Two of us had bacon cheeseburgers and I tried the Philly cheesesteak special. All were happy with what we ordered and the prices were reasonable. Picnic tables and working AC highlight this small older building on Hwy 1431 in the main part of Kingsland. Used to be an antique store where I purchased lots of handmade quilts over the years and probably makes a better little restaurant. We'll come back to try something else. It's nice to have some other options than the ubiquitous Mexican food options on 1431. Wish these folks success.

An elderly, mobility challenged couple parked at the front of the restaurant. The wait staff rushed out and assisted them to a table. Don and Barbara are regulars...I talked to them a bit on my way out. The care I saw happen there talks about the heart of America. It's not the politicians that make this country great...It's the people! It's service like this, that goes above and beyond. It's small, neighborly businesses where the customers become family. The smoke free restaurant is clean and spacious with plenty of seating. The friendly wait staff stays on the move attending to customer's cups of tea, coffee and sodas. Outside, the parking lot has plenty of handicapped access spaces and free general parking galore...with lot's of room for rancher's truck's and trailers. I only have one complaint. In my book, breakfasts like theirs should be available all day long. LOL. Dang good stuff! Friday night is all you can eat catfish. When I want catfish, this is my goto. The fish is tender, succulent fillets and the beans and hush puppies are to die for. Chose to go with blueberry cakes, over easy eggs and sausage links. While we waited for our food, our cups were refilled timely with good, hot, coffee. Food came out and it was nice and hot. My pancakes were loaded with blueberries so fluffly. My scrambled eggs were cooked perfectly and the sausages were tasty. Food was aplenty and filling.
