility for our veterans. I included some pictures of what I saw along my way after I left the restaurant for people looking for things to do in the area with a family and/or friends. If you're ever in the area, I highly recommend you stop by this restaurant for some good eats, drinks and just a place to relax and have a good time. There's also service is great and the area is filled with things to do afterwards. Thank me later.

Lindsay gets a special shout-out for being kind, caring, and attentive! What a ray of sunshine! She was so excited when she arrived with my dessert (she made a brownie sundae just for me). It was everything you would want in a sweet treat. A perfectly warm brownie and cold vanilla ice cream topped with whipped cream just hits, and they do it right! 2. The. Meats. Were. GREAT. I got the sampler sliders and my boyfriend got the sampler platter. The slider buns were perfect and even toasted a bit which added major bonus points for me. The pulled pork was tender and flavorful. Brisket was peppery and perfect. Ribs were also veryyyy tenderrrrrr. You can tell the food is made with love. All I could do was smile as I ate my lunch, knowing I have an amazing bbq spot so close to me. 3. The corn nuggets were SO GOOD and SO comforting. Crispy, sweet, and perfect. I eyed the menu before going, and these caught my eye immediately. They did not disappoint. I can't wait to have them again! 4. The sauces were FIRE. The sweet and the crimson were perfect to us. 5. Who doesn't like 80s Rock and Roll?! Its one of those places that make you feel at home. The location is perfect, as well. Lakefront is a great place to dily dally while you digest the deliciousness. Had an early start to the day on 11/11 and decided to swing by and I must say, that was a good decision. LOL! The service is courteous, friendly and quick. Very neat and clean little place. The interiors are fashioned after old European cafes. Very charming! We had the Bacon and egg bagel sandwich, the Spanish avocado toast, a cafe con leche and a mocha latte. The husband said his bagel sandwich was good, not great and could be better if the egg was seasoned. He loved his coffee. My mocha latte was good, could be better if the ratio of the chocolate was increased just a smidgen. But I was absolutely blown away by the Spanish avocado toast! What a delicious combination of quality Spanish chorizo, guacamole, boiled egg slices and onions! It was hands down the best thing I've had for breakfast in years! Offered the husband a bite and he concurred. If not for anything else, we'd definitely return for just this one dish. LOL! Highly recommend trying the Spanish avocado toast at Buchito. There are plenty of places to take cute Instagram pictures. However, that does not help the overall score of the rest of the experience. When we first arrived, we were instructed to review the menu at a seat-yourself station and then return to the front to place our order. There were some interesting and tasty-looking options to pick from. Unfortunately, I was a bit perplexed by the pricing on the menu versus what came up on the cash register. I ordered the Mixed Berries Crepes with Nutella ($11), and I was going to order a Strawberry Boba for $5, but instead my total was nearing $25 dollars?? The pricing did not match the menu. The cash register didn't seem very friendly. When I noticed my crepe read "Banana/Strawberry" instead of Mixed Berry. I clarified I was getting the correct order. She told me, "Yes, yes." (Spoil alert: I did not get the mixed berries but instead a Strawberry and Banana Crepe...) I paid, and then took the little marker flag with a number they give you so the waitresses can find the correct table to deliver the orders to. My coworker and I waited in the back for our orders. Although we ordered back-to-back, the orders were fulfilled at different intervals. When my order finally arrived, the waitress was looking for the right table to deliver it to. I raised my hand and said it was my order. She looked at me with scrutiny as if I were lying to her. ( What was the point of the flag marker with the number then, if you're uncertain of the order???) My crepe was pretty, but overall, it was okay in flavor and taste. It wasn't very hot, though, and was lukewarm. I would give the crepe a 3 out of 5 stars. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't anything I'd come running back for. The staff wasn't the friendliest and seemed confused and disorganized. I would not come back here again. Read the prior low reviews, as most of the complaints others have had with this establishment seem to be a running occurrence.
