Was in Green Bay and looking for some tasty Mexican food. Taqueria Michoacan was not too far from Lambeau Field. Taqueria Michoacan is a small restaurant that's has a bar, great music and great food. We stopped by on a Tuesday and just made the happy hour specials. We got some margaritas and ordered specials of the day. Taqueria Michoacan is a popular spot and was filling up quickly with regulars and visitors like ourselves. The menu has all the traditional items you expect to see and some unique dishes to try. I'm a fan of spicy and went with a carne asada plate with grilled jalepenos and was very good. Our other dish was a huaraches a longer version of a fresh tortilla with beans, meat and other toppings. Dish was awesome!! Service was great and food was reasonably priced. Restaurant was clean and tables were serviced quickly. Great visit and recommend anyone looking for authentic cuisine, give them a try. read more

This is not Mexican food. Totally disappointed. Better off going to Taco Bell. Waited close to 4 minutes without any acknowledgment, no one around. Should have just walked out like my gut told me to. To start with the music was loud and annoying especially at 10 am. I love my Mexican music but not so damn loud that early. Ordered the huevos rancheros without rice. Never heard of rice with huevos rancheros so I asked for Mexican potatoes instead. She had no idea what I was talking about and wanted to give me French frys WTH. So I gave up on her and trying to explain what I meant . A damn Mexican restaurant and she didn't know what I meant. Just ordered a barbacoa taco and the eggs with beans. I get a taco on a corn tortilla with what looks like a table spoon of some shredded meat. That was not barbacoa at all!!! I tell that woman if I can get the taco on flour. She says well you should have ordered it on flour. I told that I didn't know that it came on corn tortillas. And she just stayed looking at me . I told her just to take it back, that I didn't want it. She took it back and I could hear her whining to the kitchen people. My buddy was hungry and ate his. I got my plate and it was watery beans and runny eggs. Yuk Went up to pay and it was like $30!!!!! Like wtf i asked her what she was charging and she was hesitant to tell me and said that it would be on the receipt. I walk out the door and noticed that she charged me for that taco was sent back. I go back and tell her about it. She's like "well you ordered it" . I told her yeah I did but I didn't like it and it wasn't what I wanted. How are you going to charge me for something I didn't want and sent back. She kept arguing with me until she said I'll see what the boss says. So the boss was the cook. She came from out the kitchen and didn't even acknowledge me went straight to the register and pulled out my money. The waitress gave me my money. All crappy attitude because her boss didn't back her up. Like what the hell. I've run many restaurants and common sense, you take care of the customers, you don't steal from them and charge for something they don't want. read more

Wow! There's a reason why they are the top rated mexican food in Greenbay. Clean interior. Warm greeting. I was here during the lunch hour on a Monday. Not crowded and seated immediately. Chips and salsa were homemade and given as I was seated. I was surprised with a small bowl of what I would consider a mexican style chili/soup that was free (not on the menu). Delicious. Ordered 1beef/asada tostada and 2 pork/pastor tacos mexican style. Also asked for rice and beans. Mexican bottle of Coke. Authentic and awesome. Can't say enough about this little slice of Mexico here in Greenbay! Definitely coming back. Worth the trip even if it's out of the way!! Great service and very reasonable price. read more

I was given 4 tacos instead of the 7 I ordered for takeout. They were good but I still didn't appreciate receiving the wrong order. The restaurant was pretty loud and ordering took a while as the lady taking my order couldn't hear me and I couldn't hear her either. If the order was correct it would've better. read more

Very expensive. Went there during the pandemic, they charged me extra 2 dollars for a burrito, extra 2-4 dollars for a torta, and 3 dollars for a bag of potato chip. Shrimp torta had only a few shrimps in the filling and I was still hungry after I ate it. Burrito taste okay, at least my husband was full after he ate it. Potato chip was totally inedible. It was old, stale, and oily. I ended up threw the whole bag away, and felt that I should had bought a bag of chip from gas station. Such a waste of money. I'm fine with raising the price during pandemic because some food ingredients are more expensive and I work in a food processing plant so I totally get it. However, raising the food price without telling the customer is a scam. Food quality was not worth the money either. read more

Very authentic Mexican restaurant located in a small strip mall. They offer a large variety of traditional dishes so I would recommend getting something besides tacos. Don't get me wrong they are fantastic but I prefer the sopes or huaraches because they are handmade just like their homemade tortillas. The chicken is "tinga" style which is shredded and the pastor extremely flavorful. Only downfall on this entire restaurant for me is that their Horchata tastes like it is made from the prepackaged drink mix and not from scratch. Important for me but maybe not others. read more

In town for a game and found this place on Yelp. Taqueria Michoacan did not disappoint. Not Texmex or Mexican Fusion, traditional Mexican food made right with large portions. The margaritas where outstanding as well ! Service was outstanding also, prices on par with the quality of the dishes and the serving sizes. Only suggestion would be the house music was a bit too loud. Little less volume would be perfect. Next time in town we will be back for sure ! read more

I can not believe that I have missed, what is probably the best Mexican food in town, for as long as I have. My wife and finally decided to stop in for lunch one weekend after we got a recommendation from a local chef that we trust that this is a must go-to place, and they were not wrong! The menu is authentic, the food is wonder and the staff are friendly and quick. We both had variations of their massive, massive burritos - carnitas and chicken. I also had one of their steak tacos (Mexican style). Literally, everything was delicious! The burritos are filled with a great quantity of meat, rice, refried beans, lettuce, cheese and sour cream all wrapped in a very tasty flour tortilla. The carnitas were tender, flavorful and (thankfully) not dried out at all like a lot of places. The same held true for the chicken - moist and lots of flavor. The steak in my taco was equally as good, but could have used a little char to the meat. Overall, it was a great experience and one that we will be repeating frequently. read more

