Chicken taco

Quick and friendly service. Chicken tacos are a highlight. Can also recommend steak tacos.

Salad with chicken

My mom, brother, and I stopped here today for lunch. My mom is obsessed with their breakfast burritos and never stops talking about them! However, today my mom ordered the pancakes, which she also really liked. I had one of their salads and added chicken, and my brother had the chorizo breakfast burrito. Everything was good! This is more of a family-friendly Mexican (or maybe Tex-Mex?) restaurant rather than a high-end Mexican restaurant, so great to bring family to or for breakfast. All of the staff members were super nice, and there is plenty of parking since they share the parking lot with Safeway, the froyo place, etc.

Casual unhurried experience for lunch with wife, daughter and granddaughter. Everything ok but not exceptional. We opted for outdoor table in front of restaurant. Very hot weather for Menlo Park so we enjoyed being outdoors on the shaded walkway. Menu above average options for Mexican cuisine. Service and ambiance good for a shopping center restaurant. Margaritas and Mexican beer choices very good. Expect Menlo Park prices. Everything in this neighborhood is high price. Eg $50 dollar hair cuts etc...

Fish taco

I ordered two fish tacos. I really enjoyed them. The melted cheese made the tacos taste so much better. The service is fine. The ambience is comfortable. They play Mexican music in the background. I highly recommend going here.

Piece of hard plastic in food

Had a piece of hard plastic that I choked on. For $25 I feel like not having plastic in your food is a bare minimum.

We picked up a to go tacos for only 5 dollars. The taco was crunchy, the chicken was well seasoned. And we were both able to enjoy some.

I ordered a burrito with carne asada along with one taco. Right away, I was impressed with the presentation. Everything was neatly packed, and the portions were generous, which is always a plus for catered meals. Overall, the taste wasn't bad, but it didn't completely wow me. The carne asada was decent and filling, though I feel the burrito would've tasted much better with sour cream. Unfortunately, that came with an extra fee, so I skipped it. In hindsight, I probably would've enjoyed the meal more if I ordered a bowl instead, since the flavors might have stood out more without being wrapped in a tortilla. While it wasn't my favorite Mexican-style catering I've had, it was still a solid option for a work meal. I appreciated the portion size and presentation, and with a few tweaks to my order next time, I think the experience could be better.

Sweet :) Wanted something relatively fast and somewhat healthy and hearty, so we decided to go in. I ordered three shrimp tacos which I believe came with corn tortillas, grilled shrimp, green bell peppers, white onions, and some kind of salsa (green salsa & pico de callo). Delicious! There was a pretty good amount of shrimp in each taco, which I was super stoked on. Total for the three shrimp tacos came out to $19.74 (3x shrimp tacos = $5.99). Everything came out perfect and consistent. There is seating outside and plenty of seating inside. When you first walk in, you will notice the bar to the left side of the restaurant. It was clean, bright, and welcoming. The woman at the counter was straight-forward, nothing too crazy to note on. They have a $10 minimum when paying with a credit card, so just be prepared for that :) The best part is... they have self-serve tortilla chips AND self-serve salsa bar! Their salsas were the right amount of spicy (just the way I like it)... Their bathroom is also very clean, which is always a plus. I told my friend that I will make note of this restaurant, because it's so good and delicious... (will definitely come back again for their salsa bar :)

It has always been a…read morego-to for special occasions, hosting out of town guests and now is very much my standard takeout place on a Saturday night. My original dish of choice was the Red Snapper Al Mojo de Ajo. But many years ago I made the switch to Enchiladas de Mariscos. I have tried the Mole Poblano and fajitas. I have been known to get a burrito for lunch. There are other things on the menu I'm sure I'd be happy with. But, when it's Cafe del Sol night, I crave the adobo marinated seafood and chipotle tequila cream sauce of the seafood enchiladas. They are served with yummy cilantro rice, diced mango, salsa fresca, and a small salad. The rotating dishes of my party include Camarones al Mojo de Ajo, the Red Snapper, Fish Tacos, and El Combo. We always get Quesadilla de Camaron as a starter. The quesadilla comes with a side of guacamole, sour cream, salsa fresca, and diced mango for your dipping pleasure. A side order of chips comes with an addictive salsa verde. The restaurant is not without its challenges. It is a small space and often only has one server. The two servers, Tammy and Sonia, have been there forever and are very loyal to their customers. If you are looking for a place with constant stimulation, the latest and greatest in restaurant decor, this isn't the place for you. I come back over and over for the flavors I can't resist.

I typically order the chicken nachos or the chicken tostada. I have no idea what seasoning they use on the chicken, but it is to die for! I've also tried some of their other appetizers which were also very good. Taking way one star just because the inside is pretty awkward to navigate (you have to squeeze between tables), and I do wish they offered margaritas haha. I also feel like it's always super quiet in there when dining in. I feel like if they had fun music playing or offered weekend brunch or something, it might get more customers in there.
