We were headed to the Rialto for a show and looking for a restaurant convenient to the theater. We saw Atotonico's on the map with great reviews. It was a great decision. The food is excellent, and the service is friendly and fast. I had the steak tacos. I had them with no cheese because I like the taste of steak. The steak was delicious. I highly recommend them. Everything about Taquerias Atontolico was fantastic! The guacamole, tacos, tortas, chilaquiles -- all of it was so fresh and absolutely delicious. We also tried the churros -- homemade! Ok this location been here twice many years ago and now but this one just doesn't feel like the real atotonilco though hmm the food is decent but don't taste the same as 47th 57th or the one and only 26th street locations. The horchata was bad to be honest they need to make it in house taste like it made from a bag and if it's made here then they need to stick to the original way of making it like the other locations. Food is very good, especially the al pastor and elotes. However, if you cannot speak fluent spanish expect bad service unfortunately. They have marinated carrots and limes complimentary but I found it odd no complimentary chips and salsa. We ordered chips and salsa but also do not expect actual salsa. .its just hot sauce in a bowl. I hadn't been to this Joliet location in a while since I don't live nearby. I used to go to the 26th Street location in Chicago. The food was fine, but I feel that it is way overpriced. 5 steak tacos, one burrito, one milanesa torta, 4 drinks= $71. Tacos are $5 and Jarrito bottle drinks $4. We paid $2.50 to add cheese to my daughter's tacos, they first said they couldn't add it directly on the tacos. We said we would pay the extra charge but wanted it melted. Our waiter brought the tacos with the cheese not melted. Then a waitress came by to remind us again that the owner changed the practice of adding cheese directly on tacos. Then we can hear her complaining to other employees about this. I gave it 3 stars because we don't understand the big deal of adding cheese and overpriced food. read more

Friendly service. Plenty of meat in my tacos. The chorizo was really really salty to me, but overall it was good. I had some rice and refried beans also which offset the saltiness. If you pay cash it will be cheaper since there is a fee if you use credit card. Overall I would come back. There is parking and a drive through. It is near a Dollar Tree. read more

Stopped in tonight with a friend before a concert at the Rialto. I've dined at this and the Stone Park location previously. The staff was friendly and very quick to take and deliver our order. The steak tacos were delicious, the shells were very warm and slightly crisped. Heavenly. Loved the garnish with the spiced carrots and fresh limes. The taco sauce was a hit too. All of this was washed down with a couple bottles of Jarritos Orange pop. Yummy. My friend lives close to here and I'm sure she'll be back! Wish I lived closer to the locations. One of my favorite taco spots in Joliet that also just so happens to serve the most delicious milkshakes. They're unlike any shake I've ever had and they top them with cinnamon which just gives it that extra flavor. I highly recommend the chocolate or strawberry shake! They are cash-only but have an ATM available onsite should you need it. read more
