Al pastor (green salsa is SPICY)
    Erica M.

This location has really good al pastor tacos. Beware of their salsa verde as it is really spicy, very unexpected heat for a green salsa. Their Jamaica is refreshing and has just the right amount of sweetness. This place is CASH ONLY so come prepared and enjoy some tacos and Jamaica.

El Grullense is the spot for tacos in the Bay Area! Super easy to pick up to-go or eat at the gas station lot. This location was quick and convenient! I ordered 4 different tacos and they were incredible. My favorite was the steak and carnitas! First off, the price is great and they load up the tacos with meat and extra pickled vegetables. There are many locations for a reason! I would definitely come back to try a burrito next time. Ps. Careful when eating there because the birds are waiting to pick up your crumbs.

Cash only! ATM is in the gas station. Located where the gas station is. We ordered to-go super burritos. Both Tripitas ($13.75) and Cabeza ($11.50) were good. I've had better tripas though. This wasn't as charred or crispy. But it's still good for the price. Where can you get burritos for these prices? There wasn't much guacamole and stuff. Mostly meat, beans, and rice. Service was fast. We ordered over phone. There's no dine in option.

11 tacos for $31!!!! What a deal! Tacos were good for the area. They were super quick. They are located in the gas station but have their own store. Shared parking lot with the gas station. Spicy is spiiiicy! But good. I like the carne asada over the pastor. You have to ask for limes- received lemons. Doesn't come with any salsa/ sauce. Cash only

My husband and I LOVE coming to this spot for tacos. They only accept cash! Located in a gas station and you order at the window. We love their tacos because they don't skimp out on the meat and they're consistently good! Thats why we always crave them and come back for more. Love their salsa too!

This specific location is a hidden gem amongst the many other Tacos El Grullense in the Bay Area. The food here is the most authentic Mexican food I have ever tasted outside of Mexico itself. The food is also extremely reasonably priced. The service here is amazing, they give you whatever you need as long as you are polite. The ambiance here is unmatched, never have I ever seen a restaurant within a gas station, and if I ever do there's no chance it matches up to this place. (6/5 stars)

We heard this was considered the best location so we gave them a try! It's located at the gas station and only has a pickup window. Cash only! Tacos are solid. Got the pastor, asada, and Tripas. The best meat is definitely the Tripas. For $2.45 a taco you can't beat it.

You know the food is going to be fire when it's attached to a gas station. The locals have sent me here on my quest for carnitas tacos and it did not disappoint! Juicy, greasy and the salsas are spicy and delicious! I'm kicking myself for not coming here sooner! Prices are great too! There is plenty of street parking as well. CASH ONLY

Came here unexpectedly after a late concert for a quick bite - We weren't expecting much as we read that the joint was connected to a gas station, but the tacos were pretty cheap compared to other places I've been to so we decided to give it a shot. Unfortunately, they ran out of pastor for the night so we ended up only ordering lengua and carne. The Carne Asada was spicy but portions were generous and the tacos were delicious, 10/10 worth the price and a short wait. Keep in mind this place is cash only as well! Will be coming back to try other meats.

We parked right out front. Parking can be a little challenging, but it's definitely manageable. We walked in around 5:15 PM on a Sunday and found the place completely to ourselves, which makes sense since it's still fairly new. We were greeted by a tall young gentleman at the register who was friendly and welcoming. The menu was organized and specialized, which I really appreciated. Large menus can be overwhelming, and this one felt thoughtfully curated. I ordered two asada tacos, and so did my wife. As we waited, we enjoyed the sweet sounds of Luis Miguel and José José playing in the background. About five minutes later, our food arrived. The gentleman from the register personally brought it over with a great attitude and excellent service. My first impression was how colorful the tacos looked, with vibrant pink and green hues from the toppings. The tortillas had a perfect balance of crispness and softness, while the meat appeared both crispy and tender. I made my way over to the salsa bar and found it clean, well-stocked, and filled with a variety of house-made sauces. When I asked which salsa was the spiciest, one of the ladies in the kitchen pointed me toward the orange sauce. I also noticed some beautifully prepared pickled onions and habaneros--something I absolutely love. I added both to my plate and headed back to the table. After snapping a few pictures, I took my first bite with the orange salsa and the pickled onions and habaneros. My initial reaction was surprise--in the best way possible. The flavors were outstanding. The meat was tender with just the right amount of crispiness. The tortilla was hot, lightly fried, and still delicate. The orange salsa brought serious heat while remaining packed with flavor, and the onions and habaneros added a fresh, savory acidity that tied everything together perfectly. After that first bite, I knew I had made a mistake only ordering two tacos. They were that good. Before I even finished my plate, I walked back up and ordered three more asada tacos. My wife and I were genuinely impressed. The atmosphere was calm, refreshing, and inviting. We left extremely happy with both the food and the experience. We'll definitely be back to explore the rest of the menu. I wish this business nothing but success. This is exactly the kind of hard work, attention to detail, and passion that I love supporting. From start to finish, it was an excellent experience. The tacos were, without a doubt, ¡Ta' con madre!

While photos of their SF location suggest some seeing, this OG location is pretty much pickup/delivery only: a fairly literal hole in the wall, located along a random quiet street. Most folks would probably opt to take home or eat at one of the "nearby" parks, but we've gotten in the habit of just eating in the car, which... not so great for something as messy as birria lol. I'll say that for most folks, this would probably easily be more a 4 star spot, while for us, it's more a 2 star since we're unlikely to come back. That's not to say the food was bad: on the contrary, the flavors were quite good, and the consomme was less salty than some of the others we've tried. But their food is HEAVY. Not just the birria itself, but also the burrito we got, and heavier than other places we've been for some reason, with the birria sitting in a pool of oil soon after we picked it up. This probably isn't a deterrent for most people though, so take this as you will. Accessibility: Not too relevant since this is really just a pickup spot, with the pickup window being at the usual height you'd find elsewhere.
