Came here for lunch on a Monday and we ordered the bandeja paisa which is the star of the menu. Meat was tender and the flavor was ok but the chicharron was perfectly crispy. The beans were really good and were the best of the side orders. You can also add chorizo or morcilla (blood sausage) for an additional $2 which is worth it if you want the traditional full experience. There was no host at the front when we arrived so we seated ourselves. After a few minutes, a waitress came over, took our order and kept things moving. Service wasn't overly warm but it was efficient and consistent. This is a casual straightfoward colombian spot nothing fancy. read more

This is the second time dining here as I've been dreaming of the breakfast I had about six months ago. The place is clean and comfortable and the staff is very friendly. I had a very tasty Americano coffee and the heavenly Huevos Campesinos! It's 3 fried eggs placed at the bottom of a bowl topped with tomatoes, scallions, bacon bits, and mushrooms. A light broth is poured over the veggies. An arepa, topped with cheese, is served on the side. Can't stress how good this dish is. A must have for breakfast. Dulce V was our server both times I've dined here and she is very attentive and friendly. She is learning English and takes the time to communicate in English so she can grasp the language. That's very admirable in my book. If you are in the area and like Colombian food, give this place a try. read more

The Pan de Bono was moist - basically Columbian cheese bread balls made from cheese, eggs, and flour with spices. These are normally in shop offered at 5/$3.50 and they offer three different sizes. Catering sizes are 50/$100. The empanadas are the same pricing. Will bring the catering menu home to the wife for a final verdict. My husband and I have been coming here for quite some time. We thoroughly enjoy the Pechuga con Champinones. We consistently order it and it's delicious every time. We have never dined in, but iwhen we pick up our order it's generally a nice Latin vibe. Just recently we needed a large order of empanadas for our daughter's Colombian event at school. We ordered 50 of the beef empanadas a week in advance and the service was great. They were crispy, flavorful and just delicious! My daughter came home saying how they ate all of them and loved them. The food was ready for us to pick up on time and the host was very pleasant. Next time we might eat in the restaurant since it is cute and cozy. The food was good, I ordered the pork chicken fried (that is not the name though), which was large enough for 2 meals, and included rice, red bean soup and a side salad. The prices have been hiked significantly, and the quality has gone down tremendously. My soup with rice and salad cost $20 The bandeja cost over $20 with the thinnest steak I've seen in my life. Literally paper thin, and the food was served very cold. I let the waitress know that I was disappointed about the cold paper thin steak and that the prices went up but the quality has gone down. She went to the kitchen and replaced the steak with a warmer very thin version. She was kind and I understand she has little control over this so I tipped her on her service and not my opinion on the food. I'm extremely disappointed. Management, when you hike prices, it's important that you keep or improve the quality of your food. You're showing your clients you really don't care about them - and by the looks of it (an empty restaurant on a Saturday night), people have gotten the hint! Also I ordered the chicken nuggets for my son and got two chicken cutlets - even a five year old knows that's not the same thing. read more

OMG, I can't even! I need to shout it to the heavens! Help me, dear lord, I am absolutely stuffed, hahaha! The food at that place was out of this world, seriously! And the service? Well, it was okay, I guess. The poor guy seemed like he had way too many tables to handle. But hey, no complaints here because the portion sizes were massive! He could have left me alone for hours and I'd still be happily munching away, lol. Let me tell you, the atmosphere of that place was so charming and authentic, just like being in Colombia. I absolutely loved it! We tried this dish called maduro with cheese, and oh my goodness, it was amazing! And guess what? My wifey ordered the 3 amigos fajitas, and let me tell you, it was a feast! After the shock wore off, I enjoyed my meal (shock because I never thought I would eat Colombian and stupid me, I categorized Columbian with Mexican food duh)! I had the Patacon con Gucamole Y Hogao AND Bandeja Paisa AND Torta De Pandebono, and I feel I got a good mixture of Colombia. Yep, I said it, Colombia in Plantation! The food was fresh and the staff were fantastic! Shout out to Dolce and Jennifer for making the recommendation! We were ignorant and wanted the full taste so both ladies talked us through our meal and wahlah, we tasted a bit of heaven! The restaurant was hopping! I really wanted to like this place. But overall it was very very average. Some items perhaps below average. While service was ok and the place seems nice from the inside. The main attraction, the food, lacked inspiration and flavor. It wasn't terrible it just wasn't good enough for me to crave again. I love ajiaco and this place has a decent one, it was probably my favorite part of the meal. Good flavor, had all the fixings. Not bad. The pan con bistec sándwich was very underwhelming. It was both visually and flavor-wise, a disappointment. First, the bread resembles a hot dog bun that has been smashed flat. Not crispy, semi soggy, and just not a good choice. The meat is a small portion and it's sliced up in pieces so as you try and eat it, it's hard to keep it on the very narrow bread. The meat itself seems low quality, not seasoned, and dry. The veggies on it are also sliced into pieces so they don't stay on the sandwich. The potato sticks also, very small amount, and just seemed cheap. For $12 I wish I would've just gotten a cheesesteak at the mall. I washed it down with a jugo de maracuyá and this was also very average. Not bad, not great. Overall the lunch was worth about $8, but it was $18. So I'm not very satisfied. I don't think I'll be coming back but maybe I will give this place another shot somewhere down the road. I work nearby so it would've been nice to find a good spot to eat Colombian. This is not it. Btw my gf is colombiana and I've been to Colombia, so I say this with a bit of experience. read more

Went on a weekday where they have lunch specials however, it is limited to only one two course meal. We began with the mini empanadas, which were very good and for our main course got the Ajiaco as well as the Mondongo. Place is usually packed and jumping with locals. Service at the counter is efficient and friendly. Food is always fabulous. Prices are fare. Decent sized dining area that gets loud at times. We were very happy with our choice when we walked into this charming nicely decorated restaurant. We were seated immediately and served our coffee and empanadas, while we looked over the rest of the menu . I chose the Calentado El Balcon for breakfast that included very thin, perfectly grilled steak with onions that had a great flavor. Breakfast beef often and taste lousy, but this was the opposite here. I liked the arepa with cheese. It was very thin and toasty with tiny balls of cheese just beginning to melt as it was served. The beans mixed with rice had a much better flavor than the usual bland rice, and beans dumped from a can with no seasoning. My wife had a small Sancocho, with little beef in it, but a nice brothy flavor. The coffee was good, not bitter. Aura, our server was the best! For drinks I got the passionfruit smoothie with milk. If you never tried it, it's a must ! I tried the maduros con crema which is plantains with cream and white cheese. It's a great combo of sweet and salty. It goes well together ! If you're a meat eater to me the best plate is the "bandeja paisa". It's a combination of rice, beans, ground beef or too ground steak, plantain , fried pork belly , arepa, avocado and fried egg. I went with the "milanesa de pollo" which is breaded chicken breast accompanied by rice and beans, fried and salad. Any plate you go with will be full of rich flavor.
