Fine tapas place for a quick lunch; bigger than other tapas bars so seats are more comfortably spaced apart and nice bathrooms. The Spanish omelette and pork cheek were tasty, but nothing standout. We found the tuna and jamon too salty. Dined: September 9, 2022

This was was perfecto!! Came here on a recommendation from a local, and wow did they not disappoint. We had the artichoke which was good, but just slightly too salty for my pallet. We also had the Burrata, tomato and basil which was very good. The break out start though was actually accidental- they put to wrong order down, and am I glad they did haha it was delicious!! It was hurvos, Liberian ham, and beans so good. Could eat everyday! The waitress was super sweet, even though there was a language barrier for me. We managed, and she really added to our overall experience. We really enjoyed this place, and highly recommend if you want a more local feel.

This place was awesome. We came for lunch and it was crowded but they were able to sit us quickly. They are known for their cola de toro and it was spectacular. The meat was falling off the bone and the brown sauce was so rich and decadent.

I expected more, disappointing. I wanted to try oxtail from Seville so we decided to go to this bar. It got such great reviews on TripAdvisor so I was so excited, because so far- I haven't been let down by any restaurant in Seville... that is, until I went here. = WHAT WE GOT = + Tortilla: this was just decent, I've had better at my schools cafeteria! I would not purchase it again. + Ox tail: my regret was getting two of these. I found it extremely chewy, and also so hard to eat. + spinach with chickpeas: OK, Did the chef mess up on this dish? It has NO FLAVOR. It was as if he boiled the spinach and forgot to season it. + lastly, Goat cheese with jam: this was the best part of our dinner I would give it 5 stars, but even it wasn't enough to save the rest of the dishes. Save your money and go somewhere else, like La Brunilda :)

My girlfriends and I are in Seville for our 50th birthdays and were walking the streets. We came across El Baratillo. We shared the burrata salad, bacon wrapped shrimp, grilled octopus & artichokes, Spanish style pork cheeks with sauce, and Mascarpone with berries to end. AMAZING. The flavors were truly outstanding and the service was top notch. We will be back before we leave.

After reading the other reviews for El Baratillo we have the feeling that perhaps our experience was a "one off" as we were severely disappointed. We ordered three four tapas and did not finish any of them. The service was good but the food was sub par. We thought about giving them another opportunity (we were in Sevilla for four days) but we found such better food elsewhere we never bothered to return.

Has a great dinner of grilled octopus and cola de toro. Cool atmosphere with bulls adorning the walls (since they are located close to the bull ring this makes complete sense). They have a vibrant bar scene and prices are reasonable.

The paella for two! P.S. There's enough for four if you start with a tapa or two!

Looking for a high value and high quality restaurant for a casual afternoon lunch or early dinner? They. Stay open every day of the year as well as during August siesta time. We recommend the paella, even with the 30 minute wait. Order a few tapas to share while you wait. The gazpacho by the glass is excellent! Be patient with the great service staff!

Knowing we were going to eat a lot during a food tour, we settled on some small tapas (ham, cheese, bread, and olives) and got some sangria and a beer. We sat at the bar and I was able to practice my Spanish with the bartender. The ham was a generous portion and I loved watching them cut it behind the bar! Very fun and old establishment-y vibes. Wish we could've tried more on the menu if we didn't have other plans!