They have a large menu which I'm usually a bit skeptical of, but we've been here several times and never had anything that wasn't homemade and delicious. We have run into hiccups once or twice with getting rung up for the wrong amount, so I recommend double-checking your receipt. Our favorites are the menudo (try it with raw onions and lime), the beef soup, and the huge burritos. read more

Their well seasoned meat is packed with flavor and goes famously over one of their handmade huarache tortillas. While it is inexpensive with large portions of great food, the atmosphere is frequently glaringly loud and the drinks I've had here have been subpar. read more

A couple of my friends were hankering for good authentic tacos. I knew of this place because of Yelp reviews and it's been on my bucket list. It's not easy to see from the street as it's part of a small strip small and shadowed by a Cigarette and Tobacco outlet on Mason Street. That definitely makes it a hidden gem! The inside is brightly colored with upbeat Hispanic music, which creates a positive atmosphere. Again, currently craving tacos, so I honestly don't remember what else they have. You can get your tacos Mexican (onions and cilantro) or American (lettuce, tomato, and sour cream) style. I went with a carnitas and a barbacoa taco. Both were very yummy and hit the spot. The meat was juicy and tender. The barbacoa had a perfect sweet, BBQ-like taste to it What also hit the spot was the big margarita that I had. Sweet and boozy...YUM! I had one time and it was bad experience. Craving tacos for my kids and orders to give another chance. They say yes yes yes and I ordered 3 taco meals. They gave me one taco meal and no beans and then don't answer the call when you try to explain. I met some friends here on a last minute whim. I had already eaten dinner so hadn't planned on getting much more than a beer and chips and salsa. This place is tucked away in a little strip mall off East Mason. Very casual and very small. They had Mexican music playing and the decor was a little bit of everything. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. I ended up ordering a chicken taco because it smelled so good in there I could not resist. Had to try. We had complimentary chips and salsa at the table and then she brought us each a complimentary cup of soup. It was all so, so good. I enjoyed a Corona with it all. The food came INCREDIBLY fast. This is a good "hole in the wall" restaurant. I like to order a hurrache barbacoa with green sauce. My wife ordered the tacos, mexican style is the default. Service is usually speedy and the drinks are cold. They make their own tortillas which is a plus. Honestly, I can't say I've had a bad meal here yet. Why not 5 stars? My husband and I just had dinner at this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary and it was a let down. The staff was rude, the food was bland and 2 tablespoons of guacamole cost $5.00. The only good thing about this place is the salsa on the table. It is a little light on the cilantro but it has an overall nice flavor. The green sauce that they give you has too much cilantro and the red sauce is just hot. NO flavor! My husband had the pork quesadillas and I had the huevos con chorizo. The quesadillas were greasy and lacking any spice. That is the best part of the meal. What I had was really bad! The eggs were over cooked, the chorizo was greasy and had no spice at all and the beans were flavorless. It gets better. The female server that we had was rude. She came to the table and took our drink order just fine. She was friendly up until we ordered our food. She gave us nasty looks when we asked questions about items on the menu and NEVER came back to the table. Another server brought out our food. No one checked on us. When we decided that we were ready to leave and wanted the check, we tried to wave down a serve several times. This resulted in being ignored. We noticed that everyone that came into the restaurant after us had left. That is when I got up and went to the window to pay without the check. Our server was at the payment window. I was ignored for a couple of minutes before she finally acknowledged me. Then, someone walked in and she walked away from me. She walked out of the building! The server came back after less than 2 minutes and told me that she would get the check. After a few minutes, she returned. She asked me if everything was, "Ok". I told her, 'No.' Her response was to laugh. Rather than cause a scene, I just paid the bill and left. We will not be returning as we have never felt more unwelcome in a restaurant in our lives. We decided to check out this restaurant after hearing a few comments about how good it is. It's not a place I was aware of, even though I drive Mason Street everyday. It's hidden in a strip mall that isn't easily seen from the street unless you are looking for it. We got there for an early dinner so it wasn't very busy. It's authentic Mexican decor. It was cozy warm inside. We noticed larger tables that seat 6 or more, only two tables of two and they weren't big. We chose a table for two. Good thing the table next to us was empty for our coats. We received complimentary chips and salsa, however we had to remove the chip basket as the table wasn't large enough for that and our dinner plates. The quesadilla was only meat,nothing else inside which I've heard they don't use as much cheese as we do, my boyfriend had 2 wedges as it was really full of meat. I got the chicken burrito and it was full of rice, lettuce, etc and was huge. I was only able to eat half. I gave it 3 stars only because the service wasn't great. We had to go to the bar 3 times to ask for things as she never came to check on us. I think she was more of the bartender than the waitress. Luckily it wasn't busy. We are definitely going back for the food, not the service. Prices were much cheaper than most Mexican restaurants oh and a big thing for me is the kitchen looked very clean! read more

Food was great! One of the best tacos al pastor I have had! Beans on the side are usually an afterthought, but they were delicious here. I also liked that they have more traditional items, like lengua, Chile relleno and menudo. It's a step above from the standard Mexican food catered to the American palate.
