Walked in here after a daytime party in Rosemont which was at Joe's Live and we came here around 8 pm and I had a taste for gorditas Upon ordering I asked the man who took my order (I asked for his name but I forgot it) and we went over the gorditas and he explained how they were to which I wanted them the rancho style and he assured me they were and that they aren't really super friend and crispy to which I wanted the opposite of that and I didn't get what we had discussed as he said I would and so I wasn't satisfied. THIS PLACE SLAAAAAAAAAAAAPSSSSSSS! I was here with a group of 6 for a weekday dinner. This was my first experience here and El Burrito Amigo is by far my favorite taco place of all time. The restaurant is not IG aesthetic by any means, however, it has everything you need in a taco shop. Our group placed our orders at the front counter and the process was simple. The staff member that helped us was friendly and happy to answer any questions we had. Once our food was ready they called the number on our receipts and we picked up our food at the same counter we ordered from. There is a limited selection of alcohol but they have the essentials. For my drink I got a beer (Pacifico) and for dinner I got 3 tacos: al pastor, carne asada and pollo. I also tried a bite of my fiance's gordita plate (1 carne asada and 1 al pastor with rice and beans on the side). I was very surprised about how tasty the rice was. Going forward I plan on ordering the taco plate instead of just tacos. Out of the 3 tacos I had, the al pastor was my favorite. El Burrito Amigo's al pastor taco is hands down the best al pastor taco ever created. It is marinated and seasoned very well and cooked perfectly. Lastly our table shared chips and guac - WOW. To begin, the dining area adjacent to where orders are taken is spacious. I've been in plenty taquerias and the dining area is worth noting. I ordered 2 ground beef tacos and a steak burrito. I will admit, the steak was well seasoned and the burrito was a fair size but it wasn't wrapped well, so the heat from the packaging made it soggy. El Burrito Amigo was recommended for their carne asada because they serve it ranchera style. So I had to go check it out. I ordered the taco dinner and ordered carne asada, lengua, and al pastor. All were delicious, but the star was the carne asada. Carne asada ranchera is the way to go! Normally, I'm not a big fan of refried beans, but El Burrito Amigo does a good job of making refried beans. And the Mexican rice was flavorful. So, if you're feeling super hungry, I'd recommend the taco dinner and order all carne asada tacos. I only wish they had homemade tortillas. I'll be back again! read more

A great Burrito Carne Asada was what I really had a taste for on the morning I stumbled upon this place. The interior is very basic but clean. There aren't many frills or thrills but that's fine by me. The burrito was large, fresh, and delicious! Great combination of flavors and a good hot salsa to douse it with. If you are looking for a fast quick bite this would be the place for you. Ordering at the counter, your order will be ready when called. Food was average, beans were the highlight of the meal. Was anticipating a bit more of a different experience based on the reviews I read, but certainly everyone has their own take on things. The sope had a nice taste to it, the cabeza needed more flavor as did the Al pastor Quesadilla. The horchata was good, not overly sweet and could taste the cinnamon. For lunch, this is an amazing place with nice and quick service where you can quickly get Mexican food which tastes good. I got my food within five minutes after I had placed an order. I loved thier steak tacos, sopes and burritos and their "zanahorias in vinagre" all of food I ordered were delicious. The workers here are always smiling as they serve you and every meal is perfect. First off this place was recommended by the locals and reasonably priced. $13 - Carne asada was seasoned and had a great grilled flavor. Tortillas were double stacked, rice was flavorful, and beans were made right. There wasn't any lime in the place but it did have a great staff. Delicious burrito and tacos. I go here often and, whenever I'm going to be flying out of O'Hare, I stop in to buy a burrito and eat it onboard. Fast service, nice, unfancy storefront. Can sit down to eat or take away. Parking is a bit tight depending on when you go as it's in a strip with other businesses. They use to have an orange juice machine but, since the pandemic, maybe oranges got too expensive or, there wasn't enough of market for it. But, it's more. On any account, they have lots of beverages to choose from so you won't go thirsty. Ask for the carrots and sauces. The guacamole and chips are good as an appetizer. read more

