The food is ok. The smell of moth balls is nauseating it ruins your food. I had to walk out.

Another favorite of mine in Kingsland. Very good Mexican food. The chips and salsa are very good. The chalupas are loaded and so delicious. They are very affordable and I have never had a bad meal here. They are not a fancy restaurant but when I have Mexican food, I find the fancier restaurants are not the best. Nice staff but food is VERY bland and the atmosphere is very uninviting. I feel a bit like I am eating in a school cafeteria. I have an autistic child, we cannot eat here as a family because it is really loud when it gets full. They have too much space and not enough tables. The staff was VERY friendly, almost to the point that I hate leaving a negative review but it is what it is. If not for the staff I would leave one star. read more

They margarita was good. The beef enchilada dinner had a lot of cheese and beef more than I could eat. If they would spruce the place up a little it might be an enjoyable place to go for dinner. First time to Bracero. We each enjoyed the various foods while service left a lot to be desired. The place was not too busy yet our waiter was hot or miss. He didn't know the menu at at and when we questioned him on several items, including drinks, his response was "I don't know...I don't make the drinks" or "I'm not sure". Your menu is small! Learn it! To top it all off, we had to each go to the register and hand pick the menu items each party enjoyed. Been eating at El Bracero Mexican Restaurant in Kingsland TX, for close to 15 years now. Always been great. But now, not sure what has happened, assume different management. On March 11th, 2021 we went and I ordered a Half Order of Nachos Deluxe like I normally do, wife ordered something else. Took long time to get food. While waiting we witnessed a waiter drop the rag on the floor and then finish wiping the tables. When I went to check out, the cashier insisted on charging me for a full order of Nachos rather than Half order as I received, even after arguing with her. I paid and said we will never go back. They lost a long time customer over a few dollars and carelessness. read more

My husband is obsessed with this place! In fact, our first date was here when I just started college. For me, I've had better but it's decent. Not too greasy. We usually go for the breakfast tacos(satisfying especially for the price) but tonight we had the fajitas. Usually the food is a bit bland and not spicy like I'm use to. The salsa is excellent and I love the thick texture of the chips. The atmosphere looks a bit dirty and watch out for parking since its a bit cramped. This is my least favorite Mexican Food Restaurant in the area. The chips are thick and not very good, but the salsa was great. We had mixed fajitas which were terribly salty. The chicken fajitas were the better of the two; beef not so much. Service was where it's at!! It was great and we were a large party! I had the Migas recommended by a friend so if we go again I will try that. Wish they would do something about those chips though. read more

I spoke directly to the health inspector, who said this place is "just one step away from putrid filth." I used to love going to El Bracero, but since my husband had to do an electrical service call due to a blown transformer box, he saw the condition the left everything in after they closed for the day. He said his boots stuck to the floor, they left things that needed to be refrigerated out overnight with no lids or even saran wrap to keep stuff out of it. My husband will eat just about anything, but when he comes home practically throwing up over the conditions of their kitchen, that says something. read more

This is the best place to eat in Kingsland. I've always done takeout from them, and they have really great tacos. The prices are great, you get plenty of food. Their al pastor tacos are my favorite, and when you put on the onions, cilantro, and lime that comes with them, they are super delicious! read more

Took the family to this restaurant yesterday. The first thing that struck me was the broken glass bottles in their parking lot. Take five minutes and pick up a broom! I should have turned back then. The floors were filthy and the decor is non-existent. The waitress was exceptionally rude and I had to ask (nicely) for more salsa three times. When she finally returned, she dumped an entire cup of salsa into our little bowl, so much so that it overflowed onto the table. There were five of us, and the food came out to each of us over the course of five minutes. When it did arrive, the food was bland and uneventful. The only good thing was the guacamole...and not cutting my foot on the way back to the car. read more

They have delicious fajitas and yummy shrimp cocktails. They are one of the few restaurants that have big enough space to accommodate a large group, so when we have a big group of family or friends we always come here. The staff is nice and our drinks stay filled, as well as the chip baskets and the salsa bowls. Are orders are always correct, we will continue to come here. read more

Came to El Bracero on a Sunday morning. The restaurant was pretty busy, but our waitress was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the bean and cheese breakfast taco, and my wife ordered the chilaquiles. It took awhile for our food to arrive (about 30 min), but that was probably because of the morning crowd. My bean and cheese breakfast taco was delicious!! The tortilla was light and fluffy, and the beans were the best I've ever had. I also tried some of my wife's plate, and the chilaquiles were fresh and very spicy! We both love spicy food, so we were quite happy. It is a hole in the wall place with a lot of seating inside. They've got some good options and the food is authentic. They seem to have slow service on Sundays, which is when I usually go, and are somewhat inattentive if they aren't ready for you, but the food is good and cheap. They would get a full 5 stars if they were faster and would be more attentive. This is the best Mexican food in Kingsland, and probably the whole area. Calling ahead helps a little if you're getting food to go, but not much. They never seem to start working on it until I walk in the door. read more

When I go to a Mexican food restaurant I typically order nachos. This place has the best deluxe nachos I've ever had the pleasure of eating. I've tried to duplicate them at home and just can't do it. I don't understand the bad reviews. The interior could definitely use some help but I'm not basing my review on that. I actually prefer the openness versus Alfredo's where all the tables are packed extremely close. The food has always been great and I prefer this place over Alfredo's any day. I absolutely love their cheese dip enchiladas. The crispy tacos are really great as well. When we have friends come visit, we always end up picking up a mass order of crispy tacos (great hangover craving). This place is super packed around lunch time on Sundays though, expect a little longer wait on your food. That doesn't bother us though. I'm definitely team El Bracero. read more

I get take out from here often. I am addicted to the chicken fajita tacos. Their breakfast tacos are huge and nicely filled and guacamole is great! My husband lives their beef enchiladas with queso and chimichanga with queso. I've had worse and I've had better. When ever I come to pickup my order the people are pleasant. The other foods on the menu are just that food. Nothing fancy probably better up the street but inexpensive enough for the whole family to eat out and walk away full. Decor is non existent and kinda plain .but I generally just carry out! I'm very picky though so take it as you see fit. read more