I came here due to a yelp recommendation because like most westerners unaccustomed to the Spanish way of living I was hungry at about 7 pm and needed something to eat. Yay yelp to the rescue. The place was crowded and there were no seats available when I arrived. There were many small groups congregated around tables and a few couples as well. It isn't obvious how to proceed once you come in the door so I probably stood there awkwardly for a few minutes near the door before making my way to the bar to what looked to be a vacant seat. A gentleman informed me that it belonged to his girlfriend so I was forced to now stand awkwardly next to the bar. Bar tender to the rescue explaining that if I waited he was pretty sure someone would leave soon and I could order a drink while I waited. I ordered a sangria and also inquired about food but was told that I need to have an actual seat in order to order food. After nursing my drink for about 20 mins when I was about to pay and head out to find somewhere else to eat, a spot finally opened up and I was treated to the most delicious steak and potatoes and zucchini tapas. This had to be one of the most delicious things I have eaten on this vacation. When I finally vacated my seat to save a pair of new arrivals, there was a line outside of people waiting for the opportunity to eat here. I might chance it again before I leave Seville. I highly recommend for the food and friendly waiters but wish there was a way to turn seats over more quickly. One guy kept insisting he was saving his girlfriend's seat but in the 90 mins I spent there she never showed up. Who knows if she ever existed. Bread comes free with your tapas order and really complimented the meal.

We ordered their roasted lamb with cous cous, garlic shrimp croquetta (that was the croquetta of the day), pork cheek stew with potato purée and the chocolate panna cotta for dessert. We also ordered their sangria and tinto de verano. Every dish we ordered was AMAZING - tasty flavorful well seasoned melt in your mouth meat bursting with flavors. We devoured every bite and it was hard to pick a favorite. Both the lamb and pork dishes were 11/10. Not just the taste but the presentation of every tapa was fantastic. Their drinks were also great. The dessert was to die for. This place is super packed during peak dinner hours and there is barely any room to stand. Since we walked in around 11pm, we got a seat and were well taken care of all thru the night. Also noticed alot of veggie options on the menu which was great. Service was awesome ambience is chic. I am certain I am going to crave their tapas once I am back home. Highly highly recommend this place when in Seville.

Where do I begin? Let's talk about the ambience. To call this place rustic would probably capture…read moreit best, it's really probably more like a cafeteria or a school room at a very old school. Tables perhaps a bit close together, not terribly comfortable. Loud, busy. As far as the service, it was our impression that our waiter was the only person serving the 30 or so tables in their dining room. Suffice it to say the service was not fast and not good. Inexplicably, every time we ordered a Coke we were asked if we wanted a Coke Zero. If I wanted a Coke Zero I would have said the words Coke Zero. Even when I asked for another Coke, he again asked "Coke Zero?" It took next to forever to get the check, and forever to get a cappuccino. At one point I took it upon myself to point the waiter to a table behind us that had been desperately attempting to get his attention. This was all not good. As to the food. First, our fault for not knowing what tataki meant. We did not expect to receive salmon that was seared on the outside and raw on the inside. So that one is on us, although we also think the meal came tepid at best. The lamb on couscous was dry and tough. The pork cheek stew was actually pretty good if a bit gluey. The calamari was good. The sushi as they called it was average. What they called the tiramisu was more like a pudding with some liqueur and chocolate on the top, and a little bit of breadish stuff in the bottom. Not my idea of tiramisu, and probably not yours either. So we could not get too excited about these various dishes. But what was particularly frustrating and bizarre was that two people sitting across from us ordered food that looked absolutely delicious. So we got to sit there wondering why we didn't order what they ordered. They ordered a large beef dish with potatoes which is on the menu, and we think they ordered a large octopus meal although we are not sure. Everything they had looked better than anything we had. So it may be that we somehow just picked the wrong items. So it was a strangely frustrating meal. This place has good reviews and we expected good tasting food. Unfortunately it did not work out that way, and the ambience and service were negative contributing factors. I can't entirely write this place off, only because the food other diners received actually looked very good. But I don't think I would go there again.

The layout can be a bit confusing, as the restaurant seems to have three dining rooms with separate entrances but only one kitchen. Where we sat was charming, with stone walls and wood-beamed ceilings. We started with the foie appetizer, which was a delightful surprise for my palate. It was a unique combination of foie, cream cheese, and what I believe was pear. It was unusual, but I ended up really enjoying it. The zucchini noodles with pesto and burrata were also very enjoyable. However, the star of our dinner was the 40 day dry aged ribeye, cooked perfectly medium-rare, tender, and absolutely delicious.
