Thanks to Yelp! I was able to find a restaurant to fulfill my craving for some delicious ribs in the area! I was about 25 minutes away, when I took my family here, and they were wondering where we were going, but let me tell you, they were not disappointed by the food, service and the surround area. When we arrived, it seemed like a downtown area that was kind of chill because it was a Tuesday early evening. Barely any traffic around and tons of open parking, especially right in front to the restaurant. From the front I noticed some funny signs, a patio that was wide open for seating, yard games and a nice cozy dive bar vibe. When we went inside, we were immediately greeted at the counter by our server. It was not busy, there was actually only one customer sitting at the bar. The bar has about 6 seats and has TVs to watch and the restaurant if filled with tons of cool Classic Rock pictures, memorabilia and quotes. It was just the vibe we needed to just hang as a family. The server allowed us to pick any table we wanted. We ordered margaritas. They were delicious. We also has the RIBS, okra, mac & cheese, potato salad, some greens, cornbread, brisket, grilled cheese sandwich and fries. EVERYTHING, including the SERVICE was on point; we left well fed, satisfied and happy we found this place to eat tonight. To walk off the food , there is a park right across the street. At the park you will find food trucks for dessert, like ice cream on a hot day. There's also a walking trail and a play ground for the kiddos. There was an area where people were fishing off the doc. I saw an area where people also get married and a facility for our veterans. I included some pictures of what I saw along my way after I left the restaurant for people looking for things to do in the area with a family and/or friends. If you're ever in the area, I highly recommend you stop by this restaurant for some good eats, drinks and just a place to relax and have a good time. I seriously can't wait to be back at Big John's! Let me tell you 5 reasons why we WILL be back: 1. Our waitress was absolutely the sweetest. Lindsay gets a special shout-out for being kind, caring, and attentive! What a ray of sunshine! She was so excited when she arrived with my dessert (she made a brownie sundae just for me). It was everything you would want in a sweet treat. A perfectly warm brownie and cold vanilla ice cream topped with whipped cream just hits, and they do it right! 2. The. Meats. Were. GREAT. I got the sampler sliders and my boyfriend got the sampler platter. The slider buns were perfect and even toasted a bit which added major bonus points for me. The pulled pork was tender and flavorful. Brisket was peppery and perfect. Ribs were also veryyyy tenderrrrrr. You can tell the food is made with love. All I could do was smile as I ate my lunch, knowing I have an amazing bbq spot so close to me. 3. The corn nuggets were SO GOOD and SO comforting. Crispy, sweet, and perfect. I eyed the menu before going, and these caught my eye immediately. They did not disappoint. I can't wait to have them again! 4. The sauces were FIRE. The sweet and the crimson were perfect to us. 5. A friend picked Big John's Rockin BBQ for us to try before a shift at Give Kids the World Village. It was the first time for both of us, but I think we will be back. I got the pick two and she got the sampler. The brisket was fork,- tender, and the ribs were fall off the bone. The cornbread muffin was fairly dense but tasty. The restaurant theme was great and we had the choice of sitting inside or outside on the patio. We decided to sit inside. If you're looking for parking, there is a parking lot on Monument Avenue by the railroad track. There was other parking that was on the other side of the restaurant that was full. The food here is SO good! You can tell it's hand-crafted, all the meat is pulled-to-order and it definitely shows! Sides were so good, the collards were exceptional. The service here is top notch. Lindsay was my server and took extra good care of me, and my pup! Jordan and Bri are great as well, they really care about their guests. Had a really great experience at Big John's Rockin BBQ in downtown Kissimmee. I ordered the Buffalo chicken /three-meat taco with a side of fries, and the tacos were honestly the star of the night. The flavor had the perfect balance of sweet and savory, and every bite was packed with taste. When I walked in, no one greeted me right away, which made for an awkward start. I stood around for a bit before a waitress came over, apologized for the wait, and I asked to sit outside. I had noticed the patio when I walked up, and it looked like a nice spot--especially with the beautiful weather--so I was glad to sit out there. The vibe was casual and laid-back. It wasn't loud or busy, which made for a comfortable atmosphere. Once I got the menu and placed my order, service picked up. My waitress was friendly and helpful. When my food came out, I was happy with the way it looked--and even happier with the taste. It was good barbecue that matched the relaxed feel of the place. All in all, it was a good experience. My wife, kids and the in laws were visiting and spending the week at Disney. We were tired of the traditional campus food and decided to venture off and eat somewhere local. We decided BBQ was what we were after, my in laws live in Kansas City and are from Georgia, so they know BBQ! I will say everything we got was hot and fresh and well smoked. Went there on a Monday the 29th of Dec, late afternoon. Food was delicious. So good we went back a few days later at night, we ordered the same food and it tasted nothing like before. I guess different cook. Had that been our first experience we would not have gone back. Smash burger the first time was seasoned well, tasted so good I didn't bother with catsup or mustard. When we went back it had no flavor, was dry and the sweet potato fries were burn. The food came out without bbq sauce, but the table had several options on it. The Chicken was a little dry on its own and didn't had any flavor. Bbq Beans - smoky and sweet loved the beans Okay those were my favorites but by no mean did anything here disappoint. Brisket - lean maybe a little leaner than I like but I didn't ask for fatty so the kitchen did a nice job, I mixed a little of the hot and sweet sauce for dipping. We came as a group of about 40 with a conference at around 1p on a Tuesday - the servers came around and took our drink orders and we were able to take in the decor of the place. There are guitars and music posters all over as well as a small bar area , patio seating , and tables scattered through our. It's not a huge place, so you can see why it would get busy on the weekends. The buffet style food we had was very yummy.
