This is a wonderful place to visit. They do have all the typical Mexican fanfare, as well as some deeper rooted authentic Mexican dishes. Now I'm not saying they have menudo or anything like that (we ARE in Wisconsin, after all), but it's delicious, fast to the table, and the gals there love what they do. I live only a few minutes away from this place, and even though it it close to another Mexican place, I will always choose Al Azteca over Los Banditos. I go in every visit and get a loving 'hello again my friends, how are you today?' There are some newer girls there that aren't as apt to check on tables as often, but that is certainly not the norm. Many times (since I live so close), I order to go and just eat at home and save my leftovers for later. The portions are massive for so low a price, and they always keep me coming back for more. I've had my Latina friends even tell me this is a great place, so it's really a must try for the next time you're craving something delicious. :-) read more

The first time I went there I was by myself and ordered the Chicken Flautas. They were good and there were 4 of them so with the chips and salsa (as well as a bean dip) it filled me up. Then I went there with my girlfriend and I ordered a Hard Shell Taco dinner and she got some kind of Chicken Quesedilla (not good). My girlfriend likes sour cream so she ordered extra sour cream ( which came in a small container ) The tacos were a ground beef taco (not shredded beef) with the ready made taco shells. Very mediocre at best. When I was ready to pay the bill I noticed they charged me $1.89 for the extra sour cream. I was blown away. I thought maybe .50 cents, but a buck eighty nine, come on. I complained at the front desk but they just blew me off. Had they been a nicer at the register I probably would go back and try some other menu items (just not the hard shell tacos) but not now. I will not be back and since I just moved here I will be trying other Mexican Restaurants. read more

We have had many, many dinners and lunches at El Azteca. They food has always been good and the service ok. Today I had the ground beef burrito lunch special. It was so floating in grease I could not eat it. I sent it back and explained it was too greasy. The waitress suggested I order chicken instead so I did and they charged me for both meals! It was the same rice and beans as on the ground beef burrito so all they did was slide it off the plate and put a chicken burrito on. That is just so bad we can never go back there again. So I paid a regular price for a chicken burrito alone and a ground beef burrito with rice and beans. read more

My Husband and I visited on Friday evening and were very disappointed with the food and service. The food was marginal at best. We had heard so many good reviews that we were surprised by what we got. In addition the waitress gave the impression she was put out having to wait on us. We hadn't eaten here for five years but used to love it, tonight was very disappointing. The food came quickly but the service was very bad. After bringing the food she never checked on us we had empty chips empty salsa empty water we ran out of tortilla shells and we had empty margaritas we had to get up and go and ask for these things. There were only three other tables in the restaurant and at least five staff ignoring us. What was the most disappointing was the food. There was a lack of seasoning and flavor throughout. The supposed 'steak' in the tacos and burritos looked like boiled ground beef. The ground beef crispy taco was on a store bought shell with almost no cheese. The soft taco shells completely fell apart and could not be picked up to eat. read more

Amazing! I'm from a state with a lot of really good Mexican restaurants, and this place met every standard I have for Mexican food. If we're ever in Green Bay again I will definitely want to stop here! read more

Authentic mexican food at it's best. We love this place. Excellent margaritas and sangria, wonderful food, and prompt service. I don't think I have ever waited more than 10 minutes for my meal there. There are plenty of people working in the kitchen to get your food out promptly. They have the best Mexican food around. read more

I usually love little places like this, so I'm not sure what happened in this case. We were greeted right away and sat. No specials were presented to us, so we just figured they didn't have any.. No big deal. The drinks and salsa were decent. We ordered our food, I ordered the chicken enchilada dinner. I wasn't asked any questions about it.. Sauce preference.. Anything.. Okay. I went with it. The person I was with ordered the fajitas. Food came out In a some what timely manner. It looked decent. The fajitas were placed in front of us still sizzling, which is normally a good thing: but they were smoking and splashing all over.. Which didn't feel too great on the eyes And skin!! I've had a lot of Mexican food.. This is by far one of the worst I have ever tasted. It was the blandest chicken enchilada ever... Simply disgusting. There was no spice.. Salt or any type of seasoning. The "red" sauce reminded me of a watered down spaghetti sauce. The rice tasted like it was a box mix with no flavor. Our waitress passed our table plenty of times and never once asked how we were or how things tasted, maybe she knew better. Drinks were never even refilled. If your looking for Mexican food. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!. Stop at the local Taco Bell.. You'll be more satisfied, I promise. read more

I went here for the first time based on a recommendation from a close friend that ate here when he was visiting from California in May 2014. I was completely ignored when I walked in and had to wait for 10 minutes to actually be approached to be seated. the chips were stale and the salsa looked like it was recycled too many times. My waitress was very rude when I asked her for a different water glass since the one I got was dirty. I ordered their house specialty which is the "molcajete" and it was decent tasting the rice and beans on the other hand were bland and tasted like cardboard. I was ignored by my waitress the whole time and they took a long time to get my food. Once I asked for the check the waitress actually threw it on the table and walked away looking mad. Later that day I actually started feeling sick and started vomiting only to find out I had food poisoning. I would never go back to this restaurant in my whole life or recommend anyone to go there unless they want to get sick by food that is not fresh or it is recycled.
