Cold Rainy day, time for chicken soup and a burrito.

Parking can be a bit challenging, today no issue. Lobby / dining area clutter free and clean. Pleasant staff, order placed efficiently. Soup served "Loaded" plenty of chicken, cabbage, carrot, potato as well as a plate of jalapeño, cilantro, rice and onion. Nice bowl of soup. Steak burrito. Wife's started with too much gristle. (Disappointed). Flavors were good. Temps all spot on. Other than the poor steak / meat in the burrito, a decent meal as well as price point.

Suppose to be a Steak burrito with extra crispy tortilla. Maybe next time I ask to hold the grease?

Well I gotta say. The only one of these stores worth the $ is the one in New Lenox. I was adamant about making sure my order was clear. Crispy tortilla on my burrito. Checked it before we left and it was luke warm... no where near crispy. They threw it back on for maybe a minute and sent me on my way...got home and Well I will let the pictures speak for itself.

They are so petty with the vegetables . Apparently Corn cost so much and they can't even give a a half . Two pieces of carrots wow smh.

My husband and I liked this place , but unfortunately today in my husbands tampiqueña dinner that we ordered to go had a piece of rock in it. My husband was eating and noticed something hard in his food so he had to spit everything out and found a rock. We have eaten in this place before and nothing like this has happened. I called to tell them what had happened and the guy on the phone tells me , oh a rock I don't see how that would happen, then he asks was it in the meat or beans , I told him meat , he says , I don't think the meat maybe the beans. What does he mean maybe the beans so he is saying this is ok for their food to have rocks. I told him the food shouldn't have rocks in the first place. And he says oh well I don't know what to tell you. I can't believe this place. People please check your food when eating here.

A whole chunk of pepper with the STEM, really?

I keep trying to give this place a chance and every time you guys do something to my food. Who even puts a whole ass STEM in a taco?? Obviously this place could care less what the customers receive. I didn't spend my money here to receive my food like this!!!!!! Disrespectful as hell and would give zero stars if i could, let me just walk up into your restaurant and spit in all your food and see how you feel about that! Get your shit together.

Combo #1 chicken taco, cheese enchilada

(I really expected by the reviews on yelp for this place to be a real restaurant, but make note, its like 1 tiny notch above Mexican fast food. No servers, no bar, etc.) For Joliet standards this place is a 4 star place, for Los Angeles or Mexico's standards this place is a 2 star, so I'm going middle of the road w/ this review. I ordered the combo platter to best gauge how well this place can do an assortment of Mexican's greatest hits: taco, enchilada and beans. Sadly, this place really could have been amazing, but the chicken was a little dry and flavorless, and the beans clearly didn't have that creamy lardy consistency that is synonomous with Mexican food. The salsa squirters on the table, however, were filled with delicious green and red salsa that completely brought the food to life. But by my standards one shouldn't have to rely on salsa alone! What I CAN say was delicious was their guacamole. I also use guac as the litmus test for good Mexican and this place wins on that challenge! The guac was seasoned perfectly, not watered down, nor filled with sour cream to beef up the guac. it was really good and I would go back just for it and the chips to dip in. They do serve beer there,

Unfortunately, the food was nothing like I remember Checkers being. Everything was extremely salty--to the point it was basically inedible--and we ended up throwing most of it out. On top of that, they forgot the apple pie I ordered. What made it worse was the aftermath. The next morning, I woke up with a very upset stomach, and when I spoke with my buddy later, he said he was sick all day as well. Overall, this was a really poor experience. Between the quality of the food, the missing item, and getting sick afterward, I definitely won't be coming back to this location or any Checkers if this is the quality of food and service I will be receiving.

The Checkers was part and parcel with a gas station on the corner, so you have to get by that. We decided to be bold and try the Checkers - and we are glad we did. We had a cheeseburger (5 star good and really a surprise for flavorful and perfectly done) and a fried chicken sandwich (4 star very good, could only have been a bit crispier but overall excellent). The fries we shared were also good (3 stars as they have that crispy coating some restaurants like to put on them). Since we hit this place right at lunch time, everything was fresh for us. All in all this was an excellent meal. We wouldn't hesitate to stop by again.

IT ALL ADDS UP…read more Download enough fast food apps, and you eventually *can* get what amounts to a free lunch. Recently, the generous people at Chick-fil-A loaded a few surprise rewards on my CFA mobile app (a free large drink, free bag of waffle chips) and that spurred me to stop here for lunch the other day.  This location on Larkin Ave in Joliet opened in August 2025, so it's still relatively new. Despite there only being a single car in front of me, the drive-thru wait exceeded 5+ minutes.  On a return visit, the drive-thru was somehow even slower and even the mobile ordering line (which is typically speedier) was a solid 10 minutes.  What gives? After my visit, I got yet another notification to complete a quick survey for -- you guessed it -- a free sandwich.  The carousel of freebies keeps turning!  Protip: always ask for "lite ice" in your drink, otherwise you wind up getting nearly 80% ice and only a few sips of actual soft drink.   * TL;DR * Prior to my posting, this Chick-fil-A only had two reviews: one 5-star and one 1-star.  With the median rating already sitting at an underwhelming 3*, this review will neither help nor hinder that. I've been to a handful of CFA's in the Chicago metro area, and this one is BY FAR the slowest.  Whether due to understaffing or a general lack of training, there seems to be no urgency in getting orders out the door.

It seems like they've been in business for some time and they are providing excellent customer service. Food itself was okay - the guacamole was good, wings were tasty, salad was okay. Today we ordered a maple bacon milkshake, peanut butter milkshake, 1/4 pound grilled cheese burger on toast, 1/2 pound New Orleans burger and a shareable basket of parmesan truffle fries. Let's start with the positives, the shakes were well made and not overwhelmingly sweet and we liked that a lot. My husband's 1/2 pound burger seemed a little small and my grilled cheese burger said it would be on Texas toast but it seemed like it was sourdough bread and not really thick cut like Texas toast should be. I was looking forward to eating here because the pictures of the fries online looked long and thick cut, the basket of fries we got didn't look like that at all and lacked Parmesan cheese. The negative experience was the fact the water tasted weird. I took one sip and tasted a weird chemical taste but my husband and I didn't complain, we just paid and left. I don't know if it was the water or the cup but it definitely had a weird taste. Overall, the experience was ok. I think we had higher expectations seeing all the pictures online. The name of the place threw us both off because we thought it was a Latino owned burger joint with a Mexican twist but that wasn't the case at all.
