My husband and I stopped in today and the ambiance was nice. There's different seating arrangements to fit your comfortability whether it's a table, booth or single seat with a storefront view. Today we ordered a maple bacon milkshake, peanut butter milkshake, 1/4 pound grilled cheese burger on toast, 1/2 pound New Orleans burger and a shareable basket of parmesan truffle fries. Let's start with the positives, the shakes were well made and not overwhelmingly sweet and we liked that a lot. My husband's 1/2 pound burger seemed a little small and my grilled cheese burger said it would be on Texas toast but it seemed like it was sourdough bread and not really thick cut like Texas toast should be. I was looking forward to eating here because the pictures of the fries online looked long and thick cut, the basket of fries we got didn't look like that at all and lacked Parmesan cheese. The negative experience was the fact the water tasted weird. I took one sip and tasted a weird chemical taste but my husband and I didn't complain, we just paid and left. I don't know if it was the water or the cup but it definitely had a weird taste. Overall, the experience was ok. I think we had higher expectations seeing all the pictures online. The name of the place threw us both off because we thought it was a Latino owned burger joint with a Mexican twist but that wasn't the case at all. read more

Checked out this place in Joliet that has tons of burgers. Hamburgerseria is known for the main menu item obviously. It has more things of course but they're pretty much afterthoughts it seems. A lot of ways to prepare these and what to put on these is the coolest thing about it. They even have a vegetarian one so they can get in on one that isn't meaty. Burgers make up most of the menu. It's got quite a few appetizers to try before getting one. There's fries obviously. Also cheese curds and hummus. Those not wanting burgers can get chicken sandwiches. It's about $3 for bottles of beer. There's not a whole lot to choose from besides the basic corporate ones. It's about $15 for the Black Bean Burger. We got these and fries. A few things come on this burger. There's goat cheese which I left off, along with lettuce and tomatoes. Got to say it was better than expected. This is an unassuming spot in a strip mall. Until you get in and see what they have in store for ya !! A lot of burgers with so many different toppings. My order was a quad of slider sized ones so I could try different ones. And they come with these amazing fries ! Also got two of the grilled cheese burgers that my husband and son pronounced very good and some homemade chips. Chips could have been a little crispier but not too bad all in all. My fave was my flight. It came with a ton of fries. Like we 3 all could have eaten on them. Not too bad for 15.00. Other burgers were around 10.00. Not too badly priced for what we got. Two issues. One, ordered online and brought an old gift certificate to help with payment. Clerk said she'd have to check in back to determine the amount. Came out and said it was worth $15.00. Upon returning home, found the original gift receipt and it was for $30.00. Two, the order included a burger, fries and a Cobb salad. The very hot container for the fries was placed directly on top of the box with the salad. Salad was wilted when opened. Tried twice to contact to contact Hamburgerseria and no response to either attempt. This has ended my patronage of that establishment. Tread carefully when ordering from these people. We also got an order of the sweet potato fries which were cold once the waitress brought them. The place was clean, overall we ended up spending $50 on 3 meals, including drinks. Here's a revised version of your Yelp review: --- This place serves great coffee and offers huge salads with generous portions of steak. The sliders with house-made chips were also fantastic. The waitress was quick, kind, and patient, refilling our drinks promptly. It's a perfect spot for lunch or dinner. The restaurant is clean, and the staff efficiently cleans tables as soon as people leave. My only suggestion would be to add salt and pepper to the tables. While the steak was cooked perfectly to my request, it lacked seasoning, which was a bit disappointing. Nonetheless, it was still well-prepared. Service was excellent. Let me start by saying the buger meat was delicious but imho they have a serious issue that needs to be rectified before someone gets sick. Everything was great until my burger showed up on an artsy wood cutting board. I get it it's cute and a neat idea. But a really bad one for serving food. I instantly had a smell of moldy bleached wood from the bottom of my hamburger bun. Even our waitress said she has had alot of complaints about the same thing. I would bet my paycheck on it that it's been ran through a dishwasher a few thousand times. Wood cutting boards should never be run through a dishwasher. I have finished wood professionally my entire life and thats very unsafe. I would much rather see them use an HDPE board than take the risk associated with an unproperly maintained wood cutting board. If it was professionally maintained maybe get away with it (still very risky in a restraunt )but the board my burger came out on was not. Look at the deep cut marks on the board and the blacknesss. I am not going to say what that is but we can all probably guess it correctly. This board is nowhere near maintained properly. I really hope they remedy this. I will go back but definitely request it be put on a plate. read more

This was my second time at Hamburgerseria - and the first time was much better than the second...so averaging the two reviews together - with more emphasis on my last visit. My experience yesterday was okay - but enough that I might not be back again. I got the hamburger special - jalapenos / tomato / chipolte sauce. It was decent - but not great. We shared a basket of fries - and while my parents noted it was a smaller basket than before - that didn't bother me. What bothered me more so was that the fries were overdone / lacked flavor. Driving to Chicago from Springfield we found this gem in Joliet. Parking was easy in the lot. I had the sliders, and each and every one were SO GOOD! My husband's burger with the garlic-parm fries was fire too! We also decided to split the bacon-wrapped hot dog, which was probably overkill, but after tasting I had zero regrets. I ordered the Country Burger w/Sweet Potato Fries. They asked me how I wanted it cooked, and while I usually order medium-rare, I asked for medium, since it was my first time there. The burger was cooked perfectly, it had just the right amount of sauce, and the fries were also "just right" with the right amount of salt. Used to love this place! Not so much after today's visit. They charged .50 for extra sauce, when it should have been on the burger. Our waitress never said anything when I asked for it. Also when paying, beware of service fee. Restaurant now adds 5% without any warning or disclaimer anywhere!! Felt very frustrated and extremely disappointed in our visit. Outstanding!!! Like the other reviewers my experience here was great. Nice place situated in a strip mall. The waitress was an extremely helpful and polite. I think her name was Nicole and she suggested the O'Hare burger.......a quarter, half or full pound burger cooked how you like it with grilled onions, portobello mushrooms, Swiss cheese and burger sauce. A side of hand cut fries seasoned to perfection and I was in a serious food coma!! I got their Greek Isles salad to take to work and it was awesome too.