I'm in this area a few times a year and I never considered any of the Mexican options because it has so many options and I have no experience with any of them, well that changed. I would have one chance to get this right so I jumped on Yelp and did a quick look around and ended up here. There was one place in Chicago where I could get the only known skirt steak burrito because I have never seen it anywhere else and I have been going there for ever until a few weeks ago when I found out that they closed for good, I was bummed that I probably would never have a skirt steak again from a Mexican restaurant. Thank you to yelper who posted the menu picture which showed a skirt steak burrito because I'm there. The place is in a strip mall but don't let that stop you from going because it's obviously the place to go to judging by the line just before 4pm which never stopped as long as I was there. This place was a well oiled machine cranking out plates and bags of carry out of Mexican food. The place looks like two store fronts combine with plenty of window seating and a dining room on the side. The fresh squeezed orange juice machine next to the cold drinks was a nice touch. I opted for the skirt steak burrito dinner so I could try the rice and beans. The rice was the sticky over cooked kind with corn/peas and seasoned. The beans were thick with smooth beans and whole beans which were good and seasoned also. The skirt steak burrito was ordered steve's way, I added Cilantro and onion which I always do when it's not in the Mexican food to start with and it comes filled with beans, tomatoes, lettuce and cheese on its own. The steak burrito was very good and tasty, seasoned just like all the food and not in the salty way. The burritos was a good size and packed with plenty of delicious skirt steak, no skimping at all and no gristle/fat or mystery pieces like some places. If your a steak burrito fan and you have never a good skirt steak burrito than you should head over and get one and since it's only the second place that I have found one at I'm going to stop over again when I'm in the area. read more

The old axiom holds true here: "Eat where the locals eat." I've been to this establishment several times and have never been disappointed. There is usually a line of people waiting for their their food and to order. This isn't because of slow service but because they are so popular. I've never waited long on my food though. The food is authentic. The meats are large chunks and juicy. The fixings are fresh and good quality. There are tables for those who want to eat there but there is not table service. They are friendly. The food is great. And the place is clean. Prices are fine too. I will definitely return and do recommend this establishment as a carry out restaurant. read more

So my latest adventure brought me here. We walked in & service was prompt. I ordered 2 steak tacos, 1 steak burrito, 1 steak torta. NO I DIDN'T EAT ALL OF THAT!!!! LOL My torta looked great, but the bread turned soggy and wasn't toasted enough. My tacos were just ok. The steak was grade B I'd say. It was something about the food that just wasn't GREAT... Found this gem a few months ago when I was doing laundry a few doors down. I live nowhere near this place. Not familiar with this area at all. I tried their steak tacos. Wow! They were! I returned a few weeks later during a laundry run and tried their torta. Then another time a tostada. Dang 45 minute drive that I reasoned was worth what they cooked up here. I guess it also allowed me to fill up on gas nearby for the low low. This place is crazy busy too. I have gone during the week and weekends, either afternoon or evening, and always a steady stream of traffic. Weekends are busier. A bit pricey in my opinion. I will say that I visited one time and the steak meat was dry, but all other times on point like a Pasadita steak taco. At least a steak taco here is not close to $10! read more

The BEST Tacos Al Pastor!!! If you like tacos, you have to try the Al Pastor tacos here. They remind me of the tacos I had in Mexico City. The gorditas are also amazing. My teenage son (who is very picky) loves their steak torta dinner. We love their food, great service and cleanliness. This restaurant will not disappoint. You must try their food. It's AMAZING!!! This is now my local burrito spot, they have the most consistent Mexican cuisine in the neighborhood! The interior is no frills but large, comfortable and accommodating, although the parking lot can be a bit tight. The menu is typical but everything is done well, the meat has always been quality and cooked well. The ingredients have always been fresh and plentiful. They do also have additional salsas, pickled veggies and limes available. I enjoy the burritos/tacos and typically get the dinners with rice/beans. They also have beer on the menu, because what pairs better with a Carne Asada Burrito dinner than a Corona Familiar. The pricing is perfect for the portions and consistency. All in all this is my burrito spot even though are there places closer. read more
