Located in the large gas station on the north west corner of where highway 5 and highway 269 intersect. Real food, good quality. They assemble the food for you to request. I've been about 5 times and haven't had to wait more than 5 ish minutes. They're pretty quick, you can tell they're used to being busy. I always get a vegetarian burrito because it's easy on my stomach during the long drive, and easier to eat while driving. Their salsa is very good!! But other people's food always looks good. I make a point to stop here when I can. Definitely recommend! There is some indoor seating for dining (shared with Subway). Ambience is it's in a gas station. (Very well maintained restrooms too) Looking forward to next time!

We ordered three items: * Chorizo burrito * Chicken burrito * Chicken quesadillas The same lady who took my order was also preparing the food, and she seemed overwhelmed juggling multiple tasks and repeatedly forgetting parts of my order. When I asked for the pico de gallo on the side for the chicken burrito, she packed everything up and forgot it entirely. When I turned back to ask for it, she said it would be extra. The chorizo ended up tasting burnt, likely because she was managing several orders at once and left it on the cooktop too long. Overall, not the best experience. I'd suggest trying the taco truck outside of the Gas station or Subway next to it. They weren't too friendly either. The inside is clean! That's for the 1 Star

Quiet sweet woman behind counter, simple interior. Hubby got Carne Asada Burrito, I got chicken burrito and we split chips to go. 1. Both meats had perfect *chefs kiss* flavor 2. Rice was on point and fresh and fluffy 3. Tortillas themselves were fresh 4. Chips were made on spot and handed to us warm 5. Salsa that comes with burritos is perfect accompaniment 6. Pico de Gallo that comes with chips is classic but they elevated it with roasted jalepenos. Overall, perfect roadside stop in your way to coast. Had to leave a review for this little place that deserves more business. It's legitmately SOLID! skip subway, and get the good stuff.

In California, quite often when I visit small towns, I like to sample the cuisine in the area,…read moreespecially Mexican dishes. I often ask locals of what is the best authentic Mexican restaurants and with the city of Avenal having a large Latino population, the area has a few Mexican restaurants. I decided to try Taqueria "La Piedad", a small restaurant that was a little crowded during lunch time. Most of the locals were watching the futbol (soccer game), while I quickly went in to see how things looked inside and it's your typical small town restaurant. No flashy decor, small town vibe (without looking to '80s). Just a place to order and get some food or place to site back and dine and the restaurant has a good number of offerings including burgers. But I was definitely not there for the burgers, I was there to check things out and so I went for a chicken burrito. Reasonably priced at $6.50. For the most part, the burrito was delicious, but felt that there was more rice than chicken but perhaps that was just me expecting too much. So, for the most part, a good balance of rice, beans and chicken with cilantro. The burrito was delicious but looking around me, patrons were not ordering the burritos, they were going for tostadas and tacos it seemed. But overall, the quick visit to Taqueria "La Piedad" was good and if you happen to be in the area, definitely a place worth trying.
