We went to FL for lunch yesterday for the first time and were pleasantly surprised. We were just gonna grab a few pastries and maybe some breakfast sandwiches but ended up getting their lunch co Bo's and a dozen of their sweets plus 2 specialty desserts. They have a great offer right now of 6 pastries for $8.99 which we thought was a great deal for a specialty bakery where 1 pastry could for $3-7 each! It's only the first 3 cases so you can get donuts or pastries but not the cakes. We got 2 glazed, 2 Nutella, 1 chocolate Bavarian, 1 pineapple, 1 guava queso, 1 apple guava queso and 4 apple. We also ended up getting the vanilla flan ($2) and a pineapple upside down cake ($5). For lunch we got a chicken soup, and 3 combos with ropa vieja, fried chicken, meatballs and a size of the ribs. All were delicious. They also come with beans which you can get in the rice or on the side and an additional side dish. For the extra side dish we got plantains and the potato salad. It was all good but the potato salad which was recommended by the waitress, was amazing. I'm still thinking out it today.... The combo plates were only $10! We will definitely be back! read more

Ladies working here are all very attentive and sweet. I wanted to love their cake since it was decorated beautifully but it certainly did not have the texture of what I requested. I specifically wanted a Puerto Rican cake but the cake did not fit the bill. Tasted a Puerto Rican pastel de guineo and sadly the outter part was bland yet the pork inside was way too salty. First time coming here with my husband since someone had recommended this location. Just so you know this is usually busy in the mornings we went on a Friday morning and there was a line it does move fast since they have a lot of cashiers up front still just be aware. The food wasn't bad I didn't really like the flan I purchased felt very mushy and cheesy since it was a cheese flan. We had a ham, cheese and egg sandwich, wasn't to bad either. Very nice bakery. I ordered an empanada and a frozen latte. The empanada was beef - it was good but a bit greasy. The frozen latte was very good. My friend ordered some delicious sweet bread. The staff are very friendly. The restaurant is very clean but it's very loud in there. Everyone yelling out orders and someone yelling names for orders and another announcing on a microphone. So not really a relaxing place to eat but it wasn't a bad experience at all. It's very popular with locals so you know it's good. Plantains and Rice & beans were 10/10. Beef was 8/10 because it was a little on the dry side despite there being lots of liquid it was in. It was a tad more tender the next day when I reheated the leftovers. Pork ribs were 8.4/10 because the top layer of the meat was hard. Like you can peel it. Sauce was a new but nice taste. This place was packed and rightfully so because the service is on point and the food is delicious. It is a nice clean and bright cafe with lots of seating. The seating is almost too packed because of all the tables so close together. There is ready prepared food and made to order sandwiches. I had heard about this place from co workers that they serve good breakfast here and the baked goods are good. Came on a Saturday - and it was busy and packed and loud! There's a few registers and that is where you order your choice of foods and pay at the same time. There are many staff that speak spanish and less english. So just be mindful of that. I have always been told that when you go to a place - order on what they are known for. This place is a bakery so if they serve hot food it might not be their specialty. The baked items looked delicious. The sandwiches are popular here because that is what I saw going out most of the time. They serve many spanish sandwiches like a cuban sandwich and medianoche. They also serve a particular spanish coffee here that I saw alot of diners drinking from. Pan Sobao I think is the famous sweet bread that is very delicious here. So as far as desserts; I have tried the following: Tembleque -- This is a coconut custard that to me is supposed to be like a jello form but their version is the texture of hair conditioner. It was delicious not too sweet but runny for me. I like it more firm like a soft jello like consistency. It was topped with cinnamon sprinkle on top. This was served in a small plastic cup with no lid. Cheese Flan - This was delicious. Thick dense consistency. Smooth creamy texture. Right amount of sweetness. The price of a whole flan is $18 and they charge about $2 and change per slice. I think its cheaper to get a whole flan if you will have use to eat it all. Budin - This is bread pudding with raisins in it. This is delicious as well. Its not dry. Moist densed consistency, Has raisins throughout. I would order this again. Its not that sweet either. Quesitos - I got the guava cheese and it was delicious. The cream cheese is formed into blocks not smeared. Along with guava paste. Flaky