Carne asada, bacon wrapped shrimp, side of nopales and grilled cheese

This is one of my favorite restaurants, been going for years and go sometimes several times a week. Everything I have had there is great. Highly recommend their birria but really everything is delicious. Must try the cucumber drink... it's very refreshing!

Stopped in for a sweet tooth fix-- horchata and flan! The horchata was SO GOOD and the flan was just right. Our servers were so kind and made the experience even better. Of course the complementary savory chips, queso, and clearly homemade salsa were enjoyed as well! There was a large group eating adjacent to our table with an array of dinner dishes, and like other reviewers have said, the portions are huge! It smelled so good and I definitely will come back when I have room for more than a sweet treat!

Very friendly and 5 star service from the lady staff. However 1 star service on the horrid AC situation. Upgrade ur AC units man...u can afford it...the place is humming with business all day. My order got screwed up first time. They tried by making it good ...but still screwed it up. Gentleman manager got attitude...hey..take CARE OF THE CUSTOMER...ITS WHY U HAVE A BUSINESS...A SUCCESSFUL ONE!!

This place was amazing. The food was so tasty, it was probably the best Mexican place I've had in Oklahoma. The staff were friendly and helpful. They made the entire atmosphere very homey. I will definitely go back.

Last night for dinner I Found this Mexican spot off 23rd n MacArthur. Down the street from queen of sheba. El Birras has bomb shrimp and fish ceviche & its $6 [part-time #pesceratian ] The modelo especial w/ lime $3. I dont like the cheese, chips or salsa. Those need the most improvement! Street tacos are only $1.75. The lamb was okay!

Wow! So glad we finally stopped in and gave this place a try!!! The salsa is so amazingly fresh and delicious! Their special salsa is just perfect! Not too spicy but warm! I had the Posole verde which was the best I've ever had! My husband had the lamb which was so full of flavor and tender! Please give this place a try I promise it will not disappoint!

Has the best Birria the state, it's supposed to just be meat with tortillas and make sure you request without bone

I went here on a high recommendation for their ceviche tostadas. The recommendation was well warranted. The ceviche was great. A mix of fish and shrimp with the right amount of lime. It was chilled and came with big fresh slices of avocado. I do a Taco Tuesday every week on my Instagram food blog. So I took the opportunity to try one of their tacos. I had a Birria taco which is made of lamb meat. They have two sizes of tacos and I went with the larger one. I loved it. It comes with a red sauce which I thoroughly enjoyed. My mom had a chimichanga that came with a side of sour cream sauce. I put some of that on the taco and it took it to another level. All in all, I like this place. I'm definitely going back to try more of their menu.

It arrived as this dramatic, beautifully constructed tower of mixed seafood topped with avocado and a whole shrimp--definitely a dish that makes an entrance. The seafood seemed fresh, but I discovered that this particular style of mixed mariscos just isn't for me. Some of the seafood had a gray, translucent appearance and texture that I personally didn't enjoy. That may simply be characteristic of the preparation rather than any problem with the dish. I only tried this one item, so I don't think it would be fair to judge the kitchen more broadly based on my personal preference. What I can comment on much more definitively is the noise. It was extraordinarily loud. I eventually pulled out my phone and measured the sound level because I genuinely wanted to know whether it was as loud as it felt. I recorded levels exceeding 100 dB, with peaks around 103 dB. The staff couldn't have been friendlier. Unfortunately, I could barely hear them. I enjoy energetic restaurants and certainly don't expect dinner to take place in a library. But there's a point where "lively atmosphere" becomes something prospective customers deserve to know about before deciding where to spend an evening. This crossed that line for me. If a very high-energy, extremely loud environment is your thing, you may have a completely different experience. If you're hoping to have a conversation over dinner without shouting across the table, I'd choose accordingly. Friendly staff, impressively presented food, and a seafood dish that simply wasn't my jam. But the volume overwhelmed everything else about the experience--and at 103 dB, that's not background music. That's the main course.

There were plenty of tables and places to sit. The hostess got us to a table and we sat and ordered our food and talked and caught up. There was this guy I can only assume he must've been a manager, he kept hovering over our table, making sure our drinks were filled even after we had got through eating and just kept hovering like he was waiting for us to leave. I looked around the restaurant and there were plenty of tables that were empty. So I don't understand why he was hovering over us and trying to rush us out of the restaurant. It was probably the worst experience I've ever had at this restaurant. I don't know if he was just racist or if he was just being an asshole, but either way if someone comes in to pay for a meal and is sitting down and talking in the restaurant isn't busy. I don't see why there's a reason for you to turn around and try and force people out. To say the whole experience turned me off and I will probably not go back to this restaurant for a while.

It was very busy when we walked in but there was no wait. We were thankfully seated immediately and started off with chips and salsa. The chips were nice and crispy, but the salsa was mediocre. The tomatoes tasted canned. While I can totally get the efficiency behind using canned tomatoes for a busy restaurant, the taste is not preferred. The kids chicken quesadilla plate was a good amount of food! I just wish the quesadilla was already sliced as it was for our 3 year old. The chicken was also bland. Again, the portions were great. My son ordered the Burrito La Herencia with ground beef and this was seasoned well. Again, great portions of beans, rice & main dish. No complaints with this one! My spouse ordered the La Herencia fajita special and felt as if it was lacking. The steak pieces were minuscule and the shrimp was bland and undercooked. The pork chop was thinly sliced which was nice but VERY salty. We were wishing for more peppers and onions as well. Overall this dish was salty, but tolerable! It came with a side plate of rice, beans, pico de gallo, guac, sour cream & lettuce. Served with flour tortillas. We ordered the queso & guac while we were looking at the menu and waiting. I personally did not enjoy the queso. It was thick and had an artificial mouth feel. The guac was decent! Bland overall but I love the taste of avocado. I wish it had more lime and seasoning though since it was supposed to be Guacamole and not avocado dip. I ordered the Steak Mexicano with extra jalapeños and this was very good. Still on the salty side but I enjoy things on a SLIGHTLY saltier range. My spouse thought the steak was TOO salty. The peppers, onions, and tomatoes were nicely sautéed and seasoned. The rice here is also DELICIOUS. I hate a bland Mexican rice. The beans were good too but nothing to write home about. I do wish I was offered a side of corn tortillas. Overall this experience was okay! Not the worst but definitely not the best. The restaurant was beautifully decorated but there was a noticeable lack of music. We were sat listening to the chatter of all the different customers and kitchen noises. We did have the option of booth or table AND they have boosters seats/ high chairs upon request.