pastry. Donuts - The donuts are tender soft but some parts like the ends was kind of hard so I am not sure if this was a fresh batch. Delicious donuts though, Cuban Sandwich - I ordered this with Pan Sobao bread instead of Cuban bread. So doing this made the bread kinda soggy from the pernil in the sandwich. This sandwich was delicious. The meats especially the pernil was tender soft and seasoned well. Like I said the bread did get soggy but still a delicious sandwich. It had mustard pickles pernil and ham with gooey cheese in between. The staff here have limited to no speaking english so just be mindful. The donuts section you get 6 pcs for $8 special. This is a decent place for Puerto Rican breakfast and baked goods. This is my go to if I am craving a cheap spanish breakfast with good bread! They offer hot items with the price of $8 ish not including drink. I will def take people here who are visiting to try out their food! read more

Service is good, staff is generally nice. Wow, I wanted to order everything. All of the pastries looked incredible, but I was really wanting something savory so I went with the ham, egg and cheese sandwich. Whoa. The bread. It was so soft yet had the perfect crunch. This sandwich was everything I needed. I added a hashbrown, but although I felt it could be a little crispier, I still liked it. Florida Bakery is really good, it's not like "Mama use to make" but close They have a variety of dishes, and a bakery where you can order desert. The service is also great, the ladies behind the counter spare no expense when they're serving you. This is not a fancy chamcy restaurant, but it's worth the trip. And I am so glad that the Florida bakery has opened in Kissimmee because are a great representation of some of the great food offerings we have. Being my first visit and I was just popping in to grab a little lunch to go, the Jamon y queso sandwich quickly caught my eye so I ordered one for me and one for my mom. Despite a slight language barrier, the sweet cashier and I managed to communicate without to much confusion and pretty soon I was waiting with pager in hand for my order. As I did I decided to take a gander at the bakery case which was filled with delicious cakes and pastries. They had a great special going on but as I am trying to be a little bit better with watching what I eat, I opted to try 2 of the delicacies knowing full wellness won't be my only time ever stopping in. Since I know my mom loves chocolate, I picked out the Estrelllita de Nutella for her and the Brazo Gitano for me since my love for anything guava is an understatement. My items were quickly boxed up and my buzzer was letting me know my sandwiches were hot and ready to pickup and head home to enjoy. When I finally was able to dig into my sandwich I was greeted by that familiar freshly baked Puerto Rican bread stuffed with ham and cheese and a little mayo, pressed thin and crispy. The flavor was spot on and since the sandwich is a decent size in my opinion, I have a second half to enjoy later. Mom also really enjoyed her sandwich, but nothing leftover for later. The Florida Bakery can easily scream five stars to those that speak Spanish, however falls sadly short of the fifth star for all other English speaking Americans. One could not fault the employees but the owner for their lack of hiring staff that are bilingual. This is not a third world country but the United States where English is the predominant language and should be at minimum spoken by the primary person who first greets your guests. As for the food everything looked great but the hassle of trying to enquirer about anything due to the language barrier would prevent one from returning. I ordered the pastrami sandwich in lieu of getting something off the cafeteria style line and to my surprise it was by far the best I have had since New York. I love Ms this bakery, it definitely reminds me of the bakeries we visit while in Puerto Rico. We stopped in to pick up some baked goods and I am really glad we did so. Delicious authentic Puerto Rican food! They have a bakery section and a deli section. Plenty of seating indoor and clean restrooms. Bakery and deli items were fantastic, especially the crab salad. I would give it more stars but unfortunately the ladies at the counter were not the friendliest people. They seemed frustrated with my boyfriend and I since we couldn't speak Spanish very well. We ordered a sandwhich which was called media noche, they stated they did not have it, so they suggested the Cubano, which was fine. She had to pull aside a customer to translate for us because she couldn't communicate with my boyfriend and I. They had a nice selection if pastries. We tried the pastry below which was ok, not exciting. The Cubanos were however definitely worth the trip. I would give it more stars if it weren't for the unsatisfactory customer service and them not having anyone who works behind the counter speak any English. read more
